Lasting Feelings for You

Description

Once, an angel had fallen into the wrong world, one too dark for her existence. Hands stained by crimes and heart drown in coldness, her wings could no longer be spread. She had lost hope in escaping.

Perhaps, she shouldn't?

I'll free your wings from the chains that tackle you to this damned world so that you can soar towards the light you had always longed.

— P. C.

In this sinful world, trust may be your downfall. However, you've managed to cause a breach in the wall I had built to protect myself. I'm not certain where these lingering feelings I have towards you will lead me to, though as of now, I know I trust you.

J. M.

Love is such a mistifying concept. It strikes upon you. It confuses you. It smittens you. It defies you. It deceives you. And then, when you've decided to forget it, it finds you... once again.

Foreword

[Chan Yeol POV]

"Now what?" I wondered out loud as I strolled along a quiet pathway.

Done with the photoshoot for the cover of a worldwide fashion magazine, I had surprisingly found myself wandering down a nearly deserted street. I buried my head deeper in my jacket hood, partly hiding my face in order to avoid being recognized by the rare passers-by and create an unnecessary tantrum. An autumnal breeze tenderly swept away the faded leaves loitering on the sidewalk, entangling them in a wild dance. I sighed, slightly lifting up my face towards a gloomy sky. Min Ah should be in London now if everything had undergone according to my plan. I shuddered, fearing the meaning behind the last words. Lips drawn in in a thin line, I clenched my hands hidden in the pockets of my cozy jacket. It was too late to turn back now. It was too late to regret. Snapping me back to reality, a car braked beside me in a sharp disturbance.

"Mister, do you mind a ride?"

Rolling my eyes in utter annoyance, I cooly unconcernedly cocked my head towards the voice, slightly whirling my body around in the process. The front window had been lowered. I frowned at the sight of a stoic man wearing black from the suit to the sunglasses staring at me with a unwavering gaze. What should I do? The wisiest option would be to refuse. Yes, this man looked rather suspicious. As I was about to refuse this "appealing" offer, the smoked window of the back seat lowered as well, revealing a quite familiar face. Caramel locks fell over her shoulders, framing a face with heavenly features. Her eyes locked gaze with mine.

"Why not?" I decided, a smirk tugging at my lips.

I opened the rear door of the expensive car and slammed it behind me as I sat next to my hostess. The vehicle resumed its ride without wasting a second.

"I remember seeing you in the house of that rich guy. What was his name again? Ah yes, Oh Se Hun, right?" I faked obliviousness before flashing her a smile. "Well, well, well, you have not wasted time. You found me." I nonchalantly leant on the back of the comfortable seat.

"I'm Alicia and I'm only here as a messenger," she stated matter-of-factly, turning towards me.

"What have I done to deserve the pleasure of having oh mighty Se Hun's concern?"

"He doesn't know what you're up to, but he warns you that if you dare to hurt Serena in any way, he won't forgive you." Her light-colored pupils became icy cold as she spoke.

"Really? You may as well tell him this: 'Don't worry. I'll most probably hand her back when I'll judge the time to be right." I closed my eyes, letting out a sigh.

"Just wait a little longer," I weakly whispered to only be heard by myself.

Looking outside, I noticed the Mercedes had come to a halt in front of my luxury hotel. I turned to Alicia, about to bid a polite goodbye when an idea popped up in my mind. I so want to once in my life. I slided closer to her until our legs touched and s an hand around her neck. She twitched at the sudden contact, throwing unfriendly glares at me in bewilderment. I nuzzled my face in her vulnerable neck, letting my lips longingly graze upon the milky skin.

"Say, do you want to become my manager? I'd like to have one as beautiful as you," I lewdly whispered in her ear with my sweetest voice.

"If I had not promised Se Hun to not hurt anyone, I don't know what I would have already done to you," she snarled between gritted teeth as she coldly pushed me away.

Instead of keeping up the act, I let out a snicker before opening the door. I casually stepped out, welcomed by the sight of a classy hotel under a shady sky.

"I know who you are. I will never forgive you for what you have dared to do to Serena. The next time we meet, I won't be so gentle with you," I warned her, flashing her a haughty smirk.

"Don't worry. You shouldn't underestimate me," she said, scoffing a laugh despite her will to remain polite.

A shriek sound arose from the tires, disturbing the canvas of reddish leaves as the expensive car drove away. I put on my signature self-proclaimed irresistible smile as I walked into the towering building.

This was merely the beginning.
