-At FT Island’s practice room-

“Ok. Let’s start practicing from the very first song on our list.. Top secret..” Jonghun said as the group got ready for practice. Minhwan tapped his drumsticks twice and the band started on the song.

“STOP!!!!! Jaejin-ah, what’s wrong? Did you forget your lyrics?” Hongki looked at Jaejin in concern. Jaejin shook and bowed his head as a sign of apology. “Let’s do it over again from the start.” As the band started rehearsing again, as they played Seunghyun couldn’t stop peaking at Jaejin wondering if he was okay… His hyung had been acting weirdly since he went out with his girlfriend last night.

“Okay let’s take a break for now..” Jonghun said as he placed down his guitar and walked out of the room with Hongki. Minhwan rushed to Seunghyun’s side excitedly, asking him if they should have chicken for dinner. Seunghyun smiled at Minhwan and reminded him that they just had chicken for breakfast. While they were talking, Seunghyun couldn’t help but to glance to his side, where Jaejin was sitting at staring at blank space. Minhwan was jumping up and down excitedly when Seunghyun finally agreed on having chicken for dinner.

Seunghyun watches as Jaejin seem to stagger out of the room and ran out of the room leaving poor, clueless Minhwan alone. Seunghyun followed quietly behind his hyung wondering where he could be going.

“Jaejin hyung?” Seunghyun called out quietly, so that he would not bring unnecessary attention from others to himself. He grabbed onto Jaejin’s hand when the latter almost walked into a wall. Jaejin snapped back to his senses and looked at behind him to see the magnae there.

“Ah thank you, Seunghyun.. I wasn’t paying attention…” Jaejin said as he pulled his hand away from Seunghyun’s grip and walked back to the practice room. Seunghyun looked at his hyung’s back as he trails behind him.

Did something happen between the both of them yesterday? Seunghyun thought as he entered the room.

-In the dorm-

As soon as the band entered their dorm, they immediately went into their respective rooms. Seunghyun, instead of going into his and Minhwan’s shared room entered Jaejin’s room. Jaejin was about to close the door when he noticed Seunghyun leaning against the door.

“Seunghyun-ah did you go into the wrong room?” Jaejin asked as he walked into his room, expecting Seunghyun to leave the room and shut the door for him. Instead the taller boy walked into the room and locked the door behind him. Jaejin was shocked when Seunghyun pulled his hand, signalling him to sit on the bed. He was reluctant to sit down, until he saw Seunghyun’s determined look on his face.   

“Well Seunghyun-ah, you can’t just budge into people’s room like that… So what brings you here?” Jaejin tried to keep a firm voice as though trying to chase him out of the room. Seunghyun wrapped his arms around Jaejin and gave him a hug. He knew that his hyung was hurting on the inside just from the way he spoke.

Jaejin struggled to escape from the younger boy’s arms but the rapper was too determined to let go of him. Jaejin finally gave up and cried on Seunghyun’s shoulder. He had been through so much. Heartbreaks after heartbreaks, he just wanted to give up already.

Seunghyun held the bassist in his arms and patted on his back as he cried in his arms. Seunghyun’s heart hurt every bit, just looking at the crying boy. He knew that it was wrong to like a person of the same gender. He knew that he shouldn’t even be harbouring feelings for his own hyung, but he couldn’t stop himself from falling further in love with the older boy.

Seunghyun waited for Jaejin to calm down before, pulling him up and whipping the tears from his eyes. He waited further for Jaejin to tell him what happened, prompting silently to his hyung as though asking him to confide in him.

Jaejin didn’t think that Seunghyun would just sit there and wait for him to finish crying, but he did. Jaejin finally decided to tell him when he had finally calmed down.

“Seunghyun-ah… We broke up.. She said she’s tired of hiding our relationship from the public..” Jaejin gathered up his courage to tell the younger boy as he wrapped his arms around the neck of the younger and cried again. He calms down a little when the younger wrapped his arms tighter around Jaejin’s waist and sings gently to him.

Seunghyun didn’t know what to do when he had heard that they had broken up. A part of him was happy that they broke up, the other part was sad to see his hyung so sad.

-A few days later-

The boys were at a radio show when the news about Jaejin’s break up was ‘accidentally’ released by Hongki. Jaejin was so angry at Hongki that he didn’t speak to him after the radio show. Jaejin just walked up to Seunghyun and talked to the younger, ignoring Hongki whenever he tried to talk to him.

Seunghyun smiled at the number of times his hyung spoke to him in a day, he was practically on cloud nine. Jaejin rarely spoke to Seunghyun other than when he was bored, so Seunghyun was very satisfied with how much they interacted. Just as he thought that he finally got to be alone with Jaejin, Minhwan came up beside them asking if they wanted to drink bubble tea. Seunghyun wanted to push Minhwan away when Jaejin decided that he wanted to drink bubble tea as well. Seunghyun had no choice but to follow the other 2 to buy bubble tea.

