The Disgrace's beginning

Sugar Pearls

Dark marbles disguised as his eyes squared this forceful anger into her back, as she looked at him through the mirrors eyes. She dropped her hands by herside as she felt her breath withdraw from her chest. Tsunami turned around to face him, her hand held the small moonstone necklace tightly as he moved towards her. That look he gave was unforgiving

"Sorry I came to clean up your room, I got a little distracted," Tsunami felt the need to explain herself to Sora; all though  now he stood over her, his big eyes were overpowering her own gaze, causing her to look away

"Get out," he said in a husky icy way. Tsunami nodded at him she opened her hand to place the gorgeous tear shaped necklace down on the dresser, but he grabbed her hand

"If I catch you in my room again, I will hurt you," his eyes still stared menacingly at her, Tsunami looked at her fist squished in his soft palms "You have no respect for other peoples stuff, if your gonna' clean the room then clean the room. Never touch my things," he hissed ripping the necklace from her possesion. He then side stepped her, to lay it back in the container it origianally sat in. Tsunami stood a second longer...not even his terse glares and words could kill the beauty of that face, or those big eyes. She heard a growl like a bear would make, and quickly shuffled her legs towards the door feeling the door slam after she stepped into the hallway. She took in a long breath, looking up towards the sound of heavy treads from feet on the ground. She saw Etude and his wild bunch of friends coming she rose her hand

"Hi Etude," she peeped lovingly, hoping he wouldn't shun her again. Etude's friend raised a brow as the whole group stopped

"Why are you talking?" he barked in Tsunami's face, bewilderment flooded her brown eyes

"Dude, tell her to shut up and leave you alone," said the shortest, and Etude's best friend Macharu. Etude shook his head

"Tsunami, when are you going to learn...to this family...your dead. You we're never born as a royal, your nothing but a useless maid. Did you forget what mom said to you?"

"I bet she was just kidding, she'll change her mind," Tsunami said slightly defending herself as her heart rattled in its place. Etude smiled

"Now you know she never changes her mind. Now, never talk to me again," not a pain was sound in his voice to have said that. He earned a raging crowd of hollers from his friends who all pretended to spit on Tsunami. Tsunami walked past them ignoring their cruel yells

"Who knew that this would happen. Why am I so different from them?" she asked herself pushing open the maid's lockers to exchange these maid clothes.

