The Weeping Woman

You're Not my Type

“Krystal! Fighting!” Sulli’s head shot up the moment she heard the younger girl’s name. Luna, who was seated just a few feet away from her, cheered for F(x)’s maknae, who was currently perfecting their new dance routine with their leader’s help. She smiled unconsciously at the two dancing girls, who incredibly had the will to keep practicing even if they were supposed to be enjoying their much awaited twenty-minute break. But Sulli was focused especially on one out of the two; that being Krystal. Sulli was having a hard time trying to not get lost in Krystal’s smile, which she rarely got to see anymore. The Korean-American girl lived up to her ice princess image, just like her sister, but Sulli knew just who the real Krystal was.

Sulli probably didn’t realize just how intently she was staring, but she knew she probably crossed the line when Krystal looked up from her feet and her eyes found Sulli’s through the dance studio’s mirror. Krystal’s smile of achievement soon turned into one of superiority as Sulli held her gaze, blushing madly at being caught staring. Sulli tried to look away, but it was proven to be impossible, even if she knew Krystal was rejoicing on the fact that she couldn’t take her eyes off of her. Her blush could only deepen when Krystal winked at her and blew her a kiss. The slightly older girl finally decided to look away, trying to hide both her embarrassment and inner joy, as the water bottle on her lap became the most interesting object in the world all of a sudden. When she managed to get both her blush and grin under control, she looked up again at Krystal and Victoria. This time, though, she noticed a slight look of distaste on Krystal’s visage, which she wondered about. She didn’t have to wonder too long, though, since she caught Krystal eyeing Amber from time to time, as if hoping to see Amber looking back at her at least once. The tomboy was sitting the farthest from them in a corner, smiling smugly while texting on her phone. Sulli rolled her eyes and shook her head, already knowing Amber was probably texting one of her many (girl)friends, but what bothered her the most is that she knew just how much that sole fact was enough to make Krystal go back to her ‘ice princess’ mode.

It’s not that Sulli had anything against Amber, at all; in fact, they couldn’t be closer. The two of them were used to goofing around and pulling pranks on the other members. Amber often referred to Sulli as her ‘little bro’ and Sulli jokingly called Amber ‘hyung’. But lately, all Sulli could feel while being around Amber was envy; envy because the older girl had easily won Krystal’s heart and she didn’t even care for it. Now, Krystal didn’t even see herself; all she saw was Amber. Sulli didn’t realize when everything became a love triangle, or more like a love heptagon if you counted each of Amber’s potential girlfriends in the industry. All the sweet moments Jungli shared on camera were followed by Krystal’s icy attitude the moment the cameras stopped rolling, while Kryber moments were always followed by Krystal’s girly giggles and Amber’s playful teasing. And of course, their manager was more than happy with it because Kryber had always been way more promotable, and this only served to heighten Sulli’s annoyance.

Sulli sometimes couldn’t help but wonder if Krystal found her attractive. The ice princess liked Amber, who had more of a boyish charm. Sulli herself was pretty girly, but everyone knew she had a childish and slightly tomboyish personality, even if she didn’t show it at the first impression. Heck, she even carried Krystal bridal style when the youngest Jung sister fainted during one of their performances. When the director of ‘To the beautiful you’ first told her she needed to cut her long hair, she had been skeptical and even cried a little over it, but as she thought things through, maybe Krystal would like her better if she had shorter hair, just like Amber. It seemed to work; when F(x) went to visit Sulli at the set, she noticed Krystal was staring more intently at her than before. Even if she and Amber were all over each other, Krystal’s attention was definitely on Sulli. Even at some point, Krystal managed to snatch Sulli away from Victoria’s arms, which had been wrapped around her all along just like Amber’s had been around Krystal. The Korean-American girl looked at Sulli up and down and then leaned closer to her. Sulli remembered her heart beating erratically on her chest as she felt Krystal being so close to her.

“You look really cute, Sulli.” Krystal purred and pulled away right after, winking at the other girl. The young actress just stood there, paralyzed as she watched Krystal talking to the rest of the crew in the set. That was probably the best day of her entire life.

