I know that Sunggyu isn't 21, but to fit in with the plot-line he'll have to come back a couple of years at the start of the story xD Mianhae D:

Foreword

It wasn't the first time Aecha found herself in a situation like this.  Her legs were curled up to her chest and her back was pressed against the wooden, crooked door as she stared gloomily, unseeing into the vacant room.  Once again, like many times before, she reached searchingly for that box.  Her special box.  A small, ancient thing with grave carvings perched on top of the shelves in her room, behind her books of fictional paranormal; Scottish folklore ghosts and witchcraft which she was too scared to read.  Aecha heaved a sob, rummaging through the books and clutching the box to her chest, returning to her frequently familiar position behind the door.

It never used to be this way.  She was once the sweet, carefree, naïve child who saw the world as a playground based at her feet and took very little offence to bullying her misdoings set out to hurt her.  However, the phases of early teenage-hood brought greatly mixed emotions and thoughts and, just like everyone else, Aecha found herself succumbing to those feelings and becoming consumed within one of life's “greatest challenges”.  Despite the many coos and attempted reassurances that every teenager has a phase and will grow out of it and mature, Aecha learned to accept her new lifestyle and gave up trying to win the friendships and popularities of others.  She found herself rapidly slipping into a depression, cutting herself off from everyone she knew: family, friends and even herself.

Aecha was lost now as the pain from her heart cursed through her scrawny, pale wrists like it had many times before.

Ne, ne, it seems much darker than my last fanfic, but this is rather relevant to the story-line.  All will be explained and in order to understand and feel the true impact, I think it's necessary to show the image of a darker state.  I'm sorry if it puts a lot of people off!  D: x

I hope you all understand, mianhae~ *Bows* :$ x

Chapter 7: Sorry, the comment was too long. But he'd say, "I just want to protect you..." or something like that.

Anyway, I loved your writing overall. Thank you so much for the fic~ I know it seems like I'm spamming you but honestly, I'm not. I just had some spare time on my hands. Keep up the great work~ :D

Chapter 7: Hey~ again... Great fic so far but there were some things that confused me a bit. Your writing is really detailed and I liked how you took that time and effort to describe Aecha's background to the reader - it really helped with the characterisation but then I thought because of that, the plot was a bit slow to start. I really loved the interaction between Aecha and her mum, the whole post-natal depression being played upon in their conversation which was realistic but in a way, not really authentic. I mean, if I had a mother like her's - I think I would be so desensitised to her that I'd become numb to all that she is to me, her existence would be like a stranger's; let alone commit an act of self-harm because of her. So it irked me a bit when I read that chapter. Another thing is when Sunggyu was introduced. *Squeal!* I loved how he seemed like the saviour with his handkerchief, hahaha - I digress, the main point is that I felt it was contradictory sort of that he is introduced so late in the fic and all of a sudden they have a date planned. I think it's a bit OOC; I mean, this girl has just come out of a hospital for cutting herself, but then everything is fine-and-dandy because some guy she barely knows offers to clean up a spill for her and they have a date planned as she giggles over a txt message. I don't think it's realistic. I think Sunggyu would be more the shy type and you could write the Aecha as vulnerable and fragile, because that was what I got from her in the earlier chapters - being bullied and with her missing her halaboji. You know those couple pairings where the guy is soft, shy and sweet and then gets protective over his girl in dire times, well that's what I imagine it would be. So far it sounds really preppy; I just can't imagine Sunggyu writing in a text like that. I imagine the couple getting really close as friends and then something massive happens to her where he'd finally look her in the eye, grab hold of her shoulders and say-

Chapter 1: Woah, I'm super excited to start. New reader here~ I do this thing where I go through all the updated fics and pick out the ones that look promising to save for later and this one sure fits the criteria! I should be doing other work and not reading fanfics at the moment but I'm really keen to read the rest of it! I'll comment again when I get into it but I just wanted you to know that it looks great so far! Fighting~ :D
