Time Traveler's Wedding
One-shot story

Time.. its that thing that no matter how much money you have, you couldn't buy nor take it back. Yes, Life is cruel. Life is painful. But the only way for you to learn how it goes, is to experience it yourself.

"I'm sorry for your loss." A friend comforted as he sat beside him. The guy beside kept quiet, obviously spaced out. He couldn't even make himself look inside the coffin... the coffin where the love of his life is lying, dead and breathless. The girl that would've been the one.. The one that he should have been spending the rest of his life with.

He closed his swollen eyes, sighing and secretly wishing again that it would all be just a dream. That he'll wake up again next to her as he smile when he saw her peacefully sleeping. Regret. That's all he had done. He regretted every moment he was not with her. Every minute he wasn't by her side. If only he could turn back time.

"Sungmin.." He opened his eyes and saw the perfect face of her almost-wife, So Yina. the surprise on his eyes were visible. Yina placed her hand on his cheeks as she beautifully smile at him.

"What's wrong?" She asked. Before Sungmin could say something, Yina slowly neared her face to him until their lips finally met. when their lips parted, "Don't worry. Whatever happens, I will always be by your side." She said as she wrapped her hands around his waist. Sungmin did the same as he rested his head on her shoulders.

The sorrouding was white. Everything is white.

"Am i dreaming?" Sungmin asked her, loosening alittle from her sweet embrace as he looked at her hopefully and locking their gazes at each other.

"No you're not." Sungmin was about to sigh in relief not until he heard her next few words, "You time travelled."

"Don't joke." Sungmin tried to laugh awkwardly but Yina's face turned serious. "But how?" He found himself asking, a flick of pain on his chest as he realize that none of what is happening might be true.

Yina smiled at him, as she placed her hand on his cheeks again. She can feel the disappointment in his heart, and the doubt visible drawn all over his face.

"Everything you see is true." She continued, "Even me."

"But how? You said i time travelled.."

"It seems like God didn't just want us to separate like that." She chuckled softly. "Look around you."

Sungmin turned and looked around the place. He almost teared up when he realize where he was. He found himself wearing the white tuxedo he could have wore, and Yina was also wearing the beautiful white gown she could've. It was as if it was like that exact same day.

They were at the entrance of church. the surrounding was almost like heaven and they were the only people around. Yina smiled as she take hold of the bouquet of her favorite white roses. Sungmin held her soft, flawless hands as they started to walk down the aisle together.

If all of these are just a dream, please don't let me wake up anymore. Sungmin thought, as he tried to hold back the tears that was forming at the end of his eyes.

They walked slowly. The sounds of the angels singing above made it seem more like a fairy tale. Yina rested her head on his arms as they walk. She also tried to hold back her tears.

When they reached the altar, a voice coming from nowhere, spoke.

"We all have gathered here today to witness the exchange of vows of Lee Sungmin and So Yina in proof of their undying and everlasting love." The voice continued, "Lee Sungmin, do you, take So Yina to be your wife, your partner in life and one true love? And Cherish her friendship and love today, tomorrow and forever? In sickness and in health, in richer and in poorer, through good times and bad times, 'till death do you part?"

Sungmin, without hesitations, answered, "I do. Today, tomorrow, and forever." He lifted her hand and slipped the gold ring, carved with their names in it. Those rings that they could have wore that day.

Yina smiled as she tightened her hold of his hand, afraid that anytime soon, she will slowly disappear from his sight.

"So Yina, do you, take Lee Sungmin to be your husband, your partner in life and one true love? And cherish his friendship and love today, tomorrow and forever? In sickness and in health, in richer and in poorer, through good times and bad times, 'till death do you part?"

A tear fell on her cheeks as she finally answer those two words she always wanted to , "I do." Sungmin wiped the tears on her cheeks. He smiled as she lifted up his hand and slipped the gold ring unto his ring finger.

"i now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride."

Sungmin and Yina faced each other, the happiness on the couple's eyes were visible. Sungmin cupped her cheeks, and slowly neared his lips until they finally met. the longer the kiss they make, the faster the soul of Yina's disappear until she was completely gone. Sungmin finally let out the tears he tried to hold from the beginning.

"I will always be beside you.." The wind whispered on his ears, "I love you, Sungmin." And the sorrouding went to a complete blackout.

"Sungmin.." The friend shook him up. He found himself on the same room he was for almost two days now. The people around looked at him, confused. "You were calling Yina's name loudly on your sleep." His friends informed. That's why they were looking at him.

Sungmin stood up, finally having the courage to look at the coffin his love of his life is lying. Though he knew it will hurt him again, he will endure it.

He walked towards the coffin and stood there for awhile, staring at the lifeless body of his lover. And the next thing he knew, a smile slowly formed on his lips when he saw the ring on her hand. He lifted up his hand and saw the ring on his too.

I love you, Yina. Today, Tomorrow, and Forever.