Sulli smiled lightly at the memory, but she was still staring back and forth between Krystal and Amber when she felt someone sitting right next to her.

“I saw that… Stop being so obvious, Ssul.” Sulli stiffened at Luna’s playful remark, knowing that she was indeed being too obvious.

“I’m being obvious? Look at her, unnie, she’s the one being obvious.” Sulli replied, trying to not get too aggravated with the situation. “She keeps messing up her routine because she won’t stop staring at Amber-unnie!” Sulli crossed her arms and puffed out her cheeks. Luna couldn’t help but laugh and reach out to pinch one of Sulli’s cheeks playfully.

“But she winked at you, not at Amber-unnie. And if my eyes aren’t lying, she also blew you a kiss…” Sulli immediately stopped sulking and tore her gaze from Krystal, turning her head to meet Luna’s eyes with a flabbergasted expression. “You should be more confident, Jinri.” Luna added. The younger girl averted her gaze in thought, concluding that she definitely had reasons to be confident. Sulli’s constant goofing and gratifying sense of humor had served to lift Krystal up whenever the younger girl felt down because of the constant pressures of being an idol…

September 24th, 2009.

Twenty-three days had passed ever since their debut with ‘LaChata’. Sulli, who had yet to get used to their new dorm, got lost as she went to get a late-night snack. Just when she realized she had mistaken the hallways of the too-ample dorm for the five F(x) members, she sighed exasperatedly. She was about to make her way back to her room when the sound of sobs stopped her in her tracks. Sulli stopped breathing for a few seconds as she tried to distinguish the sounds and make sure she had heard right. Again, she heard a few sobs and whimpers. Sulli was filled with memories of her older brothers, who had constantly terrified her with stories of ‘The Weeping Woman’, the spirit of a young lady who lost her child and that tormented people as she uselessly tried to find him from the afterlife. Sulli’s heart was racing as she began to feel uneasy, wrapping her arms around herself. The faint sobbing and whimpering continued, making Sulli think that if it wasn’t ‘The Weeping Woman’, it could well be one of her fellow members. With this in mind, the girl’s feet began moving as if they had a mind of their own, going towards the living room. Once she reached it, she gasped lightly and held her chest with one hand. The silhouette of a girl’s body, sitting on top of the couch and rocking with obvious sobs, made her stop in her tracks.

“… Krystal? Omo, I’m so glad it’s only you… I thought the Weeping Woman had come for me.” Sulli joked awkwardly as she rubbed the back of her neck. Krystal looked away from the window, and thanks to the dim moonlight that skipped through it, Sulli could see the tear tracks down Krystal’s cheeks. The faint smile on the slightly older girl’s face disappeared and soon turned into a frown. Seeing that Krystal kept sobbing and didn’t look in the mood to talk, Sulli took a couple of tentative steps forward. “… Can I stay with you? I’m not really good at comforting people, but I could keep you company.” Krystal didn’t answer, instead, she just sobbed harder. Sulli sighed and immediately felt guilty for not being able to make Krystal feel better. “I understand. Goodnight, Krystal.” Sulli bowed her head and turned around in her heel, ready to get to her comfy bed and call it a night. She was stopped, though.

“St-Stay…” Sulli stopped when she heard the strained whimper. She turned around and moved towards the couch, more confidently this time. Krystal was hugging her knees to her chest and their dorm phone rested on the couch next to her body. Sulli eyed it curiously for a moment before turning her gaze back to Krystal, whose gaze was adamantly fixated on the floor. Sulli decided just to drop the respect and be forward, invading Krystal’s personal space and sitting right next to her. The younger girl wasted no time in throwing herself at Sulli, wrapping her arms around the taller girl. Sulli felt a little overwhelmed by how tight the embrace was, but soon relaxed and slowly wrapped her arms around Krystal’s shaking shoulders, casually running her hands through Krystal’s hair. It’s so silky, Sulli thought, and it smells really good too…

“What happened, Jjung?” She finally asked, when Krystal calmed a little in her embrace. The slightly younger girl snuggled her face further into Sulli’s neck, breathing in her comforting scent.

