Encounter At The End

Chapter 2 : R&R

Kibum gasped when he felt Jonghyun fall forward onto him, the sound of the stumble making him want to scream every obscenity under the sun. The creatures turned, and Kibum held his breath. They stared blankly, beginning to move and closing in on them. One touch. One indication that they were there and they'd be absolutely done. Kibum kept one arm secure under Micha, who shivered. He whispered to her to keep her eyes shut tight, then grabbed Jonghyun's hand with his free hand.

"This is going to sound insane, but run. Just ing run and do NOT let go of me," he commanded, his voice ridiculously low. He began to dart forward, pushing the zombies out of the way, ducking under their arms, his breath becoming more and more labored as he ran. The door to the apartment complex was closed still, the way he left it. 'Thank god,' he thought. 'Nothing inside.'

Once they reached the door, he slid the metal pipe he'd put in the handles out, pushing open the door and pulling Jonghyun in with him. He sealed the door with the same metal pipe, as well as a chain lock he'd found earlier on. He locked the doors and put a ring of key's into his pocket.

"I stole these from the security guard before I pushed out his dead body. This has the keys to everything; the control room, the basement, the lobby. Everywhere we would possibly need to control," Kibum said, panting softly. He set Micha down on her feet and smiled. "You can open your eyes now, darling. Everything is safe."

He turned to Jonghyun and patted his shoulder. "You didn't get bit, right? They aren't getting in here. I can promise you that you're safe." He gave a reassuring smile and held Micha's hand. "Now, considering the riskiness of losing power and the elevator screwing up, I always take the stairs. Do you need time to recooporate before we start heading up? My flat is pretty high up..."

Jonghyun felt like in some kind of daze. He heard Kibum’s words, but they reached him like through a veil. Quickly, unconsciously, he gazed down at Micha, who was still clinging onto the other boy, her eyes closed tightly, her small body trembling. He felt Kibum grabbing his hand and then they were running. And yes, it was probably the first time in his life, where he was basically running for survival.

It was digusting, passing those creatures when they were so close. They squeezed through them, and Jonghyun deeply thanked some higher deity that his legs seemed to be moving like he wanted them to. They manoeuvred rather swiftly through the mess of bodies. Jonghyun’s heart was beating much too quickly than was healthy, and his breath was starting to come in pants.

Finally they arrived at Kibum’s apartment building. The boy pushed open the door and they found themselves inside a dimly lit hallway. Jonghyun bend over, so that his hands were resting on his thighs, breathing in and out deeply, trying to steady himself again.

When he calmed down a bit, He straightened up again, gazing at Kibum, who was putting Micha back on the ground and talking to her in a soothing voice.

Jonghyun shook his head in reply to the other boy’s inquiry.

“No...I’m alright. Barely even touched them,” he said, taking another deep breath, his heart still pounding against his chest,” Yeah, thank you so much... And...uhm, I’m really sorry for what happened out there,” he felt like an idiot – they were nearly killed because of his stupid clumsiness.

He felt his cheeks get slightly heated, but he ignored that reaction.

“Ah, that’s alright... We can go up now, if you’re ready,” he said, smiling sheepishly.

Jonghyun bend down, this time moving Micha into his arms, it was the least he could do. And honestly, he needed to be close to his daughter right now, feel her warmth against his chest, and her sweet breath against his neck.

He left a soft kiss on her chubby cheek, ruffling her long, black hair a little.

“You okay, Micha?” He asked, smiling gently.

Micha nodded, then rested her head on Jong’s shoulder.

“Yes, daddy. But it scary,” she mumbled, burying her face into Jonghyun’s neck.

“I know, sweetie. You’re safe now,” he reassured, rubbing her back soothingly.

Then he gazed up at Kibum again, smiling a small smile.

“Alright let us go now,” he nodded his head, as if in self-affirmation,” And thank you again, mainly for keeping Micha save,” he said, feeling deeply grateful.

Kibum watched Jonghyun hold his daughter, seeing as she was like a source of sanity to him. It was nice, really. Kibum couldn't say he had that, or rather, the person he wanted to protect was no place to be found. Checking his answering machine every hour, Kibum had yet to hear anything from Taemin...

He nodded to Jonghyun's words and began to climb the stairs. Honestly, he felt bad about making Jonghyun climb so many stairs. Kibum lived on the fourteen floor, and if it weren't for his paranoia, he could take the elevator. But truth be told, he was afraid of those things whether there were zombies or not. He was scared of such a risky, enclosed space.

