All throughout history aristocratic families would marry in-family to keep their blood “pure”.

In Korea, the Choi Family is the most powerful family in the country, and they continue the tradition of this marriage, however, not to keep their blood “pure”, instead to keep their power strictly in the hands of family.

Rules of Choi Marriage:

1.       There will only be one Choi Family marriage in each generation.

2.       The eldest/only child of the Choi couple will be automatically chosen as the established successor in the next generation’s Choi marriage.

3.       After the said heir’s twentieth birthday, he/she will move into the same estate with the cousins of the opposite gender for a year.

4.       The cousins will have that year to court the heir.

5.       At the end of the year the heir will announce who he/she chooses to marry.

6.       The cousins that are not chosen will marry with other powerful families, other than the Choi, to broaden the Choi Family’s power.

7.       The high council, the earlier Choi generation, has the ability to vote a family/member out of the Choi Family, stripping them of the Choi name and authority that come with it.

*It has been said that in-bred children have a higher percentage of being born with some sort of disorder BUT this is NOT the case in this story. The children are born perfectly healthy.
