Goodbye

Goodbye

Hello.

~~~
“Hey.”
I glanced up to see a girl with dark, long hair and the most beautiful brown eyes I’d ever seen look at me with a smile on her face.
“Hi.”
“I’m Choi Miyun.”
“Aaron Kwak.”
“Wanna hang out with me and my friends?”
She pointed to a table of laughing boys and girls.
They all looked over to the two of us and a few of them waved.
I nodded to them and smiled back at her.
“Sure.”
~~~

Did you eat?

~~~
“Have you eaten yet?”
She pursed her lips and smiled. Her sparkling brown eyes cheerful.
“Nope.”
I smiled back at her.
“Then… why not join me for lunch?”
Her face flushed and she seemed flustered.
“L-Like a date?”
I nodded, anxiously waiting for her answer.
“O-Okay.”
She smiled shyly, her eyes glancing up at me before looking away cutely.
I took her hand and walked with her over to a small café for our first date.
~~~

Your whereabouts worry me.

~~~
“Hey, wanna go on a date with me later?”
I heard laughing on the other side of the line.
“S-Sorry, Aaron! Maybe next time.”
More laughing, and… a guy’s voice?
She hung up, nothing else said.
What just happened?
~~~

Hello.

~~~
“Hey, Miyun.”
Her eyes widened in surprise at the fact that I was standing at her door.
I smiled at her, hoping that she was surprised in a happy way.
“Can I come in?”
“U-Um, no! I mean… my house is super messy right now! L-Let’s go out instead!”
I laughed.
“You’re the most organized person I know. How could your house be messy?”
She ruffled her hair slightly, seeming to be frustrated with something.
“I’ve been reorganizing things! So it’s really not a great sight. Let’s just go somewhere. Wait out here. I’ll go grab my jacket.”
She closed the door before I could follow her in.
There were muffled voices, a guy’s voice, and I knew she wasn’t alone.
But she lived alone.
~~~

Why can’t you see anything?

~~~
I walked to her house, the only way I could even imagine seeing her.
It was raining, so I thought I must’ve been just imagining things.
But… I couldn’t lie to myself.
Why can’t she see me standing here?
Watching her as she kissed some other guy.
Why couldn’t she see me here, in pain?
Watching her and just seeing our relationship crumble in front of my eyes.
~~~

Hello. Hello.

~~~
“Hold on.”
She took her phone out of her pocket and seemed upset.
“Hello.”
I didn’t say anything.
“Hello? Aaron?”
I walked towards her, my phone to my ear still as she continuously called my name.
I was two feet away from her when she turned.
Her phone dropped out of her hand.
Her brown eyes widened.
“A-Aaron.”
I looked coldly at her, then to the guy she’d just been kissing.
That was all I needed to do before walking away.
“Aaron! Wait!”
She grabbed my arm and turned me around.
The feelings we had for each other were gone.
The only feelings I had for her now shown threw my eyes.
I could see her shiver, whether from the coldness of the weather or of my eyes, I didn’t really care anymore.
“Goodbye, Miyun.”