“You’ll probably think I’m stupid… but I was taking to my parents just now… I just really miss them…” Krystal muttered in-between sobs. Her tears were wetting Sulli’s neck as she held onto her.

“You’re not stupid, Jjung. I miss my parents too, and all the unnies miss their families as well. There’s nothing sinful in that.” Sulli comforted.

“… Jinjja?” Krystal asked, pulling away only so that she could see Sulli’s face. The slightly older girl nodded and gave Krystal a smile.

“Jinjja.” Soon, the ice princess found herself smiling back at Sulli. “Whenever you feel like this, you can talk to any of us… We might not be with our parents, but we’re a family now.” Krystal smiled even widely at the thought and her tears started ceasing before she knew it.

“Thank you, Sulli.” She said shyly after a few seconds of silence. Sulli smiled wider and pulled Krystal into one last hug.

“You’re welcome. Now smile, arasseo? I don’t like it when people cry.” Sulli pouted cutely, making Krystal giggle slightly and nod her head. There was a smile awkward silence before Krystal noticed Sulli was eyeing her weirdly.

“What? Is there something on my face?” Sulli shook her head frantically. “Then why are you looking at me like that?”

“It’s just that maybe you do look like the Weeping Woman…” Sulli trailed off, still examining Krystal’s features.

“… Huh?” Before Krystal could ask anything else, Sulli grabbed a hold of her long hair and messed it up, making it fall all over her face. Krystal shrieked slightly and pushed Sulli’s hands away from her locks of hair, pushing them back in a quick motion. When her vision was cleared, she saw Sulli holding onto her stomach while laughing silently, aware of the other members who were sleeping. “Why did you do that?! My hair gets tangled so easily…” She whined, hitting Sulli’s thigh as the other girl kept laughing.

“I-It’s just… You really look like the Weeping Woman now… You should see yourself…” Sulli kept laughing heartily, losing the strength to keep her eyes open. Krystal, the egocentric and perfectionist Krystal that hated looking disheveled, magically found herself laughing along with Sulli. She caught the older girl off guard as she also messed up Sulli’s long brown hair. Instead of getting mad, Sulli continued the joke as she once again messed Krystal’s hair, with Krystal lunging right back at her. And that’s how the two spent the rest of the night, tears and homesickness pushed aside…

End of flashback.

Those rare moments, whenever Krystal finally decided to stop trying to be a grown up and start enjoying even if just a glimpse of the childhood she’d missed, had made Sulli fall in love with her. She thought Krystal was the most beautiful whenever she’d put that icy wall down and smile for real, not for a camera. And Sulli felt more than honored to be the one who witnessed those moments.

“You know what, unnie? You’re right.” Sulli told Luna decidedly. “… but what if she just uses me to get over Amber?” Sulli voiced out her doubts, making Luna roll her eyes.

“What does she have that you don’t? I love Amber-unnie and all, but she doesn’t have your sense of humor. And I get the feeling Soojung definitely needs some humor in her life.”

“You’re right, unnie. I’ll confess, and she’ll say yes.” Sulli fist pumped. Luna smiled widely and clapped.

“Hwaiting, Jinri!” Sulli blushed and threw her arms around Luna’s shoulders, pulling the older girl into a hug.

“Aw, my children love each other so much…” Sulli and Luna pulled away to see Victoria and Krystal making their way to them. Victoria took a seat next to Sulli and rested her head tiredly on her shoulder. Sulli raised her hand and caringly ran it through Victoria’s chestnut hair, which was damp with sweat.

“Are you tired, umma?” Sulli asked, and Victoria nodded against her shoulder.

“I’m sorry, unnie… I should have let you rest… Now we only have around eight minutes left.” Krystal apologized as she took a seat next to Luna.

