+ tutorial - how to sharpen a gif
sweet • serenade ┊ hypervirus' galleryI've been really (like really) active on tumblr. Making edits and gifs. And I've been getting a lot of questions regarding how I sharpen my gifs. So here it goes. A tutorial of how I do it. Reminders. This is done on Photoshop, I dont know how to do it on GIMP. And I'm not gonna teach you how to actually make a gif, so you need to know how to make a basic gif. And never sharpen an LQ video, always do this on a 780p or 1080p MP4 file.
1.) once you're done with your gif, select all of the frames and set the time of all the frames to 0.07secs (you can do this in bulk by selecting every frame then change the time to 0.07secs)
2.) make sure all the frames are selected. then convert to timeline.
3.) select all the the layers in the layer palette (you can put them in a group if you're OCPD like me or idk) again, make sure all your layers are selected then right click > convert to smart object
4.) go to filter > sharpen > smart sharpen then follow my sharpen settings
optional: you can also add a gaussian blur
2.) make sure all the frames are selected. then convert to timeline.
3.) select all the the layers in the layer palette (you can put them in a group if you're OCPD like me or idk) again, make sure all your layers are selected then right click > convert to smart object

and there you have it \o/ you now have a sharpened gif.
