Rainy Night

Description

You looked out the window as the rain started to sound against the concrete floors, you felt so cold at that moment. He left, you thought with the glass shards laying around you. The rose petals were also scattered around you, you didn't mean to yell at him and you absouletly didn't mean for him to walk away the way he did.

You were just frustrated, that evening was supposed to be perfect, why did you go ahead and ruin it with your stupid jealously. It wasn't worth anything and you would do anything to take it all back. To have him back into your arms, to have the comfort of him against you.

Looking at the roses on the floor you couldn't help but started to tear up, he personally handpicked those out. You noticed those bandages on his fingers, how each of them represented how much work he put in to find the perfect batch of roses -- and now it all went to waste. The beautiful crimson petals were now stomped over and laid flat and motionless on the floor.

....

Hours Earlier.

You woke up feeling the space around, opening your eyes wide you noticed it was empty. About to get up and go search for Kris you noticed there was a small note card on his pillow. There was a small red heart on the front and opened it to see a cute drawing of a demented bear, even though it wasn't the best -- you still loved his effort for trying.

"There's a surprise for you on the table (: " The note read in his childish handwriting.

You smiled at the cute note and got up to enter the kitchen, there was another card placed on the table next to the stack of pancakes. Opening the card, there was another picture but of a bear holding up a stack of pancakes an an apron around it.

"Enjoy your breakfast sweetheart, I'll be back later. Happy Anniversary, I love you."

Feeling a rush of warmth you settled down into your seat, it was so sweet that Kris decided to make you breakfast. He never cooked and  when he did most of it didn't turn out correctly so you were in charge of that most of the time. You picked up your knife to cut the pancakes noticing that they were all in a heart shape, you could just imagine him trying to get them perfectly and throwing away the imperfect ones with a hard concentration and his tongue sticking out the side of his mouth. You laughed out loud at the thought and popped a piece in your mouth, surprising they were delicious. They were also your favorite kind of pancakes, in minutes you finished them off and went to wash the dishes.

You then started to contemplate what you were going to do for your anniversary, what meal to cook and what kind of dessert you were going to make. After you finally got what you were going to do you looked inside the fridge to find it empty, you quickly went into your room and got ready.

Within a few minutes you wrapped your hair in a bun and walked out the door, spring was in season and it was absolutely beautiful. The sun was shining and the flowers were in full bloom, dancing in the wind with it's colors.

You stared to walk towards the store greeting your many elderly neighbors on the way, turning the corner about to enter the store you saw Kris was in a flower shop -- cute you thought. You wondered what kind of flowers he was looking at, about to go in and surprise him another head popped up and walked out a dozen full of daises in their hands. Your face fell when you saw them, they weren't your favorite kind flowers -- they were his ex-girlfriend's favorite kind of flowers. Looking up at the girl holding the flowers your heart stopped for a second, it was his ex-girlfriend standing in front of him holding out the flowers. He smiled and nodded at them, as he took a hold of them and walked towards the cashier.

Wait, he wasn't going to purchase them was he? Especially not for his ex-girlfriend, on your anniversary? You tried to not believe it but your eyes proved you right when he handed them over to her and told her something that you couldn't make out. She then threw her head back and let out a heartily laugh, they looked like the happiest couple in the world right there.

Usually other people just thought they were just hanging out, but in the past couple of months his ex-girlfriend was trying to do anything to break Kris' and yours relationship apart. So you were skeptical whenever you saw those two together, she even tried to disguise herself as you one time and even tried to do a fake break-up with Kris.

You heart gave out a small squeeze as you tried to force yourself to walk away from the scene. You paced towards anywhere else than in front of the flower shop, trying to force the thought of them being together out of your head. Tiny tears were starting to form but you wiped them away quickly trying to not have a break-down in the middle of street.

As you were walking mindlessly you then realized you were in front of your door, opening it you hoped Kris wasn't inside with his ex-girlfriend. To your relief there was no one and so you decided to go for a nice bubble bath hoping it'll relax you.

It just about did the opposite, the thought of them being together kept racking through your brain. You knew that she was one of his hardest girlfriends to get over, and you knew that it was possible for him to fall right back in love with her. Maybe he still loved her, and you were just someone to have fun with in the time being. He was probably buying her daises to get her back, laughing at the thought that you actually believe him when he said I love you for the first time. They were probably holding hands right now, strolling in the park and having a wonderful time -- and here you would have been if you didn't find him at the flower shop, you would have been so clueless until the very moment when the words 'Lets break up' slipped out of his lips.

Thinking about them together you started to sob vigorously the tears pouring out and you couldn't stopped yourself, your eyes were becoming a puffy red and then you thought of a plan. You were going to break up with him first before he could even make a fool out of you.

Pulling yourself together you dried off and plopped yourself in front of the TV, minutes later the door opened and Kris head popped in. His face held a warm smile, huh trying to fool me, you thought to yourself.

"Hey sweetie!" He said holding something behind his back, he walked over and gave you a kissed on the lips.

You quickly wiped his kiss off your lips and glared up at him. "So you're back now?"

"Yeah, I had some errands -- but now they're all done." He said plopping himself next to you and wrapping an arm around you. "Here this is what I got you." He grinned widely as he held out a bunch of red roses, so he decided to get your favorite flowers after hooking up with his ex. Wow he was so smooth covering up this whole entire thing.

