I just can't take it...

Annoyed [One shot] Chunji

Please enjoy! ^^

It was a wonderful morning. The day was cool, no clouds were out, and the sun wasn’t scorching. However, as I found my way down to school I ran in to him. The most annoying kid I have ever met in my life, also known as Lee Chanhee or Chunji. He always wanted to help me, spend time with me, or compliment me. At first I didn’t find him all that irritating, but as time went on and I got to know him better. He became like adhesive glue, really sticky and hard to get off.

“Good Morning Yoon Ji,” Chunji greeted. I nodded acknowledging his appearance.

“Morning Chunji,” I answered, my gaze was fixated on the street in front of me.

“Do you want me to carry your bag?” He offered. I shook my head.

“Aniya I’m fine, thanks,” I declined.

“Do you want to get some breakfast?” He offered again.

“No,” I answered.

“Do you want to hang out later today? My mom made fresh fruit again,” He told me. As tempting as his mom’s fruit sounded I still declined. Lately I was just annoyed with Chunji. He seemed to be offering me the world and then some.

I always answered him shortly, but that was always the custom. This same thing occurred every single day.

Today...was just a little different.

“Yoon ji… why don’t you ever accept anything I offer?” Chunji asked, just before we got to the front of the school. I merely shook my head.

“Don’t take it personally,” I merely answered. Anyone could tell by the look on his face that he wasn’t satisfied by the answer I gave him. He didn’t get the chance to ask anything else since his group Teen Top came and we took our separate routes. I then walked to my class with my friend Ji Na.

“So how was your walk with Chunji today?” She asked, knowing my everyday schedule. I shrugged at her.

“Same ol’. It’s just really annoying.” I confessed, while sitting down at my desk. Ji Na shook her head.

“I think it’s sweet. I would take advantage of it. Plus Chunji isn’t going to chase after you forever. He and his group are getting pretty popular around here lately. I even heard some girls talking about how handsome he was in the bathroom.” Ji Na informed me. I shrugged at her. I really didn’t care much for Chunji offering the world to me, but something about other girls wanting him sort of bothered me. Before I could answer back, the teacher came in and class began.

“Now I want you all to turn in your essays,” the teacher announced to my class. I looked around folder and realized that I left my essay back at home on my desk. I sighed and put my forehead to my desk.

I had worked so hard on that essay too… I even stayed up late last night putting on the finishing touches on the essay.

“Yoon ji… where is your essay?” the teacher asked, as he passed my desk. I frowned.

“Well I did it but I left it at my desk at home,” I answered truthfully. The teacher shook his head at me.

“I’m sorry, but you know my zero tolerance policy. I’m afraid that is going to be a zero,” My teacher told me. I nodded understanding that he was being fair.

Great that was all I needed…first Chunji now my essay. I shook it off. It was only a few bad things. Today wasn’t going to get worse.

[To Lunch]

I was going to go to the courtyard when suddenly I lost my footing and fell on a puddle of fruit punch. I sighed.

“Are you okay?” Ji- Na asked. I nodded.

“I’m fine,” I answered, cleaning my skirt, unfortunately the red stain was visible. I continued on. We found a table and as we made our way towards the table. I ran in to a table that slightly tore my skirt. I groaned and picked up the cloth that ripped off.

“You’re just having a tough day today huh?” Ji Na said sitting down at the table. I sighed.

“Yeah on the plus side I can eat now,” I commented. I immediately went in to my bag and was disappointed to realize that I left my lunch at home. I groaned and laid my head on the table.

“What happened now?” Ji Na asked.

“I forgot my lunch,” I muttered. She looked at me with a sympathetic expression.

“Well I have some kimbap if you want some,” She offered. I nodded and plopped one in my mouth. Then next thing I know Chunji is at my side.

“Are you okay? You look like you are having a bad day,” Chunji commented, with a concerned expression. I shook my head.

“Don’t worry about it,” I mumbled.

“Look here, you can have some of my lunch,” He offered. I shook my head.

“Don’t mind her… she’s just angry that she left her essay at home and fell on some fruit punch,” Ji Na informed him. I glared at her.

“Well I can talk to your teacher if you want,” Chunji offered. I shook my head.

“If you can find her a new skirt now we’re talking,” Ji Na commented.

“Oh okay a new skirt hn… maybe they have some in the office,” Chunji drifted off.

“I know her size!” Ji Na exclaimed. Soon everything started to build up inside of me.

“STOP! No no no no!” I yelled. “Thanks Chunji… but NO! I don’t want anything from you just… do me a favor and leave me alone,” I told him, leaving. I just couldn’t take it for some reason. I just needed time to cool off. I walked around school and I found my self on the roof. I slowly drifted off to sleep.

When I awoke it was time to go home. My walk home was particularly quiet since Chunji was no where to be found. I kind of missed Chunji’s presence but I figured he had something to do and went home.

[The Next Day]

I walked to school and was surprised not to find Chunji anywhere. I was even more surprised to find Chunji at school talking to a group of girls. I couldn’t help but feel angry at the smiling faces that both Chunji and the girls had plastered on, but I ignored it and went to class.

At lunch time was the same story. Chunji was surrounded by girls and happily eating his lunch.

“I think you pushed him to his limit,” Ji Na told me. I sighed.

“I was having a bad day,” I answered. She shook her head at me.

“He was just trying to help,” She defended him. I glanced over at Chunji and felt my heart break. I shook it off and figured that later on I would be able to speak to Chunji. However, I was wrong. I spent 2 weeks with out talking or even walking with Chunji. I felt like I was going insane. I began to yearn for Chunji and I soon realized the feelings of affection that I had for him. I actually enjoyed Chunji being around me all of the time.

Another day after school, as I was heading home, I saw Chunji with a girl who was getting awfully close to him. I couldn’t help but fume. What pushed me over the edge was when the girl grazed her hand across Chunji’s cheek. I quickly went over to Chunji and grabbed his hand and pulled him with me. I saw a confused expression on his face.

“What’s wrong?” Chunji asked, looking at me curiously. I couldn’t say anything, so I hugged him. “Are you okay?” He wondered. I nodded snuggling in to his chest.

“I’m sorry… I miss you,” I whispered, loud enough for him to hear. He patted my back.

“I thought you wanted me to leave you alone?” He commented. I shook my head.

“No I just had a bad day and took it out on you… I’m sorry,” I apologized. I looked up at him and saw a smile plastered on his face.

“Y’know that wasn’t even the thing that bothered me the most. I just… don’t understand why you didn’t want to take my help,” Chunji commented.

“I just...I’m sorry,” I apologized again, not really having a good enough reason to give him as to why I didn’t take his help other than I was stubborn and I liked him, but I wasn’t going to admit that.

“Well… how about I take you home?” He offered. I nodded.

“I’d like that,” I accepted. He grabbed my hand and he wouldn’t let go. I enjoyed the warmness of his hand and the simplicity of the moment we were sharing. I could feel my heart race and for some reason everything seemed brighter. When we arrived at my house he kissed my cheek.

“I’ve been waiting to do that…forever,” He commented. I smiled and . I kissed his cheek and walked to my door.

“Well you’re going to have to wait forever to do it again,” I told him, giggling. I laughed at the awestruck face he had on and I ran in to my house. It was nice having Chunji back. I knew that this time was going to be different.
