I was awake by a loud sound in the kitchen. Kai shouldn’t be home so who can that be? I cautiously follow the noise and it leads me to the kitchen.

“Kai-sshi you’re home” I said in relief, I was expecting a robber.

“My work start a bit late today so I thought of making breakfast for both of us” Kai tries to stir the substance that I can’t seem to recognize what it is.

“Kai-sshi I got it why don’t you rest while I make the breakfast actually you should call it lunch instead?”  I offer walking in the kitchen, Kai stays for a bit then left to the livingroom.  An empty bag was on top of the counter. I look over to the pot that substance looks nothing like curry *that looks nothing like curry* I empty it. I carefully washed all the burned inside the pot before remaking everything.

“Kai-sshi the food is ready” I call carrying the hot plate over to the table. Kai turns off the T.V and make his way over

“Why there’s only one bowl where is yours?” Kai ask looking confuse, sitting down on his usual chair.

“I have to head out in 10 minutes so I can’t eat with you” I take off the apron and place it on the top of the counter. I walk to my room to change Kai silently eat his breakfast.

“Where are you heading? I can give you a ride” Kai offers as I was putting on my black boots.

“Oh its fine I don’t want to bother you” I zip the boot and grab my keys

“I don’t have work until an hour later” Kai insist

“Okay then” I give in not wanting to push it any further. Kai went to his room and grab his keys before going to his car. I wait for him to unlock his car. It’s been a while since he takes me anywhere.

“Go in” Kai opens the passenger’s door for me. I smile at him before go inside the car. He walks over to his side; settle on his and turns on the car. I sit there quietly not sure how to make a conversation. Last time, I tried talking to him; it was very awkward for both of us. I rather not make him feel uncomfortable so I just stare out the window. Kai seem to know what I was thinking so he tries to start a conversation

“So…where are you going?” Kai ask keeping his eyes straight ahead. I have a habit of looking at people when I talks to them so I turns toward him making him turns and stare back.

“Kai-sshi please keeps your eyes on the road” I point ahead, I’m too young to die

“Okay” Kai chuckled and turns away

“My friend is planning to have a big party and he needs help with planning” I explain slowly so he can hear clearly

“Oh what kind of party is it? Is it a birthday party?” Kai ask turning to his left checking for cars, I have like a perfect view of his beautiful neck. *Wait what am I thinking?* I slap myself. Kai looks at me with a weird expression.

“Are you okay?” Kai ask with concerns

“Yes I just need to think a bit more clearly” I rub my cheek; I slap a bit too hard, I hear Kai laugh; it’s weird to hear him laugh. This is my first time hearing it. I stare at him with shock, obliviously he notice my expression and back to being serious.

“You haven’t answer my question”

“Oh I’m so sorry, the party needs to be special so…Kai-sshi turns right here and it’s that big house with the blue roof” I excitedly shift in my chair. Kai stops the car and I run out right away. Opps I forgot where are my manners? I run back to the car. Luckily, Kai is still haven’t drove away yet. Kai see me running back so he roll down the window.

“I’m so sorry I forgot to thank you, so thank you for giving a ride” I smile, he lightly smile back turnings on the car engine

“Min-young~~~~” Sehun wave from his house, I smile and wave back

“Wait…”

“Yes? What is it Kai-sshi?”

“My work will not start anytime soon, do you mind if I come in too?”

“Oh sure, I don’t think Sehun mind he’s a very nice person, but still I need to ask him first. Wait for me right here okay?” I wait for Kai approval before running to Sehun. I didn’t expect Sehun to give me a bear hug and even spin me around a few times

“Wow wow Sehun I don’t want to puke on your new shirt. Let me down right now” I feel dizzy already. Sehun grins and set me on my feet.

“How did you know it’s my new shirt?”

“Not only the shirt, the whole outfit is new; wait…my husband work won’t start until an hour later can he join us for a bit?” I points toward Kai’s car

“Sure since he already here” Sehun beamed

“Okay I will go get him; you should go inside first it’s cold out here” I push Sehun inside his house before make my way back to get Kai. Kai already parked his car and half way to the driveway.

“Sehun is my best friend since we were little. He’s very nice” I inform hoping that these two would get along. Sehun’s house is enormous cleaning his house would be my worst nightmare. Sehun is sitting on his sofa waiting for us. I sit opposite from Sehun and Kai sit next to me.

“Sehun this is my—husband” I stutters it’s weird to say that in front of Kai

“Hi my name is Sehun” Sehun offer a hand

“Kai” they both shook hands, but I couldn’t wait the question that I been holding inside

“So I can decorate this house however I want?” I grins waiting for his answer

“Yes you know how important this is to me. If this fails I would…” Sehun hand forms a fist.