You took the roses into your hands and automatically threw them on the ground, the impact of hitting the floor made most of the petals fall off and scatter all over the place.

"Oh, silly you -- so clumsy just dropping them like that." Kris said grinning and getting down to pick the bundle of roses back up.

"I'm sorry I don't need them, I don't need you." You said in a flat tone staring at his shocked expression.

"What?" Kris asked, his eyebrows knitting into a confused expression.

"I'm not another girl you can just play around with -- I saw you with her. I know you guys are dating again, but don't you think you should have the decently to actually break up with me before cheating? And you even KNOW that I hate cheating. Why would you do that to me Kris?" You started to yell, and tears were starting to sputter out your eyes. You tired to stop yourself from crying but your emotions wouldn't let you and everything was just overflowing.

"No-." Kris started to say stepping towards you.

"Get out." You said sending daggers at him, "Go to your little girlfriend! I don't ever want to see you again!" You yelled as you started to push him towards the door.

"Stop it. It was -"

"No. Get out. I don't need you. I hate you. GET OUT!" You yelled cutting him off once again, flinging the door opened you gave him a harsh push.

"Fine. I will." He said his expression turning cold and hard to read. He then turned his back away and stalked off.

You slammed the door behind you and fell to the floor as the tears started to burst out even more, now he has walked away. You didn't think he was going to actually going to walk away, he never did. Even with your little fits here and there he always wrapped his arms around you and comforted you.

Dragging yourself backup onto the couch you stared out the window, you didn't know how long you were there until but the sky turned to night and it started to pour. You couldn't stop thinking where Kris could have been, why did you even do that.

You were so stupid, why would you break away from the thing that made you happiest in the world. The thing that made you laugh and smile and lifted all your hardships away, the person that could comfort you. The one person that you actually realized you truly love.

You had to get him back, no matter what. Grabbing your bag you started to walk out, even though you didn't know where he was. You didn't care, you had to find him and apologize. The rain was pounding now hard now, soaking your clothes and sending chills down your back and into your bones. You pushed away the thought of freezing to death and started to pace towards his friend's house.

You started to ring the door bell repeatedly until the door flew open with a messy haired Suho standing at the door.

"What happened?" He asked you a confused look overtaking him.

"Is Kris here?"

"No he's not, why what happened?" He asked in concern.

"Okay sorry for coming here unannounced." You said as you started to pace away from the door.

"Here! Take this umbrella!" Suho yelled but you were already too far off to go and grab the umbrella, plus you didn't want to waste anytime. You started to go through the list of people that he might be currently staying at.

Walking to every one of them you couldn't find him, where was he? Did he suddenly couldn't handle it anymore and ran off to another country?! Defeated you walked back to your house, the tears were starting to stream again as you thought that you might not ever get to see him again.

Opening the door you sat Kris sitting on the couch with a concerned look on his face, standing up right away he rushed over to you. "Oh my god! Where were you?! Why are you soaking wet." He asked you, as he paced to go get a towel to wrap around you.

"I'm so sorry Kris. I'm so stupid. I shouldn't have said what I said. Please, please forgive me!" You cried.

"Get yourself into a new pair of warm clothes first, Jesus you're freezing!"

"Please say you forgive me, I can't bare to live without you. Please." You cried, your eyes b with tears and blood-shot red. What if he didn't forgive you, what if he just decided to come back and pack up his bags and just leave -- having these thoughts it made you cry even harder.

"Please stop crying, it's okay sweetie. I'm here." Kris said wiping the tears off your face and embracing you into a hug, the warmth of his body instantly hit yours and you felt safe again. "I forgive you, jesus -- don't ever go running off in the rain again. Are you trying to kill yourself?!?"

"I'm so sorry. I'm so stupid.." You trailed on, wrapping your arms tightly around him and never wanting to let go.

"I shouldn't have walked off like that either, I was just going to give you time to think when I went to pick up some dinner for us. I didn't know you were going to run around in the rain causing me to almost have a heart attack when Suho called me telling me you were arrived at his door soaking wet and running off again." Kris said, pulling you away and looking at you. His warm eyes were gentle and filled with concern. "Please don't ever do that again. "

Nodding, you cracked a small smile back up at him. Cupping your face Kris leaned in to give you the most gentlest kiss ever, as he pulled back you reached up on your tiptoes to reconnect the kiss. As you both pulled away you each had a smile on your face.

"And I was with Asa today because she finally got the job she's been hoping for, for the past year. So I thought to congratulate her plus she was helping me with picking out a present. I wanted to surprise you but then this mess happened and now it's all ruined." He said, starting to explain the incident you saw earlier.

"Oh." You responded back, you felt like an idiot just jumping to conclusions like that. You knew that Kris would never do that to you, why would he ever when he was the most wonderful human being on earth.

"Now I know it's kind of late but..." Kris said as he started to kneel down on one knee. "Will you marry me?"

Your mouth fell opened, you weren't expecting that kind of present at all. Looking at the diamond ring in his hand your heart started to swell up and fluttered, you could have had the most wonderful evening in the world but you decided to mess that up with your stupid imagination of jealously. You probably should stop watching all of those dramas and believing stupid things like this would happen.

"Yes." You breathed, slipping the finger onto your hand Kris got back up and kissed you. "I love you."

"I love you too." Kris said back gleaming a beautiful grin.

"And you are the best thing that has ever happened to me."