Tsunami Pov

I tapped my foot anxiously on the wall of my room, i knew it was plain useless to even try to change mothers mind. My clicks made a rhythmn on the harden clay wall, the sun glared at me through the window; that was at my side. My eye's rested on the sight of something knick the glass, the object gave off an orange glint. Just as my curiousity peaked my eyes widened once i noticed someone stop at my window. My heart was overwhelmed by the butterflies asceneding from the pits of my stomach. It was...Sora-san, he had dark liquidy black eyes that rested on his soft, flawless face...he was breathtaking to look at...to see. I was already postioned on my knee's on my bed, gawking  as i stared at him hoping his focused gaze would fall on me, but alas he never once looked into the window directly. He retrieved whatever smacked the window, and it turned out to be an orange small sphere. Sora-san looked at me through the corner of his eye, and a frown reached him. I averted my eyes to something else; that side glance was intense. When I didn't feel his disaproving glance shoving it's needle like anger into my side, i turned back to the window. Resting my arms on the cushion of the window seat, i peered through the glass through the bright silk falling from the sun, at Sora-san; he was playing one of those hunter games. He was threw the ball towards the moving target, Etude otherwise my older brother. Etude got hit in the shoulder unable to block it with his bat, even as fast as he was...none of Sora's throws could ever miss. As Etude and Sora switched places in the game...Sora whipped his head back quickly...that deadly glance. The look in that one tenth of a second sent me an icy feeling that nurtured  hate and arrows of unacceptance. I though also saw a hint of pain hidden behind the lenses. Fortunately the door of my room swung open, breaking me from the spell that Sora casted over me in that one meaningful flick of his eyes. I whirled around to the person who stood sighing at me, Airi. Airi had a gorgeous face, and eye's that sent guys on their desired fantasies, she shook her head at me
"Aren't you suppose to be helping the maids with the meal or something?" she asked me in a calm mocking tone. I rolled my eye's dismounting my bed, and walking in her direction
"How does it feel to be the only one in the Kowabata history, who's not skilled in any fighting feild? First ever to only be good at maid work." she enjoyed to hold it over my head that I am the only daughter of a mayor in our family who has no specialty in combat. I pushed past her and listened to that hallow snicker, sound after me.
Once I entered the kitchen commotion bustled the instance I stepped in. They knew it was only me coming to help with the meal, rather then quieting down like they would for Etude or Airi. I grabbed an apron and headed north-east of the kitchen to find Chef Hachiro...and like always he favored the corner counter next to that old fashioned stove. He was making what i recognized as a spicy soup, one of my family's favorites. I stood at his side taking in all this scrumptious display as he turned his attention on me
"Ah, Tsunami! Your kind of late, dinner will be served soon. So you can get the table ready," he told me. I sighed untying the arms of the apron from around my waist, following his orders. I pushed my way out the double doors, with the silverware cart seeing Keiko already folding the napkins in flower shapes and setting them near silverware and dishes she's already placed on the vast table. I groaned angrily, feeling useless as I turned away to return the cart. After I placed the cart back in it's original spot nearest to the fresh foods shelves, I heard
"Tsunami is such a disgrace," my eyes widend as I subtly looked into the food aisle, seeing a maid and butler picking out fruits from the cold shelves, the guy gave a heavy sigh after he said that.
"Why do you say that Yasukyo?" questioned the maid plopping an apple into her small basket
"Well isn't she a Kowabata? Over the last decade each member has been skilled in combat, she has to work like us commoners. I heard she can't even defend herself in a battle, I think Lady Micho would be wise to choose anyone but her to be the new mayor of this town," bitterness filled every word that came from him. I wasn't watching them anymore but I listened from the breads aisle,
"Yasukyo, you don't even know her and your talking about her. She could very well be a pacifist,"
"Pacifist? In this town, Hana? Now you must be joking, fighting is like your ticket to stardom around here. Saying you work as one of the hero's in the four hunting pods for the mayor....it's like their unforgettable knights,"chuckled Yasukyo, and there was a long pause between the two. I was just about to leave when I heard
"Yasukyo do you ever think that you'll see an actual vampire,"
"Why are you asking that? I thought you were gonna try to defend Tsunami again," he sounded a little irritated by her question
"No, I guess you've made your point about her. But I asked because at school, yesterday, we'd finally gotten to the mythology unit for history, and we started off with vampires,"
"Really? Cause my stupid teacher decided we'll go to the wars and battles unit--fyi it's boring as heck,"
"Well like I was saying about the vampires Yasukyo. There's so many different types! Like there's one that if it touches your shadow or it, bad things will happen to you! And there's another just by one glance it can choose to kill you or make you it--"
"-Whoa Hana this is the first i've ever heard you so stoked about something," said Yasukyo surprised just like I was.
"Well it got me thinking with all these kinds like the shadow one...what would it be like to see one,"
"You'd only see it for a second before it the hunters killed it," answered Yasukyo so confident in the hunters
"Well I think it'd be scary to look at...they sound scary. They drink blood, you dry of energy, feed on your dreams and thoughts. I heard that some like humans. Who could ever love a vampire?" I felt my heart shake at the last part of her words, I have no idea why I felt that jolt of both fear and love. Maybe later I'd figure it out when I wasn't so busy trying to cope with the realization that I'm even a disagrace in the commoners eyes. I watched the two walk ahead of me they both never noticed me walking behind them as they talked more.
Dinner started, but I decided that today was a good day to skip...I couldn't take the unwelcoming stares that would be boring into my frail soul, those stares would only come from my family. I sat in my dark room, my arms hugging my knees to my chest as I remembered moms words
"For now on Tsunami...you will work like a maid, I don't care what you do actually as long as you stay out of your siblings way. Also don't even talk to the guest, Sora, I don't want him to be seen with you, plus your a distraction, and he cannot be distracted when he needs to train. That's all, dismissed," she never looked hurt saying any of it, she just continued looking over a report and her voice had affection when she said siblings even Sora, but for my name Tsunami there was and airless unmoving hatred blasting through her voice. I know she hated me, her own daughter.