“Jaejinnie hyung, are you feeling better?” Minhwan asked when they waited for their bubble tea to be ready. Seunghyun wanted to smack Minhwan on the head for asking him such a question, until he saw Jaejin give a genuine smile for the first time in the week. He smiled in relief when he saw the smile, knowing that Jaejin had finally started to forget about her.

-2 months later-

“Knock knock.”

“Come in!”

“Seunghyunnie are you busy right now?” Jaejin asked shyly, as he entered the room and locking the door behind him.

Seunghyun looked up from his Chinese book and looked at Jaejin. “No, I’m not, why hyung?” Seunghyun watched as Jaejin fiddled with his fingers and came towards him nervously. “What’s up hyung?” He signalled his hyung to sit beside him.

“Seunghyun-ah…”

“Yes hyung?”

“I think I’m in lo…vee….” Seunghyun’s heart sank when he heard what the elder member had just told him.

“That’s good, hyung.” Seunghyun forced a smile on his face and pretended to look at his phone. He was so sad that he didn’t hear what Jaejin said to him after that.

“you..” Jaejin finished his sentence quietly and looked at Seunghyun, finally noticing that the younger wasn’t paying attention to what he just said. “YAH!” He shouted, which caused the young guitarist to jump slightly, looking up at his hyung.

“Sorry hyung, what were you saying?”  Seunghyun faked another smile and looked at his hyung. Jaejin went on nagging about how rude it is not listening to what he had to say. Seunghyun couldn’t help but to find his hyung’s nagging so cute. He grabbed Jaejin by the waist and hugged him tightly.

“Hyung, no matter who you love, I’ll always support you..” Seunghyun said softly, but loud enough so that Jaejin could hear it. He really wanted to tell his hyung that he loves him, but he couldn’t.. His hyung already liked someone else…

Upon hearing that, Jaejin blushed and turned around in Seunghyun’s arms. Giving the younger a peck on the lips and runs out of the room, leaving the younger shocked.

Did Jaejin hyung just kiss me!? Seunghyun thought happily to himself, before snapping back to reality. Wait, didn’t Jaejin hyung just tell me that he was in love with someone else? Maybe I should stay away from Jaejin hyung…

-The following few days-

Jaejin looked at Seunghyun as the younger boy tried his best to avoid him. Maybe he doesn’t like me back.. Jaejin thought sadly to himself. After the day Jaejin confessed to Seunghyun, the latter had been avoiding him like a plague.

Jaejin couldn’t take it anymore. He saw the younger guitarist leaving the practice room and he followed him out. He followed him into the washroom and waited until the younger came out from the cubicle and cornered him.

“Why have you been avoiding me?” Jaejin demanded as Seunghyun. He placed his hand on the wall, so that the younger had no way of escaping. Seunghyun looked at his hyung and sighed.

“Hyung can I at least wash my hands before you corner me?” Seunghyun looked at his hyung with his big eyes. Jaejin gave in and let the younger man out to wash his hands. “Hyung.. You have someone you like.. you shouldn’t be going around kissing someone else…” Seunghyun said softly; but loud enough for Jaejin to hear him, as he washes his hands.

“I told you.. the one I like is you Seunghyun-ah” Seunghyun turned around in shock. Did I hear wrongly? Or am I dreaming?? Seunghyun slapped himself on the face. Ouch it hurts! Wait I’m not dreaming!?

Jaejin watched as the younger fought his mental fight. He decided to pull the younger towards him and kissed him on the lips, telling him that it’s real. Seunghyun didn’t respond at first, but after a while he came back to senses and lifted Jaejin in the air.

“Hyung! You know, I’ve loved you since 2 years ago and my dream finally came true! Hyung!!! I love you!!!!” Seunghyun squealed happily as he hugged Jaejin tightly in his arms. “Seunghyun-ah I can’t breathe like that!” Jaejin whined and smacked the younger lightly on the back, but Seunghyun couldn’t be care less. He was over the moon.

“YAH! WHAT ARE YOU TWO DOING!?”

The couple turned to the door to see a furious Jonghun standing at the doorway. It seems like the both of them have forgotten that they were in the middle of practice. They went back to the practice room and heard a long lecture by Jonghun and Hongki. However, after lecturing the members all congratulated the couple instead of stereotyping them.

-A few days later-

“So I heard that all of the members have broken up with their girlfriends and are now single right?” Boom, the host of the show asked the members.

“Are you single now, Seunghyun-ah?” Hongki asked teasingly, as Seunghyun and Jaejin looked down shyly.

“You know you can’t deny it if you have a girlfriend right? If you deny it, she will be very sad…” Boom said in a know-it-all manner.

Seunghyun hesitated whether he should say it on the show or not, but he gathered up his courage and confessed. “Yea, I have a girlfriend now..” The host and the other members when “ahhhh!” and went on to the next topic. Seunghyun caught Jaejin’s eyes from the side of his eyes and smiled.

Yea, I do have a girlfriend.. or maybe a boyfriend.
