"The roof of my apartment building."

"…What are you doing up there Kyuhyun-ssi?"

"I dunno, I thought about jumping at first."

"You're not now?"

"The ideas less appealing now that I'm feeling cold and numb as hell. It's freezing."

"Then why don't you go back inside?"

"I'm scared."

"How old are you Kyuhyun-ssi?"

"Seventeen, almost eighteen."

"Ah, so young…"

"How old are you then?"

"Me? Twenty-three thank you."

"You're not too much older then me."

"Why did you want to jump Kyuhyun-ssi?"

"Have you ever been hated Siwon-ssi?"

"Maybe once or twice."

"It's scary. I don't know how to act, because everything I do only makes them hate me more."

"Who hates you?"

"…"

"Kyuhyun-ssi?"

"There was a concert tonight. I had a solo."

"You sing?"

"No. I don't really want to anymore…"

"What happened?"

"They lied to me. The concert was at six, I was told it was at seven. When I arrived someone else was singing my song."

"Is that so bad? There will be other concerts."

"I wanted to leave…but they wouldn't let me out. After everyone left the auditorium, these guys dragged me in and made me stand on the stage and threw eggs at me."

"Why?"

"He wanted the solo. I was stupid and fought for it. It's not enough that I have the top grades in the class apparently, but I don't care about that, I just wanted to sing. But he wanted the solo too, so he tricked me and humiliated me…and when I got home…Appa didn't ask me why I had egg shells in my hair. He just demanded to know why after all the fuss I made to get him to let me sing, that I wouldn't even show up to the concert. Appa has never hit me before…"

"Sounds like he just lost his temper. Maybe he cooled down."

"He'll probably never let me sing again after this."

"Do you really think that's something worth jumping about?"

"No. That's why I'm just standing here like an idiot in the cold."

"So you don't plan on jumping?"

"I already told you that I don't want to."

"So why did you call?"

"A friendly ear. Talking makes me feel better...and I feel like if I don't say anything now, I might really hurt myself. And I'm scared…"

"Not many people would admit something like that to a stranger."

"It's because you're a stranger that this is so easy. I could never tell someone I actually know about all this. I'm a good coward huh?"

"You seem brave to me. After all, you stopped yourself."

"Pabo."

"Yah! I'm your Elder! You better watch your language young man."

"Ne~!"

"So what are you going to do now, Kyuhyun-ssi?"

"Firstly? I'm going to go inside and take a hot shower to wash this egg out of my hair. Then I'm going to bed."

"What about singing?"

"I'm not sure yet. Ask me again later."

With that the line went dead and Siwon stared down at the phone in his hand. Cho Kyuhyun…he was such a weird guy. And he seemed to have had a really crappy day on top of that, but…he had a feeling he wouldn't be seeing the younger's obituary in the paper tomorrow morning.