“Okay-okay no need to tell me. I won’t fail” I laugh to myself. I’m going to make this the best party ever. In the corner of my eyes I can see Sehun and Kai exchange glances and Sehun mouthed “She’s crazy”

“Hey I’m not crazy” I slap Sehun arm hard; stick my tongue before running away from the angry Sehun

“That hurts” Sehun shout before chasing after me. I run around his kitchen

“Help!!!” I launch myself to Kai, who happens to have his arms open wide

“Good Kai hold her down for me”

“If you hit me I won’t decorate your party” I shout with my eyes close, ready to get punch from Sehun and I didn’t feel anything *Yes!! My blackmail works*

“You lucky that Kai is here or else…” Sehun mumble the rest, I just grin at him. After few moments, we continue to discuss about the party and how I’m going to decorates and what I need.  I mean this party needs to be perfect. I would turn his house to a romantic castle. I need a lot of help on designing the water fountain; I want it to be the most unique fountain, so that Sehun can--- 

“Oh my look at the time” Sehun looks at his expressive watch

“You’re late for your work” I gasp I didn’t realize that it’s 8P.M

“It’s alright I already told my secretary that I won’t go to work today” Kai smiles

“I’m so sorry. Kai-shi you must be tired we should leave” I pull him up, Sehun raise an eyebrow and stare at me like I have three heads

“What?” I ask, *why does he look at me like this?*

“No jus—nevermind” Sehun just shakes his head signing. *What did I do wrong?*

“Sehun it’s nice to see you again” I give Sehun a hug

“Good to see you too kiddo” Sehun pat my head

“I’m married now not a kid anymore”

“You still behave like a kid”

“Oh really?” I smirk evilly before kicking his leg. I grab Kai and run pass Sehun who is on the floor at the moment.

“Open the door quick” I shake the confuse Kai. I quickly opens the door and jumps in. “Kai hurry if he catch me now I will be dead”

“You two---” Kai mumble shaking his head I laugh out loud holding on to my stomach. I had to stop laughing because Kai got a phone call

“Hello?” Kai put his phone on speaker

“KAI WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? YOU SKIP WORK TODAY WHEN...” Kai turns the speaker off, but I can still make out what his father is saying. *It’s my entire fault why didn’t I keep track of the time? His father must be really mad right now* eventually, his father hangs up, Kai put down his phone and acts like nothing happened

“Are you hungry? You didn’t eat anything this morning” Kai ask, his voice is extremely calm, *how can he be so calm? I would have freaked out if my father yelled at me like that.*

“No I’m fine” I was betrays by my growling stomach. I quickly grab it hoping that Kai didn’t hear it. However, Kai turns into a fast food restaurant. I signs I bring nothing, but trouble to him.

“Can I have two chicken sandwiches please” Kai didn’t have to ask for what I want he knows that I’m a chicken maniac.

“Thank you” I thanked as he hand me the chicken sandwich. Kai couldn’t eat since he’s driving. *I feel so bad, what should I do? Oh I got an idea*. I open the sandwich that was meant for Kai. I wait for a red light and when Kai completely stop the car. I hold the sandwich in front out his mouth. Kai was surprise at first then he takes a few bites before the light turns green. I pull back waiting for the next light. Somehow, Kai finish the sandwich before we get home. I unlock the door and hang my coat in the closet next to the main door.

“I’m going to rest” Kai announce before going to his room, while I head to mine. *Yes we have separate rooms since we didn’t married because we love each other. I suggested that we should use separate rooms and he agreed*. I change into my pajamas; I think I should continue my drama.

 

Next day

“Good morning” I was greeted by Kai standing by the main door

“Morning” I reply still half asleep

“I have to leave for work right now. Breakfast is on the table” Kai said before rush to his car. I wave goodbye to him. *This is weird he never even eat breakfast. Yesterday and now today too, why is he acting like this? He is a bit weird lately. Man I’m so bored there nothing to do today except planning for Sehun party again. I already got everything in my head; I already plan it last month when I first suggest it to him.* I just cleans the house and watch movies to make time fly a bit faster. I flip through the channel, *oh Sehun’s fashions show* Sehun is a famous designer. He always host and designs for runways. He get to meet with famous people while I’m here watching it at home…alone.