“It’s okay, I’m glad I could help you with your routine.” Victoria said, lifting her head from Sulli’s shoulder to give Krystal a reassuring smile. Krystal smiled back and bowed her head slightly. The four of them kept talking casually, but Sulli woefully noticed how Krystal didn’t take her eyes off Amber, who didn’t even look away from her phone once.

“Come on! Let’s finish this!” Victoria called as their twenty-minute break was over. Sulli pouted and stayed seated, puffing out a sigh. As she closed her tired eyes, she felt a hand smoothing down her recently cut hair.

“Come on, Ssul.” Sulli’s eyes were opened wide as she heard her beloved calling her. She looked up at Krystal, who gave her a faint smile. Sulli smiled back widely, almost believing that those fingers in her hair and their owner were an apparition of some sort. All her tiredness was magically pushed aside as she stood up and followed Krystal to the middle of the studio.

With all their moments in mind, Sulli started planning each of her steps and contemplating phrases to make Krystal hers.

Two days later.

“Jjung!”

“Ssul!”

Both girls greeted each other awkwardly as they bumped into each other. This is it, Sulli thought, gulping past the lump in . The past forty-eight hours had been a complete torture to the slightly older girl, since telling Krystal about her feelings had been the only thing on her mind. She had practiced her sweet lines in front of Luna, in front of a mirror and lastly in front of Amber’s dogs, who had happily woven their tails at her, as if wishing her good luck. Victoria was out in her schedule and Luna had managed to get Amber out of the house with her, with the lame excuse that she wanted to try out some clothes at the mall and she needed someone’s advice. Amber had grumpily given into Luna’s pleas, not suspecting anything. Sulli had taken the time to pick a cute outfit and do her make-up, making sure she’d look the part, as she waited for Krystal to be back from her schedule. Still, she couldn’t say she felt confident… There was a weird feeling in her gut that she couldn’t seem to ignore, even if she so wanted to believe things would be okay and she and Krystal would be together after this much anticipated confession.

“Where is everyone?” Krystal asked as she looked around the dorm in vain. Sulli gulped and wiped her slightly sweaty hands on the fabric of her shorts.

“They all went out. It’s just you and me tonight.” Sulli answered with a nervous smile. Krystal caught up to it and stared at her weirdly for a few seconds.

“Cool. I’ll just go to sleep then, I’m too tired.” You’re starting to sound like your sister, Sulli thought, frowning as she realized Krystal was probably avoiding spending time with her. Krystal headed to her room when a hand caught her wrist. She turned to face Sulli, who was looking down at the floor. The younger girl furrowed her brows and crossed her arms when her wrist was released. “Is there something I should know?”

“Don’t go just yet. I actually need to talk to you, Krys.” Krystal’s furrowed eyebrows shot up once she heard the rare nickname. The older girl barely referred to her as ‘Krys’.

“Sure, Ssul, go ahead.” Sulli gulped. All the lines she had so religiously repeated over and over again suddenly disappeared. She had never felt so lost for words and so… overwhelmed. Sighing deeply, she managed to gulp down the enormous lump in and the violent butterflies in her stomach. This was now or never.

“Thank you for being such a good friend to me, Soojung. I really pray we can be friends for life, but I don’t think I can settle for friendship anymore.” Krystal widened her eyes, making Sulli even more nervous. “Even if we don’t spend too much time together nowadays, I treasure every moment we spend together, because everything’s better with you. I-It’s no secret that you like Amber, but I don’t think she can make you happy like I can. I-I really like you, Soojung-ah. I like you more than a friend should.” Sulli obviated the word ‘love’ since she didn’t want to freak Krystal out more than she already was. The surprised expression on the ice princess’s face disappeared in a matter of nanoseconds, and Sulli’s heart dropped when a smug smirk that almost screamed superiority settled on Krystal’s features. Said girl slowly brought her hand to the crown of Sulli’s head, ruffling her hair.

“Sorry, Ssul. You’re not my type.” Sulli’s big brown eyes were opened wide at Krystal’s answered. It took Sulli a few seconds to realize that those cruel words had left the ice princess’s mouth.

