It starts with one.

Just one person to burn the world. She died, and then woke up the next day and stabbed her doctor. She didn't say why. She couldn't say why. She was far gone, angry at a world that didn't exist, a world that she was infecting with every breath she took. She was the beginning of a new age.

In exactly two days, her insanity had spread to the next state over. In a week, it was around the world. In half a month, it was unclear if there was a world anymore.

That was how the year 2014 started. With the end of everything.

Scientifically speaking, these weren't zombies or monsters or anything of the like. These were simply delusional people, who were being controlled by unhindered impulses triggered by a chemical explosion in the brain. Their half-eaten appearance was something else all together, but these were not zombies.

Yet, the scientists were gone, either dead or hidden, and the zombies are sill here, beating their way through everything as the few are let uninfected and travel the world, trying to bring about cure and change.

In the middle of this are two boys, trying not to sink into this blood-drenched world. Trying not to lose each other...

Or themselves.
