Kai rushed him inside. "You must have been freezing out there! What are you doing without a jacket? Are you crazy?"

The man averted Kai's gaze. Kai studied him. He was short, shorter than Kai at least. His dark hair was mangled and damp from the winter rain. His big, dark eyes captured Kai somehow. He shivered in Kai's heavy coat.

But more importantly, who was this guy? And why was he out on his own in the snow like that?

"Hey, man, who are you? I mean, not that I'm not happy I found you, believe me, but you need to get home. Isn't there someone who I can contact?"

He looked up at Kai this time, their eyes meeting. A little shock of warmth spread through Kai on the cold night. Kai was frozen for second. Once he realized he was staring, he shook his head and cleared his throat awkwardly.

"Hello? C'mon, man..."

Again, he looked up at Kai. He looked confused, hurt, even. Obviously he wasn't about to talk to Kai anytime soon.

"Fine, you can stay here. Would you like that?" The man nodded.

Kai's heart skipped a beat again. Stop, Kai. You don't even know this fool... And you don't need another heartbreak... He just wants to stay the night... In your house... Under the same roof...."

His face got warm. He cleared his throat yet again, it had become some sort of habit. "Right, uh, let me go clear up a room for you..."

He rushed out of the room and bursted into the guest room. His mind raced as he retrieved the new set of sheets that he had never used. Luhan had gotten them for him, back when he still loved Kai... Get a hold of yourself, Jongin.

He walked back into the living room. The man was walking around the room now, looking at the TV, the computer, his eyes even bigger than usual.

"Hey, got your room ready. You need anything else?"

He shook his head, and his hair bounced at his movements. Kai couldn't help but think it was cute. He started walking past Kai, into the bedroom.

"What's you name, by the way? Since I, you know, saved your life, I though it would be nice to know your name. Here, let me go first. I'm Jongin, you can call me Kai. Everyone else does. And you?"

He turned to face Kai, his face expressionless. "Kyungsoo." He whipped around and walked into the room, closing the door.

"Kyungsoo, huh?" Kai grinned. "Welcome to my world."

Kai had never been the kind to let people in. Not since his ex, Luhan had broken his heart, two years ago. But who is this new person coming into his life? Can he learn to enjoy it? Or will it tear his entire world apart?
