Cheese Cake

"Unnie, I'm going out first!" Younha hollered.

She rushed out of the apartment she shared with her elder sister, Yoona.

"Yah, Younha, get a slice of cheese cake from the cafe later!" Yoona shouted in reply.

Waving her arm a little to show acknowledgement, Younha continued to run along.

*Damn, I'm late already!* She huffed.

Soon, she arrived at the cafe, panting.

"Good morning...oh, Younha." The owner said, surprised.

"W-where is Se-Sehun?" She panted.

"Hi, Younha-ah. Hi, ahjumma." Sehun walked into the cafe and passed her leisurely.

Younha's jaws dropped.

All the running she had done was for nothing.

Feeling slightly irritated, she caught up with Sehun and smacked his right arm, "YAH!!!"

"Ouch!" Sehun groaned.

He turned to look at the angry girl and suddenly gasped, "Were you running here to meet me? Your face is seriously flushed."

Younha grew redder in embarrassment.

Sehun started laughing, "Haha, you shouldn't have. I knew that you were coming late so I left my house 15 minutes later. Hahahaha."

"YAH!!! OH SEHUN!!!" Younha started to hit Sehun hardly.

"Y-yah! Stop, STOP!!! I'M SORRY!!" Sehun started screaming too.

Luckily there was no customer in the cafe or they would have been scared off immediately.

After a few minutes of squabbling, Younha grew tired and walked towards their usual table to sit down.

Sitting down in front of the still angry girl, Sehun sighed and started a heavy dose of aegyo.

*Must endure...* Younha tried to look away.

Her perseverance lasted for mere seconds before she started laughing at him.

"Y-yah, just go and get your cheesecake." Sehun barked. It was now him that is embarrassed.

Still giggling, Younha walked over to the counter to order, "I want a slice of cheesecake."

The lady took out a slice of cheesecake from the chiller and placed on a plate. "Here you go, Younha. You are so lucky to get the last piece." She smiled.

"Thank---oof." She knocked into a boy and the slice of cheesecake fell onto the ground to the horror of Younha.

"Yah, you bastard! That's my cheesecake!" Younha screamed.

"Not my fault that YOU bumped into me. I didn't make it drop." The male rolled his eyes and tried to walk away.

"Yah, that's the LAST PIECE!"

"SO?"

"Compensate me!"

"Never."

Sehun immediately ran over after noticing the commotion.

"Younha-ah what's wrong?"

"THIS GUY MADE ME DROPPED MY CHEESECAKE!" Younha screamed.

Sehun winced at the loudness of her scream.

He looked over to the male and gasped, "Daehyun hyung!"

"Sehun?"

Soon, to the dismay of Younha, Daehyun sat with them at their table.

"Fine, I'm sorry. What can I do to make you forgive me?" Daehyun asked after much persuasion from Sehun.

Younha just looked away, still pissed off.

Suddenly, a thought came to her mind, "Fine, make me another cheesecake."

"How difficult is that?" Daehyun smiled.

They were in the kitchen as Daehyun professionally collected all ingredients and began his work.

After a long hour, the cheesecake was done and Daehyun carefully cut a slice for Younha to taste.

Cautiously, she took a bite and to her surprise, it tasted delicious.

"It's nice."

She smiled and hugged Daehyun, "Anyone who can make a cheesecake this nice is my friend."

They got each other's contact number and soon, they were talking frequently.

When Sehun tried to meet Younha like old times, Daehyun will always be there.

When Sehun tried to talk to Younha, they will always talk about Daehyun.

Eventually, Sehun got fed up.

When Younha tried to meet up with Daehyun on a friendly date, Sehun will be there being a third-wheel.

When Younha talked to him about Daehyun, he will change the topic immediately.

Once, Sehun finally managed to get Younha out on a friendly date without Daehyun there.

It started out fine; they were having fun and all.

However, when they were strolling by the Han River, Younha sighed and started to talk about how Daehyun will want to come with them and have fun too.

As Sehun listened, he got more pissed, “YAH!”

Younha was stunned.

“Daehyun, Daehyun. All you talk about is Daehyun. What about me? I’M YOUR BEST FRIEND!” He screamed.

“I…”

“What happened to us? Do you like Daehyun hyung so much?” He whimpered.

Younha froze. She had never thought about how she felt for Daehyun.

Thinking about it right now, every time she saw Daehyun or even the slightest mention of him, there would be a smile on her face, her heart would race, her actions would be shy and dainty, and all the things she swore to never do, she did in front of him. Only him…

*I love him.* She thought, shocked.

“I…I think I do…” She said in a quiet voice.

“W-What!” Sehun shouted a little.

A sound of someone stepping on a twig was produced.

Their head snapped over in the direction.

“,” a person tried to hide behind a big tree nearby.

Nodding at each other, the two approached the tree at both sides.

“1…2…3!!!” Sehun whispered and they jumped at whoever that was there.

“ACKK!!!” The three of them stumbled to the ground.

Sehun and Younha looked at the person beneath them, “EHH, DAEHYUN?!?”

“Ehm, hi?” Daehyun smiled awkwardly.

Suddenly noticing the compromising position they were in, the trio immediately scrambled up.

“What are you doing here?” Sehun questioned.

Daehyun hesitated. He did not want his secret to be out. His hands remained hidden behind his back.

Sehun noticed it and snatched the item he was holding away.

“YAH!”

It was a digital camera.

Daehyun blushed.

Sehun started browsing through the camera gallery and the pictures took him by surprise. Each of the pictures was taken with Younha as the focus.

“Hyung, you can go and be a professional photographer or paparazzi already.” He said in amazement.

Younha, feeling curious, sneaked up on Sehun and looked at the pictures.

“Oh my goodness, is that me?” She gasped.

Knowing that he could not keep the secret anymore, Daehyun sighed and faced Younha.

“Younha, I know this may be surprising for you, but I have liked you for a really long time now. I’m really captivated by your beauty and mostly, your personality. Your every laugh and movement is like a drug for me. I wanted to confess a lot of times, but every time I made up my mind to ask you, there will be someone around…” He glanced over at Sehun, giving him a knowing look.

Sehun scratched his head a little, giving a forced laugh.

“So, if you don’t mind…will you be my girlfriend?” He blushed a deep shade of red.

The air was tense.

Time ticked as sweat tickled down Daehyun’s temple.

Sehun blinked.

Younha gulped.

Daehyun his chapped lips nervously.

“Yes.” She breathed.

Time stopped.

“YES!” Daehyun jumped up in joy.

A child nearby began crying at the shock.

His mum immediately went over to comfort him.

Daehyun flushed in embarrassment.

Smiling slightly at each other, Daehyun held Younha’s hand in his.

“Let me take you home?”

Younha nodded shyly.

They turned and headed in the direction of her house.

“Yah, what about me?” Sehun cried.

The day ended with a sweet kiss.
