Hoping For Horizons.

Description

Two long time friends who've known each other since they were in Kindergarten. Their names are, Dong Young Bae & Ruk Yu-Ri. When they enter their high school year, Yu-Ri is forced to move to the states and leaves her bestfriend, Young Bae behind. They keep their strong friendship long-distance, but slowly drift apart from one another, lose touch, and Young Bae starts to forget Ruk Yu Ri. As time passes and they are finally grown, Dong Young Bae is soon Korea's MEGA Popstar of all time with his group, Big Bang. Ruk Yu-Ri makes a sudden move back to Korea to have a fresh start there and go back to her roots. She finds out about Young Bae and tries to find a way to revive their one time, everlasting friendship but will fame take over Young Bae? Will Yu-Ri ever tell Young Bae her feelings after all this time? Or will the two ever be the same together again?

Foreword

Ruk Yu-Ri, and I were at our favorite spot in town: MoonStar Plaza.

It was the last day of summer break and we were going into our freshman year of high school and we wanted to spend time together before we both had to go home early.

Yu-Ri tucked both strands of hair behind her ears, something was bothering her.

"Yu-Ri what's wrong?"

"Nothing. Why would you think that?"

"Trust me. I've been your best for a while now. Everytime you're mad / sad / keeping a secret you do that thing with your hair."

"Well... First, you have to promise we'll always be bestfriends, through thick and thin, just pleaaaasee promise you won't forget about me Young Bae."

She had a sad look in her eyes, she was about to cry and just looking at her made me want to cry too.

"How can I forget about you? You are and always will be my best friend, I promise. Now, Yu-Ri tell me what's making you so sad?"

*A tear slowly rolled down her soft, yet flushed, cheek.*

"Young Bae.... I'm moving."

"No worries, I can always visit you.

How many miles is it ; I bet it's walking distance." I tried my best to cheer her up, it wasn't really a big deal to me.

She sobbed some more and dug her face in to her hands,

"I'm moving ... to the.... states." And when she said those words, she cried her heart out.

"What? No, Yu-Ri. Why? We were supposed to stay together no matter what. I need you. You're my best friend."

"My stupid parents think they can spend less money over there, and my Mom wants me to go to a good high school!"

I patted her on the back, I couldn't cry.

I had to be the strong one.

I didn't want Yu-Ri to see me bawl, because that would only make her feel even worse.

Her cell phone began to beep; it was time for her to leave.

"When are you leaving?" I was almost scared to ask her that question because she might just say-

"Tomorrow, morning..." Waterfalls of tears rand down her face, she didn't want to be the one to give me sadness.

"I'm sorry Young Bae; I dont want to leave you, I'm so sorry."

"No, no. It's not your fault Yu-Ri. We'll keep in touch, we'll send letters, call each other. It'll work out just fine. Our friendship will never change unless one of us change. So don't." Those were the word I was hoping never to say.

I walked her all the way home with my arm around her shoulder.

We passed the beach, and watched the horizon one last time together.

Yu-Ri was leaving the next day and I didn't want this day to fly by so fast but time surely flew.

Next thing I know, it was the next day.

And I almost forgot that Yu-Ri, my bestfriend, my long time childhood friend, the one I spent almost my entire life with was halfway across the globe. &

I was missing her.
