Once he unlocks the front door, he hears a few of footsteps come from their small kitchen. When put his bag on the couch and a pair of arms greets him from his back. He likes this moment; how he wishes the time stop, leaving him and the person he loves in this wonderfu--

Kris closed his laptop; gripping his own hair. He couldn’t write in this state. It’s painfully killing him inside when he kind of hope that he will be by his side. When he brought a cup of coffee to help Kris awake and gave him a loving massage while he’s finishing his new novel. He missed that sweet smile traced on his lips.

Kris small thought stopped when he heard a faint wail from next bedroom. He walked out quickly and opened the door where his son was sobbing on his bed. He flicked the switch and the light came on.

“Baba... Baba...” Kris carried his son on his arms; letting the kid buried his face on his father’s chest. Kris patted at the back of his son’s head.

“What’s wrong baby?” The little boy shook his head; still didn’t stop from crying.

“Taozi, boy doesn't cry, remember?” Kris smiled when he received a nod from his son.

“Now, tell baba what’s wrong.” Kris cooed lovingly and he heard small sniff came from his son as he has stopped from crying.

Tao looked up at his father, “Mama came into my dream again. Mama said Taozi will find that special person replacing mama.”

Kris stared at his son quietly as he continued to speak, “Then I said I don’t want that person to find baba because that person will make baba and me forget mama.”

The father wiped tears on Tao’s cheeks with his thumb. “And then mama disappeared. Mama probably mad with me.”

“Baby, we won’t forget mama because-” Kris brought Tao’s small palm on his chest, “mama’s name have been craved in my heart-” Then Kris brought that small palm on Tao’s own chest, “and deep in your heart, there are many memories of your mama that you couldn’t forget at all.”

A smile lit on Tao’s face. “Promise me, baba, that you won’t forget mama.”  Kris kissed his son’s forehead before muttered the word, promise.

“Now, now Taozi. Sleep with baba tonight, alright? I miss cuddling with my Taozi.” The young boy let out a giggle when his father nuzzled into his neck. Kris knew he only has his son, the one that can make he smile.