The climb up the stairs was long and tedious, but when they finally reached Kibum's floor, he unlocked the door, revealing a warm, well-kept apartment. Being the neat-freak that he was, even the apocalypse wouldn't keep Kibum from being clean. If anything, slaving over the sanitation of his apartment kept him sane. The color scheme to the place was a simple, black and white setup. More colorful paintings were hung on the walls to give the place a splash of color. The light coming from the windows and the glass doors of the balcony let in a blue-ish grey hue that shone on everything white in the apartment. Kibum took the bag of food from Jonghyun and set it on the counter in the kitchen, beginning to put things away.

"There's two bedrooms, so you and Micha can take them. I always end up sleeping on the couch anyway, so it's no big deal. I have a few rules. One, never leave the door open. I know there's none of those things in here, but I can admit that I'm a little paranoid. Two, don't turn the lights on during the day, and when you have them on at night, pull the curtains closed. I know those things don't have the best eyesight, but you can never be too careful. Three, if the phone rings, answer it. If it's someone named Taemin, hand me the phone immediately. You might have seen him at the dance studio. He was my assistant; the really pretty one. And rule number four is to never go out alone. If you know we need more food, we go together. I don't want t risk something happening and no one being around to help, okay? That's all there is. Micha looks tired, so if you want to have her lay down for a nap, my bedroom is the first door on the right," Kibum says, motioning to the hallway. He knew he'd thrown out a lot of information, but he was still panicked from earlier. He also wasn't used to living with other people. He'd hoped he wasn't being too cold to Jonghyun, because he was honestly fond of him. Whenever he'd come to the dance studio, he was always so kind.

Jonghyun had to admit that walking up all those stairs was rather exhausting, and especially after they had to run for the lives. The added weight of his daughter, who had her arms around his neck, snuggling into his chest, was also not making it easier for him. However, even though it made ascending the stairs more difficult, he still felt content holding Micha. He left a kiss on the top of her head, revelling in the familiar scent of her hair.

After some time they finally reached Kibum’s apartment door. Jong felt like his legs might fall off any moment - he wasn’t really used to such strains. When they entered the flat, Jonghyun let his gaze wander around it for a while. He liked the place, it had a cozy, warm atmosphere to it and he was sure that both himself and Micha would feel comfortable here.

He felt Micha stir in his arms, and her head raised from his shoulder. She looked around curiously, taking everything in. Jonghyun fixed his attention on Kibum, as the boy started to talk. He listened carefully, trying to memorize everything that he was saying. He nodded his head from time to time, to indicate that he was registering the other’s words. However, honestly, he found it rather difficult to concentrate at this moment, still feeling all shaken from what had happened before. The sight of those horrendous creatures creeping up on them just wouldn’t leave his mind.

“Yeah, you’re probably right. She could use a little nap,” he said, smiling at Kibum, feeling grateful for the other boy’s presence,” I’ll be back in a moment to help you with the food.”

He gave another smile before turning around and making his way towards the room that Kibum had indicated as his own. When he entered it, he didn’t even look around that much. He spotted the bed and sat Micha down on it. Then he put off the bag that he was still wearing on his back. He didn’t even know why, but he apparantly packed a pair of Micha’s favourite pyjamas – they were all pink and had little, yellow ducks spread all over it.

Jonghyun quickly dressed his daughter in the more comfortable attire, so that she could have a restful sleep. He found it totally adorable how Micha’s eyes were already falling shut and how her little body was swaying slightly while she tried to stay seated.

“Alright, sweetie, we can lay you down now. You are all sleepy, right?”

Micha nodded her head, a huge yawn escaping .

“Mhm, daddy... Micha very sleepy,” she said in a voice, that was bordering on whiny.

Jonghyun couldn’t help but chuckle slightly. He heaved her up into his arms – pulling back the bed sheets and laying her down on the pillow. Gently, he covered her with the blanket, leaving a warm kiss on her forehead.

“Now try to take a little nap, my princess. Daddy will come to wake you up later, so that you can eat something.”

Micha only nodded, turning around on her side, and pushing her face into the pillow.

Jonghyun smiled fondly as he gazed down at his precious daughter. With a sigh, he got up and walked out of the room again, silently closing the room behind him.

He made his way back to the kitchen.

“Micha fell asleep, she was really tired. I’m not surprised, it was quite an eventful day,” he told Kibum, running his hand through his hair.

He cleared his throat, suddenly feeling somewhat awkward.

