He was closer than he had been before and there was no word for how I felt. Nervous just didn’t cut it anymore. It was almost as if all my organs had been dug out and my lungs were hanging in free space, I felt empty, open, light; but at the same it was like a hand surrounded my heart and was slowly applying pressure to it, tightening my chest.
