Unexpected meeting
Longing Hearts- Chapter 1 -
“Are you having a good time, my friend?”
Lee Kwang Soo, asked me, while he pat me in the back.
“Yes, I’m. You were right when you told me
I wouldn't regret coming here.” I answered.
It kind of surprise me that wasn’t a lie, I felt really great being there,
I really like the live music, the ambience of the place make me feel comfortable,
It felt like I was becoming the way I used to be.
“I knew it; I knew you would like to come here,
I know you are kind of busy but you have to enjoy the great things of life.
You know I’m kind of worry that you’re overworking yourself.”
“I know, I know, don’t worry about that“. I said, while I drank a sip of my drink.
“You should date someone; there are so many beautiful girls here. . .
Oh! Talking about that, there’s a beautiful girl, to your left,
she hasn’t stop staring to our direction,
but I can really tell which one of us she’s interested in. Why don’t you ask her?”
I turned around to see the girl, in that moment,
in the doorway of the room a silhouette caught my attention.
The band was playing a slow song, when I saw her smile.
That smile that I knew so well, that smile that would make my heart race.
Fate could not be this cruel.
She looked so beautiful in that white dress,
her sweet and tender smile illuminate her beautiful face.
I tried so hard to stop staring at her, but I couldn’t resist doing it, I haven’t seen her in a while.
In that moment she gazed to where I was, my heart was beating so fast,
but then she watched to another direction, it seemed like she was looking for someone.
I immediately turned around. I tried to calm down,
my heart was still beating like crazy that I felt it was going to explode.
“What’s wrong? You look really pale?” Lee Kwang Soo asked me, looking really worried.
“Nothing, you’re right, she’s really pretty.” I could barely answer.
“Do you think I’m a fool? Tell me what’s going on?” Lee Kwang Soo demanded.
“Nothing, believe me. You know what; I really think she’s pretty so I’m going to talk to her.
Don’t worry, have fun too.” I said with a smile while I was standing up from the bar stool.
It seems like Lee Kwang Soo didn’t see her. It’s a good thing.
I don’t want to worry him, or worse having him making questions.
The people who don’t know me think I’m an outgoing person,
but it’s hard for me to say what I really feel.
My close friends know a lot of things about me that anybody else,
but there’s a lot more that I keep for myself.
“Ok, I understand, then go and talk to her.”
Lee Kwang Soo said to me, while he was watching me leave.
I walked over to where the girl was and introduce myself.
“Hello my name is Song Joong Ki.” I told her with a smile.
“How could I not know who you are?
I’m a great admirer of Running Man, by the way my name is Park Hee Jin.”
While I was talking to PHJ I was looking to the crowd trying to find a glimpse of Chae Won.
Just then I could see her, she was close of where we were.
She was laughing with someone.
I felt relieved to see it was Moon Geun Young whom she was laughing.
I don’t know how I would have reacted if she was with another company
that weren’t her friends, I didn’t even wanted to think about it.
“I don’t want to be a meddler but, are you looking for someone?
Your head seems to be somewhere else.”
Park Hee Jin asked me, but she didn’t look like she was mad.
“I’m sorry; I didn’t go out for so long so it’s kind of awkward for me to be here.” I said with a smile.
“Don’t worry about it, you will get used to it.
By the way I couldn’t help notice that you came in company with Lee Kwang Soo sshi,
I’m his biggest fan, I want to talk to him but I don’t have the courage to approach him.”
She said with a shy smile
“If you want to I can introduce you to him, what do you think?”
“Really? You’re really nice. I will appreciate a lot this favor. Thank you, thank you!”
“Come with me, then.” I said, I think Kwang Soo and she can really have a good time,
she seems a really good girl, totally the type of Kwang Soo.
“Wait, wait, can I go to the bathroom to touch up my makeup, please give me a second.”
“Go ahead, I’ll wait here.”
“Thank you, I will be right back.” Said Park Hee Jin, while she was leaving
I saw Moon Geun Young getting through the crowd to where the bar was,
and Moon Chae Won was following her behind.
“Hey, good night, could you please give me a Tequila sunrise and a white Russian.”
I could hear Moon Geun Young said to the bartender.
I knew Moon Chae Won was coming near to where I was too;
I felt suddenly the room was spinning, how I was supposed to act?
Should I just say hi? Or should I pretend not to know her? Aish! I have so many things in my head.
“Hi Song Joong Ki ssi, I had not expect meeting you here, what a nice surprise!”
Moon Geun Young said with an excited look in her eyes.
“Hello, It’s nice to meet you here too” I said to Moon Geung Young
when I look at Moon Chae Won who was next to her.