“I...uhm, I’m really grateful for what you did for us. How will I be able to repay you,” he shook his head still in disbelieve of the other boy’s kindness,” Hmm, maybe I can start by cooking something. What did you manage to take with you from the supermarket?”

He asked, hoping that he could be of some help at least.

Kibum shakes his head and smiles, having put away everything while Jonghyun got his daughter situated in bed. He sat on the counter and crossed his legs, and he no longer looked worried.

"It's alright. I like doing the domestic stuff. Besides, you look like you need some rest, too. Honestly, I just like being able to help. It killed me to see the building down the block get overrun and not be able to do anything. I like to think of this as my redemption, you know? So you can just sit back and breathe. If I need anything, I'll let you know, 'kay?" he said, his voice soft and oddly comforting. He hops down from the counter and looks in the fridge. "So, what does Micha like? If there's one thing I pride myself in, it's the fact that I could make a damn good housewife if given the chance!" he chuckles.

Kibum was trying his best to be cheerful. He didn't want to think of the possibility of scaring or being intimidating toward Jonghyun and his daughter. Having almost lost them nearly immediately after he'd committed himself to protecting them, he felt he should be on his best behavior. He wanted to be a kind of guardian angel for them, which meant feigning a smile if it was needed.

He looked over his shoulder to Jonghyun. He looked winded, and he was obviously just getting over the shock of having gone through a swarm. He couldn't be blamed; those things were ing horrifying. However, despite his labors, he still looked handsome. It actually pissed Kibum off that he couldn't make any romantic advances toward the man, considering he had a child and was most likely straight.

He also couldn't help but curse the fact that he couldn't be romantically involved with ANYONE. It's not like he could just stroll up to the club and get it on with a y undead man. Obviously romance was not a priority, but damn, it would be nice. Shaking off these thoughts, Kibum redirected his attention to the fridge, looking for some appropriate food.

Fixing his gaze on Kibum, Jonghyun had the feelting realisation that the other boy looked adorable sitting atop the counter, crosslegged. He didn’t quite know where this thought suddenly came from, but he couldn’t stop that little smile that formed on his lips in reaction to that revelation. There was something childlike and carefree about him and it made him feel truly comfortable in Kibum’s presence.

Jonghyun had to admit that he felt rather relieved to not be in charge of cooking – honestly it would be best for everyone, if he wasn’t allowed to cook anything more complicated than instant ramyun. And even that didn’t work out well all the time. He cringed at the memories of his last cooking disaster – poor Micha really. He felt happy that his daughter will finally be able to eat something edible, because really, who was he kidding – Sekyung was never that great of a cook either.

He chuckled slightly at Kibum’s comment about making a good housewife. Immediately an image of Kibum wearing a pink apron entered his mind, and his smile vanished, as he found the sight strangely appealing. Jonghyun mentally shook his head, blaming his exhaustion for those odd thoughts that he kept having about the other boy.

“Ah, that’s kind of a relief. Honestly, I’m not too good at cooking...,” he admitted sheepishly.

He really appreciated Kibum helping them – the boy had a big heart, he knew that Micha could feel it, too, that’s why she had warmed up to Kibum so quickly.

Jonghyun walked over to counter, sitting down at one of the high chairs that were standing infront of it. He watched Kibum, as the boy gazed into the fridge, looking for something that they could eat today.

“Micha is... well, she is a bit of a food monster,” he said, laughing slightly,” You may not notice it, because she is so skinny, but she really likes to eat. Hmm, but I guess, the meal that would buy you her heart, would be anything pasta related,” he answered, smiling brightly.

He crossed his arms on top of the counter, lying his head down upon them, while he fixed his eyes on Kibum. He let his gaze roam over the other boy’s body, feeling strangely drawn to him. Those long, slim legs, narrow waist, pale, smooth-looking skin. And then there was his face – with those pretty pouty lips, majestic high cheek bones and feline-shaped eyes.

Jonghyun quickly seperated his gaze from Kibum, as he was starting to get slightly flustered. Damn, what had gotten into him today?

He cleared his throat, trying to desperately find a topic for a conversation, so that he could distract himself from his strange thoughts.

“So, uhm... that Taemin kid, is he your best friend or something?” he finally decided to ask, feeling oddly threatened by this guy that he didn’t even know.