What?” She whispered, clearly heartbroken and devastated. She could have sworn she saw Krystal’s expression of superiority fall a little, but it was back in no time. Krystal shrugged and removed her hand from Sulli’s head, turning around in her heel afterwards. Sulli blinked as tears clouded her vision, making them run down her cheeks in a sob-less cry. She had expected rejection to feel horrible, but didn’t think it would feel this heart-wrenching and excruciating. To the naïve Sulli who had never experienced that kind of pain before, it was the beginning of a torture.

“You look terrible.” Sulli looked up from the floor and met the eyes of a very happy-looking tomboy. Sulli felt slightly angered by Amber’s comment, even if she knew the older girl was just joking around.

“Thank you… It’s nice to see you too.” Sulli answered, not bothering to keep looking at Amber. The tomboy just reminded her of Krystal and her too-recent rejection.

“Cheer up, Ssul!” Amber took a seat next to her, rubbing her back in a caring motion that seemed so unlike Amber’s usual personality. Maybe that was the side of her that Krystal had fallen so hard for. “By the way, I didn’t know you could have the guts to confess to Krystal. Kudos for that!” Amber playfully pushed the usual playful Sulli, but the younger girl just continued to stare down at the floor.

“So you already know she turned me down.” Amber’s wide smile faded as she heard the way Sulli’s voice painfully broke.

“Yeah, I know. I’m sorry. I know what it’s like.” The older girl comforted. Sulli finally looked at her, giving her a murderous glare.

“What would you know? You can have anyone you want with just a few words…” Amber widened her eyes at Sulli’s outburst. “… You even have Krystal and you clearly don’t even want her.” Amber sighed as she caught up with what Sulli meant.

“That doesn’t mean I haven’t been rejected before. It’s terrible, but it’s part of life.” Sulli’s glare softened a little. She felt bad for snapping at Amber when the older girl wasn’t to blame in the situation. “You won’t die, Ssul. Deception doesn’t kill anyone, unless you commit suicide because of it. Wait, you’re not planning to kill yourself, are you?” Amber joked, making Sulli smile lightly and snort out a little laugh.

“No, of course I’m not…” Sulli sighed deeply and managed to show the most genuine smile she had mustered in the past few weeks. “You’re right, unnie. I won’t die. I shouldn’t let myself feel like this when she clearly doesn’t give a damn about me.” Amber smiled at her accomplishment and ruffled Sulli’s hair.

“That’s a good girl.” Amber removed her hand from Sulli’s hair, and sat up straight. The two stayed in silence for a few seconds. Sulli casually caught Amber staring into space and smiling lightly.

“Why are you so happy, hyung?” Sulli asked, playfully poking Amber’s cheek.

“You’ll find out soon enough.” Amber answered mysteriously, wiggling her eyebrows at Sulli. “I gotta go now, though. I want to be early to our dance practice.”

“Can I go with you?” Sulli asked. Amber paled at the question.

“A-Aniya… I have to meet someone there first. It’s kind of private.” Sulli furrowed her brows at Amber’s stuttering. The tomboy bid her farewell and left the dorm in a quick motion, almost forgetting to put on her shoes on her way out. Sulli, on the other hand, was caught up in suspicion.

Krystal is at the studio already… Could it be…? She and Amber..?

Before the questions could start eating her alive, she went to Luna and hurried the older girl to get ready and go to their dance schedule.

A few hours prior…

“You’re really stupid, you know?” Krystal was utterly surprised to hear those words coming out of their leader’s mouth. The two were currently grocery shopping and it was more than palpable that something was bothering Victoria. The usual bubbly leader was strangely quiet and her usually smiling lips were pressed into a thin line.

“What did you just say, unnie?” Krystal asked, clearly surprised.

“You heard me. I said you’re really stupid.” Victoria didn’t once look away from their groceries as they walked through the shop.

“Why are you calling me stupid? Did I do something?” Krystal’s brow furrowed. The Chinese girl shook her head, still not bothering to look at Krystal.

