Fighting for Freedom
Description
Fighting for Freedom
“None who have always been free can understand the terrible fascinating power of the hope of freedom to those who are not free.”
Pearl S. Buck
It is quite common to hear about loony-off-their-heads scientists who experiment on children in movies but you would never think that twisted things like that actually happened to people. Such evil, cruel acts that leave you feeling sick to the stomach at the idea that people who committed those crimes actually existed.
But of course, in an ideal world, we would all like to think that there was only good in the world where there would be no wars, poverty, famine -all of which contribute to unnecessary deaths as the root cause of all listed were started by the greed of humans. One evil in particular that has secretly dominanted the government's interest is creating monsters that will follow their commands on whim, specially in wars to be able to exploit their hidden weapons -the successful experiments.

Foreword
She her lips nervously as she allowed time for her eyes to adjust to the strong intensity levels of the light, casting her gaze around the white room which she had inhabited since she first woke up in this place. Physically she was about the size of a teenage girl at 16 with the predicted human age of about nine, however mentally she was much older than that. The things she was forced to witness in this place had instantly eliminated any sense of being a child within her.
Involuntary shivers ran down her spine at merely the thought of the experiments that were being carried out, day in and day out. It was an understatement to say that her unpleasant encounters that she shared with these humans had created a bad impression on her. She grew to hate each and every one of them who ran various tests on her, in turn each one had contributed to both the physical and mental scars she was forced to bear with.
She let out a shaky breath; she was back in her room after having to endure another one of their assisted physical examination which tested to see whether she was living up to her full potential by exerting the powers she owned. However, it wasn’t just a simple test—oh no, now that would have been considered rather human in their eyes. Instead, they had trapped her with another experiment, one of whom she was not particularly fond of in the slightest. Every inch of her body ached as bruises had already started to mar her pale skin.
To put it straight, they tortured all the experiments until they were at their wit’s end to the point where they were literally on the verge of breaking point. The methods they used would be considered cruel and merciless, testing to find out what exactly made them tick in order to be able to fully control them.
Just by remembering the memory of his haunting black eyes staring at her with that dangerous predatory look made her want to crawl up in a ball. No doubt he was thinking of all the possible ways he could slaughter her with his sharp, canine teeth.
Through mere observation on her part, she had found out that there were approximately twelve other ‘successful’ experiments taking residence in this laboratory. Each and every one of them had seemed to develop some kind of sick goal to try and catch her during the physical tests. Fortunately, she had never had the chance to encounter all of them at once in fear of them exploiting the opportunity to ambush her.
The scientists who worked here had the preconception that she was dumb because she remained mute, refusing to speak in fear of being experimented on even further. The other experiments, unlike her were part animal, therefore could not speak the language that the humans spoke. It seemed that they had assumed that she could understand them but the only sound she heard erupt from their lips was merely growls and snarls. They were equally as vicious and dangerous as each other and none of them should be trusted. She had learned that from experience of them trying to maul her at every single opportunity they were given.
The sheer level of security and barriers that were positioned around the laboratory were intimidating to say the least. It was evident that the person in charge made absolutely sure that any attempts to escape were reduced to a minimum. But of course, why would the creator himself allow his precious monsters to roam around freely in the company of innocent, defenceless humans?
“I suggest that you start getting used to this, monster. Because you will never be able to escape this place, it’s practically impossible. Though, I would not expect someone of your intellect to even begin to think about leaving.” One of the scientists, Yuri cackled loudly her voice sounded the equivalent of nails scratching on a black board.
Although she knew that she had a snowball’s chance in hell of getting out of here, that didn’t stop her from imaging what it would be like to get out and experience all the wonders that the outer world has to offer, to be able to appreciate the things that humans take for granted.
And that is freedom.
But what she doesn't realise is what the cost of freedom will require. Because the things we want in life never come by easily.
