Painter Of My Dreams

Description

I'm redoing my Beast fic. In this version, Kikwang is at his son's home with the grandchildren on the anniversary of his marriage and death of his wife. The other members are there with him with their wives and children and grandchildren as the group is still very close. During dinner, one of the grandchildren asks Kikwang how he met his wife as he never talks about her. Not many know the story of him meeting his wife. As he starts telling the grandchildren everyone else listens. I'll be going back and forth between present and past.

Foreword

Kikwang watched as his grandkids chased each other around the backyard of the summer home that'd his entire family and the other member's had been coming to since Kikwang's son was a child. He smiled, sadly. He wished Madison was here to see them. She would have been so happy to know the only rebellious child in Korea had settled down.

Madison was his wife. She died from a car accident a month before their first grandchild had been born on their anniversary. She had been driving home from seeing the rebellious child when a drunk driver lost control of his car and slammed into her little Beetle she's had since high school. The paramedics said she died on impact. There was nothing that could have saved her.

"Hey Kikwang. How are you doing?" Sarah, Yoseob wife and mother of Yoseob's kids, came up to him asked. He looked over at her with sad eyes. Sarah had been Madison's best friend since middle school when they still lived in America. They both moved to Korea after graduating from college. She had been there when the call came threw telling him Madison died.

"I don't know." He told her honestly. She patted his arm.

"Neither do I. Yoseob and the kids and grandkids can only help so much. I miss her too." she told him. She handed him a plate. "Come on. It's time for dinner. Doojoon is trying to hurdle the kids to the table."

Kikwang stood up from the chair he had been sitting in. He walked over to the dinning room table. The other ex-members of Beast were sitting there except for Doojoon. Their wives were sitting next to them. Noised streamed through the back door as the grandchildren came running inside. Everyone took their seat as the food was laid onto the table.

There was only one empty sit. It was next to Kikwang and still had the purple hoodie on it from the last time they were here. Madison was still alive then. She had thrown that hoodie there and never picked it up. She had a habit of doing that. No one wanted to be the one to disturb the memory. Everyone was trying to avoid looking at it. The awkwardness of not having Maddie there was still hanging in the air even after several years.

Kikwang looked up from staring at the chair to see his and Dongwoon's granddaughter talking. Dongwoon's granddaughter was nudging his and pointing towards him. Hyunseung's grandson leaned over to say something to his granddaughter. Hyunseung's grandson had always been able to get his granddaughter to do something that will get her in trouble. She sighed and looked over to Kikwang.

"Grandpa." Kikwang's granddaughter called out to him from across the table.

"Ne?" He replied."

Will you tell us stories about Nana?" she asked him. Kikwang froze. Everyone froze except for the grandkids. They've been wanting to heard about Madison for a long time. They never got to meet their Nana. That's what they call Maddie. The grandchildren called the other members' wives Grandma then their name.

Madison would have had a heart attack if  she heard them calling her Grandma.

"What kind of stories?" he asked. Maddie would have wanted for them to know about her if they didn't get to know her, Kikwang told himself.

The grandchildren talked amongst themselves. Then Kikwang's granddaughter nodded seriously to all the grandkids and looked up at her grandfather.

"What did she look like? What was your first meeting? What was your first date? What were some of her habits? And then just random stories that you can think of. And anyone else can add in on the random stories part." she answered him.

"What did she look like?" Kikwang asked. 'Well. She...
