Looking at the dark skies, Summer take another sip of her beer. It was already late at night. She took a glance on her watch. 1:30 AM.

Drinking doesn’t help at all. She’s still bearing the same pain she had two months ago when she almost had her fairy tale. She was ready to give up everything for him, be the best she can for him. But what did he do? He left her just like that.

She doesn’t know if it’s her fault or his.

Looking back to their past, she reminisced everything they had but what mattered the most was when she first saw him.

“Summerrr~” Her bestfriend Hyoyeon said, giving at her a sheepish smile. “That guy got your tongue?”

Her eyes were still fixed on him, watching every move he takes, and every flaw he makes. Thoughts were entering in her mind of how cute he was.

“Hey! I’m talking to you.” Hyoyeon said, spanking her shoulders.

“Ouch! That hurts!” She said, patting her shoulder.

“You really like that guy, don’t you?” She asked, sending off a smirk. She poked Summer’s shoulders and said, “Yiee! The last time you looked at someone like that was when you – “

“Don’t you even bother to continue, he’s not worth to talk about.” She cuts her off, casting a cold stare at her best friend. She means it. She doesn’t want to talk about him anymore. “And besides, I don’t like that guy,” she continued.

“Alright. Alright.” Hyoyeon muttered. “Really? You don’t like him? I heard his a year older than us and his name is Changmin plus he doesn’t have a girlfriend. And since, you don’t like him, maybe, just maybe, I should start flirting him and make him as my man.”

“Do you want me to get the crap out of you?”  She asked, her cold eyes meeting hers.

“Confirmed! You like him. I don’t know – definitely.”  She chuckled at the thought that her best friend kept denying how much she likes him but it’s too bad. Hyoyeon knows her well.

“Cut it off. Alright. I like him.”

Snapping back to reality, she sipped the beer and when it’s already empty, she thrown it on the somewhere else and opened the other one.

It feels like the world’s giving her a big prank and it’s not funny.

He’s everything to her. When she feels like she wants to give up, aside from her family, she thinks about him. He’s her inspiration.

She had heartbreaks before meeting him and she thought he’s the one whole feel the emptiness inside her but he wasn’t. He’s not. Instead, he took a piece her.

“I’m stupid! How can I be so stupid?! Summer! He doesn’t love you! So stop thinking about it!” She shouted, her voice echoed and tears were swimming down from her eyes. She threw the bottle of beer on the ground.

It’s hopeless. Thinking about him won’t change a thing.

Summer wiped her tears and stood up from where she was seated. She started her car and drove her way home.

She silently opened the door, not wanting to wake up her mom. She’s tired of those ‘what time is it’ or ‘you! young lady’.

She found her mom, seated on the couch, she rolled her eyes because she knows, it’s another night of her lessons and she doesn’t like it.

“Summer, what time is it?” Her mom asked.

“Uhm... 2:00 AM. Look mom, I have to sleep.” She said her wearing a stern look on her face.

“2:00 AM! You should’ve gone home early, don’t you understand! You’re a lady! You should know how to discipline yourself!” She said but Summer didn’t mind about what she was saying.

“Mom, I’m tired, I want to go to sleep.” She said with her low voice. She placed her bag in the couch and walked out.

“Summer!” Her mom shouted.

“What?” Summer tried to keep her voice low then she looked back at her mom. Tears were forming in her mother’s eyes. She took a sigh and went back to her, to comfort her.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to be rude.” She apologized.

“What’s happening to you?” Her mom started to cry, her heart sunk deep upon seeing her daughter everyday ruining her life.

“You know what happened mom.” Summer replied, her voice cracked, “Mom, why did he leave me? Did I do something wrong? I gave more than enough. I gave everything that I could. I gave up everything. Why?” She asked her mom as her head fell of off her shoulders, finally she broke into tears.

“I know honey and it’s not your loss it’s his.” Her mom said with her soothing voice, pinning her hair behind her ears.

“Then why does it hurt so much if it’s his loss? Mom, I want to forget but I can’t. I just can’t. Mom, I want to forget.” She uttered softly.

“You will honey. You will.” Mrs. Park held her daughter’s chin and kissed her forehead. “Go to sleep.”

Summer beamed at her faintly, not wanting her mom to see how much it hurts and how much she’s breaking.