“Who’s there?” I heard someone punching the door. I use the remote as my weapon

“Open the door!!” Kai shout, I get on my feet and run to the door. I open the door to find a very mad and drunk looking Kai. I stood aside so he can go in, but he just stand there and glare at me. I can smell alcohol from him. *Why is he so drunk?*

“hey wifey~~” Kai grins taking a unstable step toward me. I caught him as he lost his footing.

“Kai-sshi”

“Stop calling me that” Kai shout pushing me away and gain support from the walls instead. “We are husband and wife, how come you use ‘sshi’ like I’m a stranger or something” Kai try to walk to his room, but there no way he can get there without hurting himself.

“Let me help you” I offer grabbing his arm

“No I don’t need you” Kai brush my hand away; he ends up falling to the floor. I didn’t ask for permission this time. I just grab him and help him up while he mumbling nonsense. I place him onto his bed; I stood there panting hard *man since when did he get so heavy?* he looks uncomfortable with his denim jacket and his shoes. Signing, I take off his shoes and socks. Next I lean over his body to take off his jacket.

“Come here” Kai grab my hand and pull me down. I fell onto the bed, Kai wrap his arm around me. I try to get away from him, but that only make him hold on even tighter. I hate the smell of alcohol, I promised myself not to marry an alcoholic. Kai is not an alcoholic, but his job requires him to drink sometimes. I still hate it, he’s shouldn’t be drinking its bad for his lungs. Suddenly Kai grab my chin and kiss me. I was shock to feel his lips against mine. Slowly, I close my eyes and enjoy the kiss. Kai hands grab onto my waist so he can deepen the kiss; I put my hands on the back of his head pulling him closer. Crap I need to stop before…Kai pull away and lay back. I sign in relief as I watch Kai sleeping like a little kid. I unconsciously rub my lips, *I can’t believe I felt butterfly when he was kissing me and I kissed him back. I need to wash my face* I rush to the restroom and plash cold water on my face. *What just happened? Nothing happened it’s just a kiss, we husband and wife after all.* I place a hand on my chest try to calm my rapid heart. This is weird our first kiss was at the wedding; WAIT…actually this is our first kiss. Kai only kiss my cheek at the wedding. Kai make sure that from the audience angle it looks like we were kissing. *I’m just going to sleep and forgot about everything, I’m pretty sure he will too*

Next day

I wake up by the noises come from the kitchen again, but I didn’t want to see Kai so I just lay there. *Why is it so cold today?* I grab the blanket and cover myself. I can’t go back to sleep at all it’s too cold. I need another blanket; I went to the closet and grab another one. It’s still so cold; I think I’m going to turn on the heater.

“Min-young, are you okay?” I roll over to find Kai staring at me from the door.

“Yeah I’m just a bit cold” I smile, Kai look confuse for a second then walk over to the side of my bed. He place a hand on my forehead

“You’re burning” Kai panic

“Oh” no wonder I feel so cold

“Let’s go to a doctor” Kai suggest

“No it’s just a fever it won’t kill me”

“But—”

“It’s okay, I will feel better after I rest” my eyelids start to feel very heavy, I stop fighting against and close my eyes. After few minutes I feel something cold on my forehead. I see Kai sitting on the side of my bed and place a cold towel on my forehead.

“Thank—” the rest were cut off by my violent coughing.

“Here some water” Kai help my head up and hold the glass next to my mouth. I drink the water and Kai place my head back down.

“I’m so cold” I said while shivering

“I will get another blanket, ouch…” Kai grab onto his head in pain

“Are you okay?” I abruptly sit up to check on him

“I’m fine just I’m hangover from last night” Kai hiss, I feel my cheeks turns red as I remember about last night

“Kai-sshi you should go rest”

“No I will watch over you to make sure everything is okay” Kai stubbornly sit back down on the side of my bed

“But you are tired too; the headache won’t go away if you don’t rest” I meant to push him off my bed, but too weak to even move him.

“No I’m staying” Kai grab onto my hand to stop me from pushing him. *Fine then* I stop pushing him. He won’t leave this room, but he needs some rest too.

“Then here lay down” I scoot over enough space for him to lie down. Kai take few second to process what I just said. He put his phone on the drawer before lying down next to me.

“Are you still cold?” Kai ask lying on his side and face me. I nodded, my body feels so cold. Kai suddenly grab the blanket and also put it over his body. His arms go around my back and pull me closer to him. I was surprise at his action. His body heat is so warm, I snuggle close to him.

“Better?” Kai rest his chin on top of my head

“Thank you” I said against his chest

“Sleep” Kai whisper before drifting to his dream land after few seconds I also fell asleep.

*Slam*

“KAI YOU----” A loud voice scream, I cover my ears. I open my eyes to see my father in law standing by the door.
