understanding seemed to dawn upon jongin then, and he had trouble trying to keep a grin from spreading. “you don’t know what a mistletoe is?”

“that’s what i’ve been saying all along,” joonmyun mumbled angrily. “i don’t know what it is and i sure don’t understand what it does.”

his statement seemed to take jongin by surprise, who looked over at kyungsoo for support. the two boys shared a look of utter confusion and disbelief, before they both simultaneously burst out laughing.

“what!!” joonmyun cried. at the look of his distressed state, the two boys started laughing even more, although jongin was the one that laughed the loudest -- kyungsoo was a bit more humane as he tried to hide his laughter behind his hand. it didn’t help, though -- he was still laughing and joonmyun felt even worse than what he did earlier.

he narrowed his eyes at the two boys who were still laughing, and huffed angrily. it wasn’t that funny. at least jongdae didn’t laugh for that long.  “i don’t know why i’m friends with you guys,” he mumbled grumpily before promptly faceplanting onto the cafe-table. maybe if he hit his head hard enough he’d pass out, and then maybe they’d stop bothering him and maybe help him instead.

when the laughter finally subsided after a suffocating couple of minutes, he glanced up at the two boys, who were looking at him with stars in their eyes. “what,” he bit out.

“you know, joonmyun, for having an iq of over a hundred-and-something, you’re very, very stupid.” kyungsoo smiled, but the gentle smile didn’t match the cruel words that he uttered. joonmyun sniffed sadly.
