“What do you mean?”
Key asked aghast on the new information

“We have a double agent”

Minho frowned, he was not surprise for he had come to the same conclusion not long ago, but hearing Seunghyun voiced his deduction made all real, but the question now remained who was the mole.

“I agree with you, that’s why they were always a step ahead of us, they knew where we were going the moment we decided it…”

Jonghyun was upset, that complicated things a lot more

“That’s why, when we went to that lady…”

Key asked Minho

“Yes, we did not use any electronic devices that could be easily hacked into, that way we only knew, and helped us get a description of the boy”

“But, Seunghyun and Jiyong were sent to Paris, surely they knew about that”

“They left under the assumption of kidnaps, while we were busy figuring out the port massacre, and apparently two agents are not enough threat to them”

They all stood pensive, Minho trusted his immediate circle, meaning Jonghyun and Key, they were his friends before they entered the academy, but finding out this…

“I don’t get it…”

Jiyong spoke up, everybody turned their attention to him, he usually did not participate on the serious conversations he was more the action man, but when he spoke (rarely) he usually contributed thought provoking comments

“This seems to hurried, the escape”

“They were not counting with him getting caught”

Jiyong nodded, but still…

“All this years, El Salvaje has done a very clean, efficient job, leaving no trace… but this escape rouse is sloppy, we are all agents, we work with guns and murder scenes all the time, we are sure to find out something did not add up…”

Minho as well as the rest knew Jiyong was getting into something they did not see

“It’s like he was counting for us to find out it was not what it seemed… raise suspicions among us, distract us from him, so all of our energy in focused on the mole or moles inside, because by now I’m sure there are more than one in this organization, thus raising distrust and slowing us more”

Key gasped while Jonghyun cursed under his breath

“He wanted us to find out, which means…”

“That, if what we know gets out, the investigation in going to be revoked, all our years of pursuing evidence out to the trash, because they can’t be trustworthy…”

Seunghyun concluded for Minho, Jonghyun punched the wall in exasperation, they’ve been invested on this for years, this could not be happening now

“That bastard! Not only will the investigation go to waste, but the credibility of TIHPA is gone”

They stood quiet, what to do? Report their findings to their captain? Stay quiet and be careful as to who they let know what’s going on and what steps to take? What about the moles?

“Nothing happened, it was an ambush and Taemin escaped”

They all nodded in agreement.

Mir sat faithfully by Joon’s bedside

“I’m glad you are conscious, I was so worried”

Joon blinked up to him, only his eyes betrayed emotion, and right now they were unreadable

“I’m getting discharged in a couple of days; my only thing was my leg and some minor bruises, the doctor said I might develop a slight limp, no so noticeable but it will take some getting used to…”

Mir felt stupid, about what he was saying, a slight limp was better to what Joon had… he looked away over the closed window into the night sky, what happened meant Joon might not be able to work for TIHPA, so they would not be partners… he clenched his jaw, he swore to do anything to get El Salvaje, destroy anything related to him.

“It’s late, I should go so you can rest, I’ll visit you in the morning”

Mir took Joon’s hand and gently squeezed, when he tried to pull away he felt the grip slightly tighten, he looked over Joon and he saw his eyes pleading

“Joon? Do… do you want me to stay?”

Joon’s eyes looked earnest and he blinked once

Mir smiled and sat on the chair next to his bed, not letting go of Joon’s hand, tracing soothing circles in the back of his hand, he heard Joon’s small sigh and his heart raced a little, being closed to the an always soothe him, and him being bed bound made no difference.

Minho walked to his hotel room, pondering about the new discoveries, he drilled his mind to recall all he agents involved in the case, but… it was impossible to narrow the list, the whole organization was involved, but this mole or moles, have to make a mistake sooner or later, and it better be sooner… he sighed and shrug his coat off, undoing his tie, he rolled his rolled his shoulders and made his way to the balcony, opening the glass door to stand outside, it was a chilly night, but Minho was fond of cold nights.

“I always admired Paris winter nights; the air always has crispness to it”

Minho’s head snapped to the voice to the balcony right to his

“Taemin…”

FINALLY new update, short I know.... but it's upon this chapter that it's going to start getting iteresting ( i hope so) and the 2min romance will start, (slow build, you dont suddenly fall for the bad guy) sooo enjoy! Any suggestions? something you ight like to see?
