Japan, Sengoku Period. As a result of a long process of selective breeding, many people are enchanted with inhuman abilities with the cost of some of them being physically disfigured and abnormally mutated. These mutated humans were called ‘Mononokes’; they were used as lethal weapons throughout the war, causing countless massacres and massive destruction across the land. Seeing them as nothing more than monsters and a threat to humanity, Mononokes were either killed or banished to the forbidden lands.
Bitter Crimson Tears revolves around the interactions, views, emotions, and discrimination between humans and Mononokes, a new mutant species that derived from humans, but are distinguishable for their grotesque looks and super abilities

I was inspired by many creative awesome authors on this site and the anime show ‘Inuyasha’. I was curious of Inuyasha’s past, being rejected by both species and all. But I was disappointed they didn’t go more in depth with it so I wanted to make ‘my own version’ of it, and that’s how “BCT” was originally created.
