Foreword
“Do you know what Esther means?”
“Uh, my name?”
“I mean, the word Esther not your name Esther.”
“Isn’t that the same?”
Luhan threw up his arms. “You’re frustrating, you know that?”
“Should I answer the first question or this?”
That’s Esther; sarcastic 24/7. She really wasn’t this mean on purpose, it was just a way to… hide herself. Just a disguise to cover her real feelings. Like right now, 10-year-old-her was absolute shy and giddy and happy all at the same time, because she was on the top of a small hill, gazing at the stars. With the boy she liked. Just the two of them alone.
“Let’s just rewind back to the first,” Luhan said as he shook his head and chuckled with his eyes closed. “Do you know what the word ‘Esther’ means?”
“No, all I know is that it sounds pretty.”
“It sounds beautiful,” Luhan smiled, making Esther’s heart skipped a beat. “It really does fit you, you know?”
“What does it mean?” Esther was downright curious.
“It’s the Latin word for ‘star’.” Esther turned her head and looked into Luhan’s brown, shining eyes. “It means ‘beautiful, shining star.’”
From that day on, Esther’s favorite symbol was a star.
