Chrysanthemum ~
Description
One-shot: partly in Kwon Jiyong's point of view, other half in Choi Seunghyun's.
Some times it seems like the simplest things are what means the most to us. But when you're forced to leave behind something as simple as a friendship, would you be willing to let it go - or live the rest of your life attached to an unfulfilled promise?
Jiyong remembers. He remembers the time his best friend left, his promise, and his favorite flower.
After all these years, he still has faith that his best friend will return.
After all these years, all he has are chrysanthemums to keep that promise alive.
Foreword
Jiyong's POV:
I bring them up under my nostrils and inhale slowly, always holding my breath for five seconds, before letting the sweet scent escape my lungs. I look at the flower buds admiringly, grateful for their perennial characteristics.
“You know, these will be the last few days I’ll be able to get a hold of them,” the woman says quietly beside me. Her presence startles me and I jump, but her warm hand on my shoulder calms me down instantly.
Her gaze falls onto the flowers as well, and we both look at them sadly. She’s right. It’ll be winter soon, and I won’t be able to get these flowers again for another season. This saddens me, and my grip around on the bouquet tightens.