Kibum could feel Jonghyun's eyes practically burning holes into his head, but he would have been lying had he said that he didn't enjoy the attention. He wanted to promise himself he wouldn't make any moves on the other, but if he kept gazing like that, Kibum would soon have to break that promise. He grabbed some alfredo sauce from the fridge along with some chicken, then went to the cabinet to grab some noodles. He filled a pot with water and put that on the stove. He sat on the counter again, next to Jonghyun, and smiled.

"Taemin is my best friend and, I guess you could say, he's like a son to me. I've been taking care of him since I met him in high school, and we've been close ever since. He's a cute kid, and I've been worried sick about him ever since this crap happened. He hasn't been picking up his cell phone....I just...I really don't want him to be dead. In some ways, I guess you could say he's my only friend. All my other friends had moved away, had kids, and lost contact," Kibum said, his voice becoming sad. He brought his knees to his chest and fought back tears that were threatening to fall. He'd thought he'd long since gotten over crying such things, and he hated crying in front of people.

"Sorry," he muttered softly, cursing his voice for cracking. "It's just the first time I've ever said those things out loud...I never realized how scared I was until now..."

Jonghyun watched the other boy move swiftly around the kitchen. It had a somehow soothing effect on him, seeing Kibum preparing their meal. His curious gaze never left the younger’s form, his eyes following him – honestly feeling like some kind of creep, but he just couldn’t look away.

He gave the boy a smile in return, as he sat down back on the counter. Jong felt slightly embarrassed at his actions, as his gaze fell on Kibum’s slim legs, which were now right in front of his face. He swallowed thickly, the inside of his mouth going dry at the sight.

He detached his gaze from the other boy’s shapely legs, to fix his eyes on Kibum’s face and listen to what he was telling him. The irrational jealousy that he had been experiencing regarding that Taemin guy, slowly disappeared as he heard Kibum talk about him. It seemed that he was indeed very dear to the boy, however, the fact that he was ‘only’ his best friend, somehow made him feel calmer.

Jonghyun grew concerned, as he saw tears gathering in Kibum’s eyes, and some part of his heart shattered as he watched Kibum curl up into himself – suddenly appearing so small and fragile. Jonghyun didn’t quite know what to do in this situation – they basically just met each other today. However, he still felt oddly drawn to the other boy, and seeing him so devasted and close to tears, he felt the urge to comfort him. But what could he do?

Never being one to think through his actions – Jonghyun sat down on the counter next to Kibum, and impulsively put his arm around the other’s shoulders, moving him closer into his body. He shivered slightly at the sudden contact shared between them now, however, he ignored his reaction, focusing his attention on Kibum.

“It’s alright, Kibum-ah. You’re allowed to be scared, I bet everyone is right now. I’m sure that we’ll find Taemin, don’t worry,” he tried to reassure the younger, his shoulder in soothing movements,” And now we have each other, right? We’ll keep each other save.”

Kibum was taken fully by surprise at Jonghyun's actions, though despite the impulsiveness, it was comforting. He felt more comfortable than he thought he ever did in Jonghyun's arms. He wiped his tears away and nodded, trying to get his tone of voice back in check before speaking. He had something against looking or sounding weak.

"Thank you," he murmured softly. "You're right. When I offered to let you and Micha stay here, I promised myself I'd take care of you two. I felt like...I dunno. I just need to, ya know? There's something about you two that makes me really care about you..." he admitted, looking up at Jonghyun.

He took in the older's features once more, suddenly noticing smaller details and fawning over them inside his head. He loved how distinct Jonghyun's jawline was, and how strong his arms were. His voice was beautiful, too, and it made Kibum wonder if perhaps the other had some experience in singing. He leaned into Jonghyun's touch, muttering another small thank you.

Kibum wouldn't deny that he liked- no, LOVED the contact. Having not talked to anyone living in the past few weeks, it made Kibum feel as if his sanity was slowly being replenished by Jonghyun and Micha.

Jonghyun felt strangely proud of himself for making the other boy stop crying. He definitely didn't like to see him with tears rolling down his cheeks - not when they were tears stemming from saddness.

"You don't need to thank me, Kibum, really. I'm very grateful for what you did for us. Otherwise, I don't know what would've happened to us," he trailed off, sighing softly, as he rested his had on top of Kibum's," I can see how much saver Micha already feels here. So, thank you for taking care of us."

Being so close to the other boy, he was suddenly invaded by Kibum's unique, intoxicating scent. It was a mixture between the saccharine sweetness of vanilla and a fruity hint of strawberries. He was sure that one could get addicted to it.

