I put the letter down and stared at the wall in front of me. Emily Chan, Emily Chan from America, Emily Chan from my old school in America just sent me a letter. I was bombarded with clashing memories of how depressed she had always seemed to be. I never knew what to say to help her to feel better because she never spoke to anyone. If there was anything I could do that could touch her heart, it would be to contact her. I rummaged through the drawer in front of me and found a pen and a tablet to write back to her. My mind went blank as to what to write, but I reminded myself that any words would be a source of encouragement for her.