“Do you not realize it? Sulli is heartbroken over you. You made the worst choice when you turned her down, maknae.” Krystal rolled her eyes and shook her head. She was tired of hearing comments like that from Luna and now she had to hear the same thing from Victoria. Well, at least Luna didn’t call her stupid…

“Did she go crying to you or something? Sulli is too helpless for her own good…” Krystal muttered. Victoria looked up from the groceries and pierced Krystal with her big eyes.

“If it wasn’t for Luna, I probably wouldn’t have found out. But she’s my roommate, Soojung, I’ve heard her crying at night, even if she tries to hide it.” Krystal couldn’t help the pang of guilt that took over her heart at Victoria’s words. “I had never seen Sulli so sad. If you didn’t like her, then why did you encourage her to like you? I’m not blind, Krystal, you acted like a schoolgirl whenever Sulli was around, blowing her kisses and winking at her.” Krystal lowered her gaze, suddenly feeling overwhelmed by how right Victoria was.

“I-I don’t know, unnie. I guess it was because I enjoyed having her attention… I felt like she was all mine, and it felt good to see that at least someone could like me… I swear I didn’t know it would go that far.” Krystal defended herself. Victoria narrowed her eyes and shook her head.

“So you only used her because you craved the attention Amber wasn’t giving you?” The two girls suddenly stopped moving and remained static in front of one another, with the groceries pushcart separating them.

“Why am I even explaining myself to you? I’m sorry, unnie, but what happened between Sulli and I remains between us two. You’re out of the equation.” Krystal gave Victoria an icy glare. “If you like Sulli so damn much, then stop whatever it is that you have with Nichkhun-oppa and date her. She’s single and ready to mingle.” The maknae added, making Victoria narrow her eyes even further. She never thought Krystal could have such a blatant and sassy mouth when it came to arguments, because usually everyone just indulged her in whatever her whims were.

“You’re gonna regret this, Soojung. You don’t know how lucky you are to have Sulli’s love. She’d do anything for you.” Victoria muttered as she grabbed some more groceries, ignoring Krystal’s accusations. Krystal analyzed her solemn tone of voice, and secretly wondered if Victoria really did have feelings for F(x)’s second maknae.

“Then let me regret it. Stay out of this for your own good, unnie.”

SM Training Center, downtown Seoul.

Sulli ran as fast as she could the moment she stepped out the car. She left the other two confounded members behind as they thanked their driver and carefully made their way into the building. The younger girl had forgotten about her manners as she skipped past the masses of trainees and SM staff members, hoping to reach their practice room in time. If there was something going on between Amber and Krystal, she needed to see it with her own eyes.

She didn’t have to look for long; the silhouettes of two girls kissing in the middle of the empty and deadly quiet hallway made her stop in her tracks. She tried to calm down her racing heart and steady her vision so that she could make out who the two girls were. One of them was definitely Amber, but at a distance, she couldn’t be sure of who was kissing her fellow group member. She silently skipped forward, and her heart stopped when she finally came to the realization of who it was.

Suzy-ssi?”  The two kissing girls pulled away from each other and turned to face Sulli. Both their faces were red, and so was Sulli’s, who felt relieved and embarrassed at the same time.

“Sulli!” Amber greeted overexcitedly, trying to hide her blush. Suzy just waved at her awkwardly. “We’re lucky it was just you…”

“Yeah, I guess. I’m sorry I interrupted you…” Sulli rubbed the back of her neck and averted her gaze, being too embarrassed to think.

“We have to ask you to keep this a secret for now… You will, right?” Amber asked, biting her lip. Sulli smiled and nodded her head frantically.

“Of course… Now I know why you were so happy earlier… I’m happy for you two.” Suzy let out an audible sigh of relief as Amber wrapped her arm around her shoulders.

“Thank you, Ssul. Soojung is inside already.” Amber nodded towards the practice room. Sulli rolled her eyes.

“What a joy…” She muttered inaudibly as she bowed at Suzy and made her way into the practice room.

Once she was inside, she was surprised to hear muffled sobs. Sulli widened her eyes, recognizing whose sobs those were. She looked around the ample practice room, and noticed they were coming from the restroom. Furrowing her brows, Sulli quickly approached the restroom.