Again without thinking it through too much, he acted on impulse and took hold of Kibum's hand with his own, intertwining there fingers. He couldn't deny the huge wave of comfort that he felt coursing through his body at the touch, the connection between them.

"Hm, let's go back to the cooking now, what do you think? You can order me around if you want to. I can do all the dirty work," he offered, chuckling, trying to brighten up the mood.

Kibum felt his cheeks heat up as their fingers intertwined. He looked to Jonghyun and smiled. Acting on an impulse of his own, he kissed his cheek.

"Alright," he grinned. "If that's the case, grab that box of noodles and put half of them in the pot. The water should be boiling by this point. And grab that pan over there and put the chicken in it and start up the stove~!"

He pointed everything out and laughed. Admittedly, it was kind of fun to boss Jonghyun around, even if it was just to brighten the mood. He stayed on the counter, sitting crosslegged to watch everything Jonghyun did, just in case he did something wrong. He refused to have the meal that would win over Micha's heart be foiled by her own dad's clumsiness.

Jonghyun obviously wasn't expecting to receive a sweet kiss on the cheek from the other boy. He felt his face heat up with a burning blush. His heart was beating frantically in his chest as a reaction to having Kibum's lips touch his skin.

When he returned from his trance-like state induced by the kiss - he laughed softly as Kibum seemed to immediately dive into the role that he was given by the older. Already sending out orders to the self-proclaimed slave for tonight.

"Yes, boss! Everything will be done just as you wish," he reassured, saluting with a straight face, which was soon destroyed by an amused laugh escaping his lips.

He swiftly got up from the counter and started executing Kibum's orders. He found the noodles and put half of it into the pot with boiling water - that was easy enough for him to do. Now it was time for the chicken. He heated up the pan with some oil in it and threw in the chicken.

While stirring the meat, he gazed up at Kibum, experiencing his presence as slightly distracting. A blush formed on his cheeks again, as he realised that his eyes had probably been fixed too long on the other's pretty face.

"So, what's next, boss?" he asked after clearing his throat, and tearing his gaze away from Kibum," I knew that you would enjoy this," he chuckled, shaking his head, amused.

It was strange how the atmosphere has changed - nothing of their formerly gloomy mood was hanging in the air anymore.

Kibum couldn't help but laugh and giggle at Jonghyun's dorkiness. He was cute and immensely fun to be around, and quickly erased any bad or distracting thoughts Kibum might've had.

"Let's see~" he said, getting up and looking over Jonghyun's shoulder. He realized that the older was actually a bit shorter than he was, and he found that to be immensely adorable. "The chicken looks like it's almost done, so you can add the alfredo sauce to the pan and let that simmer with the chicken," he said, handing the sauce to Jonghyun.

He sat on the counter, this time next to (but not too close) to the stove. He crossed his legs once more and watched Jonghyun intently. Everything about him seemed too happy and beautiful to exist in the apocalypse. Even his manner of speaking and impulses seemed almost TOO kind. Not that Kibum was going to complain; he finally got to be happy and affectionate with someone again.

He looked to the windows and sighed, thinking about how dangerous everything was outside. If he could just telepathically bring food to them, he'd love to. They could just live in the apartment forever and be happy without a care in the world. Of course, he knew the absolute improbability of that wish...

Jonghyun really enjoyed listening to the other's laughter, and especially when he was the one who caused it. He hoped that he could at least somewhat lessen Kibum's fears and worries. Of course, Jonghyun was scared as well, but he had learned to be strong for Micha and now that he had both his daughter and Kibum with him - he wanted them to feel as save as possible.

He felt slightly nervous as the other boy got up and checked how his cooking was progressing. He really didn't want to do anything wrong, he wanted Kibum to look pleased.

"Ay Ay, boss, I'll do that. Thanks," he said, as he reached for the sauce that the younger was giving him, a smile on his lips.

He poured the sauce into the pan and stirred it around. At least, it was smelling tasty already - most of Jonghyun's meals smelled either burned or just inedible.

As Jong gazed up from the pan, he saw Kibum looking out of the window thoughtfully.

"Everything okay, Kibum?", he asked, while resting his hand down on the other boy's knee.

"Here, taste some of that and tell me if its ready to eat," he put some of the chicken and sauce on a spoon, blew on it to cool it down, before placing the spoon in front of Kibum's lips.

Kibum was snapped out of his thoughts when Jonghyun touched his knee, sending a kind of spark through his body. "Oh!" he gasped, then tasted the chicken and his lips.

