A waste of time
Ryeowook groggily scrambled out of bed, the loud, insisting knocking on his front door having ripped him out of his dreams. He looked at the clock on his nightstand and saw that it was just past one in the morning. He quickly slung a blanket over his shoulders, shivering as he made his way through the darkness to the door. He peeked through the peephole in the door and frowned deeply before opening the door.
“Jongwoon, what are you-“
“Is this why you broke up with me?!” Yesung all but yelled, ing a piece of paper into Ryeowook’s face, causing the smaller man to take a step back in surprise.
“Is it?!” the taller man insisted, anger, hurt and pain showing in his eyes. Ryeowook collected himself again after the initial surprise and looked at the paper the older was still holding up. His face immediately whitened when he realised what Yesung was holding.
“How did you get that?” he asked in a meek voice, pulling the blanket closer around his body, trying to hide the obvious weight loss his body had gone through since he saw Yesung last time.
“Sungmin gave it to me. I had to hear this from your brother, not you! What were you thinking, Ryeowook?” Yesung accused angrily, his voice raised with all the emotions that rushed through his veins. Ryeowook stood completely still, not trying to defend himself or answer the elder’s questions. He kept his eyes on the ground, knowing that all his defences would break if he looked the older in the eyes now.
Yesung suddenly noticed the way Ryeowook’s cheeks seemed to have sunk in. He noticed the shiver that ran through his body despite the thick blanket wrapped around his shoulders. He noticed that the hand clutching the blanket seemed even more fragile than it used to, almost like it could break any second if it wasn’t handled with extreme care and cautiousness. He stepped closer to the smaller, closing the door behind him to close out the cold night.
