Prologue

His day at work was horrible.

   Chanyeol had requested a whole week of break from his boss to go for his honeymoon trip with his fiancée, a.k.a. soon-to-be wife after their wedding. His boss approved the break, but not without a condition. His boss had doubled up Chanyeol’s work at the office this week so that Chanyeol would not get behind on his work after he came back from his week-long break.

   But Chanyeol wasn’t complaining. Why would he when he was about to marry the girl of his dreams in just a week? And besides, he knew that all his efforts now would get paid back later on during the honeymoon trip. Oh, just thinking about it was making him shiver at all the right places.

   After rinsing his body for the last time, making sure that all the soap had been fully washed off, he closed the shower pipe and grabbed the towel from the rack hanging right next to the sink to dry himself off. He then stepped out of his bathroom with the towel wrapped around his waist and glanced at the clock.

   It was ten minutes to eight, which meant that Sulli would arrive here in about twenty minutes. He looked around and noticed that the house was far too quiet, so that must mean that his roommate who was also his best friend, Kris, wasn’t back from work yet.

   After he put on a T-shirt and a knee-length short, he had about another ten minutes to spare before Sulli would arrive so he decided to watch the television while waiting for her. Around fifteen minutes into watching the television, he heard the front door opened. And that brought a smile to his face, thinking that it must’ve been his fiancée, since she knew the code for his apartment.

   “You’re five minutes late today,” he stated without even turning his head from the television.

   “No, I am an hour late because my stupid boss kept on flirting with me,” came a reply in a deep, husky and manly voice. It definitely wasn’t the answer and the person Chanyeol had been waiting for.

   He turned his head towards the door and saw an exhausted Kris. “Oh, it’s just you,” he said. “I thought it was Sulli.”

   Kris tsk-ed at his statement. What a good friend he had. “It was nice to see you too, buddy,” Kris said in the most exaggerating tone.

   “Yeah, yeah, whatever,” Chanyeol shook him off. He looked at the clock once more. Sulli was late. But Sulli was a person who prioritized punctuality so why was she late? Just as he contemplated the thoughts in his mind, wondering if something had gone wrong, his handphone rang.

   Sulli’s name appeared on the screen so he quickly answered his phone. After greeting the call with a “Baby, why are you late?” the reply that came wasn’t something he wanted to hear but, at least he got the answer to his previous question.