“… Soojung?” She asked quietly. Not getting any response, she pushed the door open. She came onto the sight of the youngest Jung sister, sitting on the restroom’s floor, hugging her knees to her chest, just like when Sulli had first seen her crying. The older girl’s heart softened and she couldn’t help but lean down and hesitantly place a hand on Krystal’s shoulder. “Soojung? What happened?” She asked quietly, even if it was obvious. Krystal had definitely seen Suzy and Amber kissing.

“Leave me alone.” Krystal whispered in-between sobs.

“But Jjung…” Krystal didn’t let her finish as she slapped Sulli’s hand away from her shoulder.

“I told you to leave me alone already! Why do you keep on pursuing me?! I’m not interested in you, Jinri, do I have to spell it out for you?” Sulli widened her eyes. Krystal just realized her words had been too harsh when Sulli’s expressive eyes showed nothing but hurt. “Omo, Ssul, I’m sorry…”

“Don’t bother, Soojung…” Sulli stood up and clenched her fists, feeling the tears of anger welling up her eyes. “You know what? I don’t know who you are anymore. I don’t know what happened to the Jung Soojung who played around with me and always made me smile… I just know you became this… monster the moment you started loving Amber more than you love yourself.” Krystal cringed at Sulli’s emotive words. She couldn’t be more right. “After all, I’m freaking glad that I’m not your type, because you don’t care about me! I’m nothing to you! So as of now, I promise this will be the last time you see me cry over you. I wish you a long and happy life, Soojung.” As she finished, Sulli wiped her tears, giving Krystal one last glance and storming out of the restroom.

Five months later.

Sulli picked up her suitcases and brought them one by one to the front door of their dorm. It still felt surreal that she was finally moving out. She felt almost numb by all the changes her life was having lately.

F(x) was falling apart. That, she couldn’t deny. Amber spent more time at the Miss A dorm than she did at the F(x) dorm, and had taken the habit of showing up late for her schedules. She was getting in trouble with their manager because of it. Victoria was acting more snappy and bossy than ever, especially with Krystal, to the point where she brought the ice princess to tears during one of their heated arguments. Sulli couldn’t stand being in the same room as Krystal, especially since the maknae would always find a way to get her attention. Sulli needed to forget about Krystal, and the younger girl wasn’t making it easy with her constant tantrums and demands. The poor Luna was just caught in the middle of everything, becoming the obvious peacemaker of the group. Sulli had almost begged their manager to let her move out, and he had no other choice but to comply. After all, it was the best thing to do.

Sulli looked at the dorm thoroughly one last time, thinking that she had definitely spent some good times there. But then, she had to fall for Jung Soojung. That ruined it all, and she couldn’t help but blame herself for the hardships F(x) was going through.

“S-Sulli?” Recognizing the owner of that voice, Sulli shut her eyes and nodded her head slightly. “A-Are you really leaving?” The vulnerability in Krystal’s words made Sulli shake. She just somehow hoped that it was genuine.

“Do I look like I’m not leaving?” Sulli asked, opening her eyes and turning around to face Krystal. The younger girl looked at Sulli’s luggage briefly before meeting the girl’s eyes. Sulli was surprised to see Krystal’s eyes were red and puffy.

“I just thought maybe it was a joke or something… but it’s true…” Krystal whispered more to herself.

“Yeah… I’d better just wait outside for the driver. He might be getting here anytime soon.” Sulli said, not bearing to be around Krystal any longer. It hurt her too much. She already had her hand on the doorknob when she was stopped.

“Stay.” Even if she wanted to play hard, Sulli turned around to face Krystal again. She thought her ears were lying to her. Did Krystal not want her to leave?

“W-What?” Sulli stuttered out, not taking her eyes off of Krystal. Words couldn’t match her surprise when she noticed Krystal’s body was shaking with sobs.

“I just asked you to stay… again. You can’t leave, Ssul.” The younger girl took a few tentative steps forward, not sure if it was okay to approach Sulli just yet.

