Once, there was a star in the constellation Taurus.

In January of every year on Earth, the stars in Taurus were the brightest and the strongest, and so it had been for millions of years; and one night in January, that little star saw a tiny baby boy on Earth.

He was the most beautiful child it had ever seen, with raven black hair and glittering, dark feline eyes, and even though the star was hundreds of light years away from Earth, it could see the boy as clearly as if it was right in front of him.

And so, every year, the star waited for that particular month to see him.

Soon, that child grew up to become a beautiful young man, and the star realized something—it was in love with him. It had been in love with him from the moment it saw him, but the boy would never know that a star was in love with him.

One night in January, the star fell from the heavens, transforming into a shooting star so that the boy could make a wish upon it. The moment the boy made a wish would be the moment it died, the star knew; yet it was willing to sacrifice its life for the boy, if only to escape the millennia of loneliness and pain ahead of it.

However, the boy didn't make a wish. He didn't wish upon the shooting star, so the shooting star landed on Earth and became a human being called Baekhyun, with the purpose of granting that boy a single wish.