"It's really good, Jong! You did a good job~!" he complimented the other, turning off the stove. "Now we just have to wait for Micha to wake up. What should we do until then?" he asks curiously, looking at the other.

He some sauce that was still on his upper lip, savoring the taste. Honestly, it was the first time in a long time that Key had had a real meal. Once all of the chaos broke out, he didn't exactly worry about making impressive meals. So long as he ate, he was happy. It was good to have a meal to share with people- especially people he cared about.

Jonghyun felt rather proud of himself when Kibum complimented the food that he has cooked. Sure, he probably wouldn't have managed it so well if the other hadn't told him what to do, but still - it was his first meal that actually turned out edible. He only hoped now that Micha would enjoy it.

Jonghyun suddenly found it difficult to speak, because as he gazed up to answer Kibum's inquiry - his eyes fell on the other boy's full lips. He swallowed thickly as he watched Kibum's tongue move over those lips, cleaning off the excess sauce that had been left there. Now Kibum's lips were glistening with saliva, and Jonghyun realised that his own mouth had gone completely dry - it was hard to swallow.

However as he finally managed to tear his eyes away, he gazed up at the other boy, giving him an awkward smile.

"Hmm, I don't know... but what recompansation am I get for my hard work?" he asked, teasingly.

Kibum laughed and hopped down from the counter, smiling. "It depends on what you want," he says, winking at Jonghyun. He wraps his arms around the other's neck just to . "It also depends on whether or not I was to supply it~"

He didn't expect Jonghyun to want anything too outrageous, nor anything romantic. He simply wanted to see what would happen. That was something Key was known for. He loved to experiment. And he loved to get answers via trial and error, which was perhaps why he knew so much about the undead lurking outside.

He breathed in Jonghyun's scent. It was musty, and could really only be described as manly in Key's book. He liked it, really. He rested his head on Jonghyun's shoulder and breathed it in more. It was addicting...
"Sorry," Key muttered softly. "I just haven't been held in awhile.."

Jonghyun felt his body stiffen in reaction to Kibum's sudden closeness. The other's arms were wrapped around his neck and he could sense his breath fanning against the side of his face. It made an involuntary shiver run through his body.

Soon, his muscles relaxed, probably due to the calmness that he suddenly experienced. He put his arms around Kibum's slender waist, absentmindendly moving his hands up and down. It was nice just standing like this - letting the other's intoxicating scent embrace him.

However, Jonghyun didn't understand why he was feeling this way. Why did he feel so drawn towards the other boy? Why did he make him experience happiness even in these tragic times? All these thoughts were giving him a headache. And for now the only reason that he saw (or more like, wanted to see) for his odd behaviour, was the obvious lonliness that he felt since Sekyung left him. He needed comfort and warmth. Kibum was here, willing to provide it.

He felt like a jerk just thinking that - was he playing with the other boy? But they were just hugging, right? Sharing comfort in difficult times. Still, Jonghyun felt a bitter taste develop in his mouth. Maybe this was one if those moments where he had to think through his actions and emotions, because right now, he felt awfully confused.

He raised his head from where it had been buried into Kibum's shoulder and gazed at the other boy.

"It's alright, Kibum. I understand. But... uhm I think I'll go and check on Micha now and then I'll take a shower before we eat," he said, trying to give the other boy a reassuring smile - but it probably didn't quite work out.

He loosened Kibum's arms from around his neck and walked into the room in which Micha was sleeping, without waiting for an answer. He felt like such a coward.

Kibum felt so at peace when he was being held that it felt like he was shoved out of an enjoyable trance when Jonghyun pulled away. He sighed and leaned against the counter, thinking over what had just happened. He groaned when he realized the gravity of the previous situation.

Jonghyun had just lost his girlfriend. His girlfriend he had a KID with. And Kibum was just hanging all over him like they knew each other. He felt like such an ; he should have thought through everything before he did it. Making sure the stove was turned off completely, he then headed to the couch and buried his face in a pillow.

Though he didn't know him long, Kibum knew he did have a fondness toward Jonghyun. Their drastic times only caused him to want to get closer. He felt selfish for being so touchy, though. He really needed to consider the feelings of the other, and he hated himself a bit for not going through everything in his head sooner. Groaning one more time, he rolled onto his back and looked at the ceiling.

',' he thought. 'I actually have time to think again.'

And as usual, thoughts of Taemin were the first thing to flood into his head. Where was he? How was he doing? Was he going to be alright? Was he already...? No! He mustn't think like that. But...what if he really was...dead?
