Foreword
The crunch of freshly fallen snow beneath my feet echoed through my ears. It was already midnight and the streets grew silent as I made my way home. It had just begun to snow as I left the restaurant. My friends insisted that they give me a ride home, but on nights like this I enjoyed being alone; it had been a long time since I had walked home on a snowy night.