“Why not? You’re the one that wants me out the most.” Sulli replied venomously. Krystal shook her head frantically, and Sulli could sense the sincerity in her eyes.

“Don’t say that because it’s not true.” Sulli furrowed her brows and stepped a bit closer to Krystal. “N-Now that I’m all alone, I’ve realized just how much I owe you. And I realized that I’m so, so sorry, Ssul.” Sulli felt tongue-tied. She wanted to argue against Krystal’s apology, but seeing the younger girl crying, looking more vulnerable than ever, she couldn’t. “When you found me crying that day, I wasn’t just crying over Amber. I was crying because I realized just how much I had hurt you. I’m so sorry I pushed you away… You said you mean nothing to me, how could you ever be nothing to me? You’re everything to me, Sulli. I understand if you never forgive me, but please… don’t leave. I can’t hold on any longer without you…” The older girl couldn’t help but smile lightly at Krystal’s words. She lunged forward and eliminated the distance between their bodies.

Krystal’s heart leaped in joy as she saw Sulli’s smile, which she hadn’t seen in months. The older girl reached for her hand, entwining their fingers together. A rush of electricity went through both their bodies at the contact.

“Do you mean it, Soojung?” Sulli asked vulnerably, her eyes locked deeply with Krystal’s. The younger girl nodded, feeling slightly lightheaded at their closeness.

“I do… I wish I could take it all back… And most of all, I wish I could go back to that day when you told me about your feelings… I would have accepted you and never let you go.” Krystal whispered. As Sulli smiled widely, the maknae found herself smiling back through her tears.

“Jinjja? The offer still stands, you know.” Sulli flirted, leaning closer to Krystal. The younger girl, who thought Sulli hated her, couldn’t help the dreamy sigh that left her lips. She closed her eyes at Sulli’s proximity.

“Then I say ‘yes’ now. Just like I should have.” Both girls smiled widely. Krystal was quite sure that Sulli was going to kiss her, so she anticipated the moment. The older girl leaned in and pressed her lips against Krystal’s cheek, fluttering her eyelashes against it in a sweet butterfly kiss. Krystal giggled like a schoolgirl in love at Sulli’s sweet gesture. As the older girl was pulling away, Krystal reached for the back of her neck and pulled her into a full kiss. Sulli was surprised, but soon kissed back with intensity. She had imagined this moment so many times that it was truly a dream come true that Krystal’s lips were pressed against hers. Krystal’s heart almost exploded when Sulli cupped her face and deepened the kiss, on her upper lip gently. The ice princess melted at Sulli’s touch, and both of them moaned into the much awaited kiss. The sound of a car honk outside their dorm made the two girls pulled away slightly. Sulli gently caressed Krystal’s cheeks with her thumbs, enjoying the maknae’s soft skin.

“I’ve always dreamed of holding you like this…” Sulli whispered against Krystal’s lips.

“I know… me too. I love you, Sulli. More than I could possibly love Amber or anyone else.” Sulli rested her forehead against Krystal’s, smiling in pure joy.

“I love you too, Soojung.” The insistent car honk broke the moment. Sulli giggled while Krystal let out an exasperated sigh.

“It must be my driver…” Sulli trailed off, not knowing what to do about it since she was sure she was not leaving the F(x) dorm.

“He’ll have to keep making noise, because I won’t let you go again.” The older girl couldn’t help but blush as Krystal pulled her in for another kiss, wrapping her arms around the taller girl’s neck. Sulli suddenly pulled away, startling Krystal.

“What’s wrong?”

“I knew I was your type from the beginning.” Sulli commented smugly, pulling Krystal into a hug. Krystal laughed against Sulli’s shoulder.

“Of course you are, Ssul. You’re just my type.”

THE END.

Chapter 1: Omfg this was soooo amazing! One of the greatest jungli one shots I have read but honestly a part of me didn't want Sulli to fall in so quickly like from all the Krys did but I mean it was all still good. I enjoyed the rollercoaster ride of emotions ;)
