Foreword
His name was JongIn. Eighteen years he had walked the earth. Skin porcelain; hair night; and eyes, the masterpiece of his form, were piercing charcoal. Puberty gone right bid him that masterpiece, and he was praised every moment of his life for it. Voice melodic; shining smile contagious; and body, the epitome of jealousy. Contrary to his outer appearance, which many would mistake as rich and fake, he was possibly the sweetest, most shy person that walked the earth. Many mistook him for being mute, as the only time his lips opened were to take a breath of air.
There was a reason behind this, however.
He had no reason to speak.
Each word that left his mouth was forgotten a day later. Each memory that entered his mind left it soon after.
JongIn was born with a part of his brain missing. Neither his parents nor the doctors knew it was even possible, but the newborn boy was the proof that it truly was. His memory was the one thing affected. All other aspects of his form were perfect. Growing up he came to realize that he was not like the other children around him. Those kids would recognize their parents when they were to get picked up from daycare. JongIn would only see strangers and run into the closest hiding spot. And if that happened to be an enclosed area with a lock, they’d need to get more than a locksmith to get him out. Growing into his childhood, JongIn learned to keep a book to fill with things that were mandatory to remember.

So on and so forth. He kept it on the desk next to his bed with a sticky note attached to the front labeled ‘Your name is Kim JongIn, you have severe amnesia, please open me!’.
Going into high school, JongIn quickly learned that home schooling would be a better idea. His family wasn’t extremely wealthy, but they had enough to buy extra things that they wanted. They could afford a private tutor. Seeing as the boy would need extra attention because of his condition, they also hired a private butler to cater to his every need while both parents were at work.
What was that butler’s name?
Why, it was Do Kyungsoo.
