Inside the Mirror (Fable me this Contest Entry)
Description
The mirror can lie, it always lies on the outside, it's doesn't show what's on the inside of someone. I thought it could tell me that we were full of life, that what I see in front of me is the truth, and not the lie that I've been too blind to see. It's amazing what someone can hide by just putting a smile on their face; but I've seen past this man's smile, I've seen the dark side and I'm going through the mirror, I'm facing the truth... I know now, fine feather's do not make a fine bird, nor does any disguise hide one's true nature... I'm afraid of his true nature, I really am, but apart of me, apart of me believes that what I'm seeing, I can change it; just maybe change it all.
Lee Yejin, better known as Amy Lee has always found truth within' her boyfriends smile, his passion for her, his love; never once had she doubted Chansung's love for her... Well not until a certain mirror at a local pawn shop tells her other wise. Past the glass and wooden frame lies another world that only speaks and shows the truth about the real world, and everything Amy had thought was perfect, turns out to only be a lie on top of nothing but more lies... But even with the truth in her face, she still feels like some how, some way, things could change.

Prologue:
'I- love him...'
She spoke to herself, staring down at the small locket held in her hand, it had been the one Chansung had given her for their first anniversary in celebration of them being together for a year at the time; now the clasp being hooked and unhooked over and over again she couldn't seem to hold it properly, her fingers trembling; she was trying not to drop it, but how could she not, how could she just look past everything and keep this worthless object? The locket popped open for her with a soundless snap, Amy unsurprised staring down at the small pictures standing clear for her eyes to examine, she could feel the tears stinging at the tip, ready to spill over any minute. Chansung's smiling face was so beautiful compared to hers, whose in turn seemed to be so dull...Had they always looked so awkward? It was like she was standing next to an angel; no he only had an angel face! There was no angel inside that thing known Chansung. Amy sniffled loudly, running fingers through long dark hair, moving it aside as tears streaked her face. Why was she in love with that lying monster, why was he hiding such a thing from her? Amy scrubbed her face harshly with a free hand ridding her cheeks of the tears that were coming, the other practically crushing the locket into her palm. She needed to get rid of this thing, it obviously didn't mean anything to him and it wasn't going to mean anything to her. Pushing her self from the stairs she sat upon, Amy held her chin high as she descended them and made her way from the house, she was going to rid herself of this pain... If she could...
