Description

Just when you think it can't get any worse, it can. And just when you think it can't get any better, it can.

Foreword

Rain was pouring heavily in the busy streets of Seoul as she gently tapped her fingers on the steering wheel, following the beat of the song that had just started playing on the radio. "It's been fifteen minutes..." she muttered quietly to none other than herself as she surveyed her surroundings despite the fog that had formed on her mini cooper's windows accompanied with the heavy drops of rain.

Several students had taken cover from the nearby coffee shops and restaurants, street vendors have started closing up due to the storm that was headed to the city and then there's that one person sitting on the street bench without an umbrella, getting soaked -- wait, "There you are..." she whispered but quickly got out of her car seeing that the traffic wouldn't be making any progress any time soon.

Grabbing an umbrella, she approached the hunched man on the bench, drenched to the point that his shirt had clung on to his skin, head hung low and hair dishelved with several water droplets making their way to his hands that were clasped together as if in prayer.

It had taken him a few moments to realize that the rain was no longer falling on him but refused to look at the person that so kindly offered him some cover. She cleared and took a deep breath before lightly tapping him on the shoulder. "Jongin," She started and with that, he immediately looked up to see her familiar face with a confused expression.

He wasn't exactly sure what came over him at that moment. But the next thing he knew, he had already thrown himself in her arms. He had half expected her to push him away (they were simply acquaintances) but it didn't come as a shock when she wrapped a comforting arm around his waist, her other hand holding tightly on to the umbrella. He knew she had always been this kind of person.

Junmyeon had told him so.

Jongin sat quietly in the passenger seat snuggled up in her brown trench coat. The sweet scent of flowers faintly filled his nostrils as he clung to the thick material. "So Jongin, if you don't mind me asking, what were you doing back there?" She asked with a gentle voice, keeping her eyes straight on the road. He bit his lower lip and shifted his gaze to the window, when Jongin didn't answer, she quickly glanced to his side and pursed her lips.

Not wanting to press it any further, she simply turned the radio's volume higher and turned off the air conditioning after noticing the other shiver slightly in his seat. "Better?" Jongin nodded and whispered a soft 'thank you' before closing his eyes. Letting the music lull him into a deep slumber. Once he was asleep, she immediately dialled Junmyeon's number and told him that she had coincidentally found the missing boy.

"Can you... let him stay at your place for a while?" The older male said hesitantly, her brows furrowed at the sudden favor but surrendered nonetheless. "Why? What exactly happened?" She asked curiously before throwing another look at the sleeping boy beside her.

"Jongin caught his girlfriend cheating on him...again."

"Again? He forgave her the first time?"

"Yeah, he calls it 'love' but whatever, she'll probably look for him here like last time so could you hide him for a while? I'll bring some of his clothes over. Just for a few days."

"Just for a few days."
