Dear Onew-ssi,

     Hi! My name is Waterdrop and I just wanted to write you a letter, a simple letter (it’s not much so don’t get disappointed by the end of this weird letter, okay?). Among many, my letter might not even get to you, but if it does, I thank the Heavens for this miracle.

I might be a “mere fan,” but please don’t take these words lightly. In fact, I hope these words I’m about to say – or write – help you during the hard times you suffer from. I remember watching one show, actually, where you confessed that you have slumps all the time. The moment I heard those words, whether you said it jokingly or not, my heart seemed to freeze and drop to the pit of my stomach.

Onew-ssi, there is no need to get sad. There are so many fans that are rooting for you and I am only one of thousands. (By the way, did you know that your personal fans are called MVPs which was inspired by the little segment in your debut song?) We may not be able to confront you one-on-one (actually, that’s a rather scary thought for you, isn’t it? I completely understand – some fangirls are quite scary) and tell you how much we love you and appreciate you, but I hope that somehow, you got our message.

I don’t know what the life of an idol is like since I’m only a college student trying to follow my own dream, but I hope it counts when I say this: you will get through all the hardships you come face-to-face with. I mean, I may be a fan, but I’m not psychic so of course I can’t see through your smiles – are they real or fake? (I hope I’m not being too blunt or anything because that is definitely not my intention.) What I’m trying to say is, hwaiting! Even if you are very cheerful right now, I hope this letter made you even happier. And I definitely hope that this letter will be able to cheer you right back up into your little sangtae and give you all the energy you need. Hm… like those Energizer bunnies!
