Kevin glanced stealthily to his left, admiring the view he had of his crush. Strong profile, silky hair, sparkly brown eyes and a charismatic presence; Kevin's crush wasn't what you'd consider a normal crush. You see, Kevin was gay. Homo and proud. He flounced down the halls and chatted with the girls about all the latest trends, he was sassy and he thought girl's s were fascinating rather than something ual. He was your rather stereotypical gay. But what made his crush even more unusual was that he was crushing on his best friend.

Ok, so maybe it wasn't quite that unusual, more stereotypical if anything, but it wasn't normal for Kevin. Up until high school when he'd met Eli, he'd crushed on girls like every other normal boy in the world. He'd done his fair share of flashing for fun. Even for the majority of freshman year Kevin flirted with girls and asked them to go on dates with him. But when he met Eli that all stopped. All he wanted to do was spend every minute of every day with him - creepy as that sounds. He wanted to be the one Eli called on when he was in trouble - which was often considering how he was the playboy of their school. He wanted to be more than just Eli's best friend.

And that was when Kevin realised he was gay. The minute he realised that he was gay, he freaked out and asked the hottest girl in school out on a date. Being quite good looking himself, if not a little feminine, she agreed and so they'd gone on a date. But it hadn't ended well. When the time of the night came around to drop her home and kiss her goodnight; Kevin could not bring himself to kiss her - she wasn't the one he loved -, so he left her wanting. But much to his chagrin, the next time he went to school, she'd convinced herself that he was treasuring her and that was why he hadn't kissed her. She couldn't have been any more wrong.

It was around that time that he realised that the best thing for him to do was come to terms with his feelings. So that's exactly what he did. Little did he know that his feelings were to change with Eli's new quest. Eli had had his way with nearly every girl in their high school except for one. She was difficult. She had no interest in him. She had no interest in being a conquest of his. It was for that reason that Eli was going after her. And it was for that reason that he broke her heart. And it was because of this turn of events that Kevin started developing feelings for her... but that's for later in the story.