We meet our eyes, and I could notice she was rather uncomfortable.
“Hi, Song Joong Ki . . . ssi, it has been a long time without seeing you.”
Moon Chae Won said, trying to avoid my gaze.
“Chae Won, I have to go. JGS sent me a message and he’s looking for us.
You know his sense of direction is totally nonexistent. Could you please wait for the drinks?
I would come back as fast as I can.”
Moon Geun Young said trying to avoid the furious stare Chae Won gave her.
“Will you please take care of her, Song Joong Ki ssi?
I’m sure I can count on you!”
Moon Geun Young said and then proceeds to break through the crowd.
Being this close with her I caught a glimpse of her perfume that brought past memories,
memories of the time we were together, when she was in my arms,
the taste of her kisses, her hugs and caresses.
Every memory was passing by like a movie in front of my eyes
and with them come the sadness of not being able to make it through her walls.
“Here you have” Said the bartender to Moon Chae Won.
“Thank you” She said while she took a sip of her White Russian.
“And how have you been?”
I asked her to end the awkward silence that installed since Moon Geun Young left.
“Good, enjoying my short break. . . “She said when she was interrupted.
“Today must be my lucky day! Oh My!
I can’t believe I’m seeing in person my current favorite actress.
I’m an aspiring actress and I dream someday
I will be a good actress like you, by the way I’m Park Hee Jin” Said Park Hee Jin.
“Thank you, nice to meet you. I’m sure if you have
patience and don’t give up your dreams will come true.” She said with a smile.
I admire her for being so down to earth despite being famous;
so many people in this industry are so arrogant,
but she’s so different than any actress I have known.
“Is she with you, Song Joong Ki?” Moon Chae Won asked me.
I could notice she was regretting to have made that question.
“Yes, I just have met her.” I answered.
In that instant her phone began to rang, she apologized and said she had to answer.
“Yes, I’m right here, where are you. . . Mmm, I will be there in a moment.
I will hang up” She said to someone that I was expecting to be Moon Geun Young.
“I need to go, it was nice to see you, take care. . .” she said directing her gaze to me,
“. . . and to meet you” She said to Park Hee Jin while she shake her hand.
“It was nice to see you too” I answered and as a response
she smiled at me then she turn around. I saw her immersing herself to the crowd.
“She’s so nice and so pretty.” Park Hee Jin exclaim.
For a moment I forgot she was there. I took my phone out and call Kwang Soo.
“Kwang Soo, where are you? Could you please come to the bar counter,
there is someone I want to introduce you?”
“Is a woman? Is she pretty?” Kwang Soo said over the phone.
“Remember the girl that you couldn’t tell which one of us she was interested in?
Well guess what, she’s interested in you” I said with a smile.
“Really? That doesn’t surprise me; I’m more charming than you!
I’m coming right away!” He said and then hanged up.
“Kwang Soo is coming!” I said to Park Hee Jin.
“Thank you, for not forgetting to introduce him to me.”
Park Hee Jin said while she took a sip of her drink.
“It’s nothing” I said when Kwang Soo approach me from behind.
“You’re really fast” I said with a wide grin, and Kwang Soo look at me furiously.
“Park Hee Jin, I would like to introduce you to my friend Kwang Soo”
I said. I notice Park Hee Jin was blushing and so was Kwang Soo.
“Hi, I’m Kwang Soo. . .”Kwang Soo said while he took a sit on a bar stool.
“Well, guys sorry for interrupt but I have a photo shoot tomorrow, so I have to go”
I said while I stand up from my sit. “You are in good hands, Park Hee Jin, it was nice to meet you”.
Kwang Soo whisper to me “Thank you, men”.
I just grin and start to get through the crowd to get out of there.
When I was close to the exit of the place, I saw Moon Chae Won walking out the door with some man
that I believe it was Park Shi Ho, following her behind. I felt my blood was boiling from jealousy.
I tried to make my way through the exit as soon as I could,
when I finally managed to get out of there. I run to the street but they weren’t there.
It seems they have gone. What I was thinking when I followed them?
Even if I would catch them up, what I was planning to do?
I don’t have any say in her life; we’re not in a relationship.
I didn’t want to be there anymore.
I started to walk to where my car was and then drove to my apartment.
When I was finally in my apartment I served myself a whisky
I drink it in one shot and then I flopped down on my sofa.
I couldn’t stop thinking about what happened tonight.
I took my Ipod and put the ear buds and a song started to play.

Tears were streaming down my face. I thought I had got over her,
I was lying to myself when all this time I was truly missing her.
