Kim Jongin doesn't care. He's never cared. Not about his messed up bed hair, not about his smoke-stained breath, and definitely not about the stains and wrinkles on his shirts. His time is so copious that he feels as if life is at a standstill. Everyday, he shows up late for work. Every week, he slips past deadlines. Every month, his rent remains unpaid until the end of the next. He lives by the law of procrastination. But when Jongin accidentally knocks his stack of assignments over and the sheet of paper with "Do Kyungsoo" is the only one facing up, he decides to call and make an appointment to see where that name will take him.

He finds that it takes him far. Really far. He asks himself many questions because he doesn't understand the changes going on in his life. It starts with arriving early to the appointments with Do Kyungsoo, who he finds out is the entertainment industry's highly anticipated trainee. It continues when he hands the article he wrote on the singer in early. Their appointments eventually turn into casual meals with comfortable exchanges of both words and silences, and maybe a bit more.

Jongin begins to discover that he cares. He cares when Kyungsoo debuts and his schedule makes his dark circles five shades darker than they were when he was a trainee. He cares when Kyungsoo tells him his apartment stinks and that he should stop smoking so they can spend more time together in the future. The time and future he assumes will never terminate, contrary to Kyungsoo's belief.

But no one's time is ever stagnated. Soon enough, he finds himself caring so much that he breaks his own laws. So much that he's counting the months, which soon turn into weeks, days, minutes, and mere seconds. He tries to slow everything down, but when his frozen lips permanently remove the colours of his voice, and when his fingers slowly slip through the gaps of his, he knows it's too late.
