The Earth has become an everlasting land of Winter.

The population has become sparse and few. The few people that are left dig and scavenge for Malalite as an offereing to 'The Others', a secretic alien race whose origins and purpose stil remain unknown.

It is The Others that source the ongoing winter conditions, and it was them who cast the people back to live humble lifes. The people live in fear and anger, hoping for the day when their strength finally matches The Others.
