“Eun Jung, what is it that you wanted to meet up with me for?” your eyes were shimmering under the dim light in my living room. I gulped. I realized then, when your gaze sent a shiver down my spine – in a good way – that this would be much difficult than I thought it would be.

You never met me nowadays. I would not wake up to the routine text: “Rise and shine, baby! See you at school ^^” in the morning. I saw you less and less. And then you ask me for a reason for wanting to meet you.

I was horribly wrong. This would be so much easier than I wanted it to be.

I sighed and looked down at my feet, trying to avoid eye contact, because I knew I would slip back into the speechless state that I would be in whenever I saw your beautiful brown orbs.

“Byung Hun, what’s with giving me the cold shoulder nowadays? Aren’t we a couple? Do you think we should break up, since w-w-we…” I stuttered, the tears threatening, “…we don’t even talk now?”

I looked up, straight into your eyes, a new type of confidence filling me up.

“Do you even love me now?” Holding the tears back, I questioned. You had a poker face on, but what was that I saw twinkling in your eyes? Guilt?

No. I can’t sidetrack now and start hoping again.

“I thought you would never ask. I can’t do this anymore,” you sighed.

I don’t think you would ever understand the utter horrible truth of the pain that shot through my being in that second. And how the small shimmer of hope starting to radiate in me burst into small flames and disappeared.

“Eun Jung, let’s break up.”

I watched your retreating back before my vision blurred, sealing the world into a complete mess of colors.
