Chapter 16: Fearless   Day 5, 1pm, SNSD van   Seohyun watched as the scenery turned from the busy city to the familiar outskirts. Her manager oppa left her alone, without asking her questions.    Secretly she thanked him for respecting her decision to see Hyoyeon, but she also wished he had stopped her. Now, nearing Hyoyeon's house, she felt a bit queasy.    Watching her phone light up for the umpteenth time, Seohyun switched it off calmly, ignoring the messages from her unnies. Catching a glimpse of Taeyeon's latest message, she sighed heavily.    Seohyun knew her unnies were worried.  Who would leave a short note with just the words: "Unnies, I'm chasing Hyoyeon", and then dash off without saying anything else?    From the short duration of her journey, she was met with the messages of her worried members. It was a wonder how she managed to ignore all of them.    "Seohyun, we're here," Manager oppa announced, looking worriedly at the youngest member. It was normal for the maknae to be quiet throughout the journey, but the girl hardly commented on their seat belts which were still unfastened.    "Gomawo, oppa." Seohyun smiled, letting him open the door for her. He watched as the youngest (but one of the tallest) member slowly walked towards Hyoyeon's house.    Sighing as he watched her clumsily trip before quickly regaining her posture, she grinned sheepishly and waved yet again. He left her then, promising to pick both her and Hyoyeon up soon.    Seohyun watched as he manager oppa drove away from the house, still scared to face the dancing queen. She sighed deeply when the familiar van sped away, turning to ring the doorbell.    Before her foolishness could catch her again, she determinedly pressed the doorbell. Suddenly freaking out, Seohyun's heart thudded quickly in her chest, waiting for Hyoyeon to come out.    "Oh, umma?" Her eyes widened in surprise as she saw Mrs Kim open the door. All 9 members were close with every mother, treating them like their own.    "Seohyun ah, come in! I haven't seen you in awhile," Mrs Kim patted the younger girl's shoulder, opening the door wider.    Before Seohyun could ask any questions, Mrs Kim started," Looking for Hyoyeon, right?"    "H-how did you know?" Seohyun stammered, butterflies filing her stomach again.    "My other daughters have been calling non stop to ask if you were here. They're worried, you know. You left unexpectedly." Mrs Kim's stern glance fell upon Seohyun's face.    She felt like a mother towards the 9 of them, even if it wasn't true, they'll always be her daughters.   "Mianhe, umma! I better call Taeyeon unnie!" Seohyun panicked, forgetting her mission temporary.    "I told them you'll come. She's still sobbing, you know." Mrs Kim watched as Seohyun's face fell, knowing that she was on the right track.    "Where is she, umma? I need to see her." Seohyun whispered, looking around the house.   "I put her to sleep. She's better off that way for now." Mrs Kim sighed, glancing at her daughter's room. Over the hours, Hyoyeon lost her shine, her eyes were red from crying and her voice hoarse.    "I'm sorry, I didn't know," Seohyun bit her lip, mentally scolding herself for playing around like that.    "It's ok, I know you'll work it out. You're a smart girl, Seohyun. You're her cure," Mrs Kim smiled, pulling Seohyun towards Hyoyeon's room.    "Now go wait for her to wake up. I'm sure she'll be fine."    --------------------------------   Meanwhile, Narsha and JeA were still practicing.    "Pour the love potion into the jug and sprinkle your channeled magic, Narsha!" JeA reminded the concentrating girl.   "I can do this. Because if I don't, I can't see CNblue perform anymore. I can do this. I can. I can," Narsha mumbled, pouring the red liquid with her shaking hands.   "Please let me see Yonghwa again please," Narsha silently prayed before drawing her magic wand to cast her spell.   JeA watched as Narsha recited the spell perfectly. She nervously but her fingers, waiting for the reaction.   She winced as she remembered the previous times when Narsha tried to channel magic. Once, she caused the whole red potion to erupt and cause an explosion. Another time, she turned the red potion black and squealed, saying that it was cursed.    How could one assignment turn into a hell affair?    "OH MY GAWD COCKROACHES EW EW JEAAAA!" Narsha screeched as her red potion turned into a jug of nasty bugs. JeA sighed, wiping out her wand to clear the mess.   "NARSHA. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?" JeA hissed, after Narsha had finished screaming her head off.    "I was thinking that maybe if I could recite the words in a more powerful manner I could-" Narsha tried to cover up but received a death glare from JeA.
