“Umhh..” moans Donghae as he stirred from his slumber upon the soft hustle in the room.
Stretching himself in the bed, Donghae flutter his eyes open, just enough amount for him to know what had caused the hustle in the room.
“Oh did I wake you?” spoke a voice as Donghae glance to the direction of the voice with his half open eyes.
Within seconds, a figure appeared in front of Donghae’s eyes as the figure lean over brushing away Donghae’s bangs before placing a soft kiss over Donghae’s forehead.
“Mianhae, baby, get back to sleep neh,” whispered the man as Donghae rubs his sleepy eyes upon being kissed on the forehead.
Brushing his hands onto Donghae’s soft curls, Hyukjae left the bed continuing what he has been doing.
Donghae rubs his eyes before reaching his hand out to the nightstand, grabbing Hyukjae’s phone wanted to check the time.
Donghae squinted his eyes upon the lights of the phone flashes against his eyes, a small pout formed on his lips as he reads the time on the phone.
4.30am morning.
Placing the phone back onto the nightstand, Donghae found himself getting up from the bed, leaning his body over the headboard while staring at Hyukjae who is packing his things.
“You are leaving already?” mutters Donghae under the blanket.
“Neh, get some sleep baby, it’s still early,” spoke Hyukjae while stuffing a few things into his luggage.
“So early?” asked Donghae as a pout formed at his lips.
“The flight is 6.30am baby,” replied Hyukjae as he put his things down before jogging back to the bed, pulling the blanket over onto Donghae’s body.
“Now get back to sleep, I thought you will be going out with Teuk hyung for celebration later?” spoke Hyukjae while giving soft pats over Donghae’s , patting him to sleep.
“Neh, going out at 8am,” mutter Donghae sleepily.
“So get some more sleep..you want to feel energized later right?” smiles Hyukjae as he once again press his lips against Donghae’s forehead before proceed back in his luggage packing.
Donghae wrap himself into the blankets, only letting his fluffy hair and the pair of beautiful eyes peeking out from the blanket watching over Hyukjae packing his things.
30 minutes later..
Hyukjae had done packing his luggage which it is about time for him to leave, taking a glance at Donghae who is already asleep, Hyukjae pull his luggage to the door before walking back to the nightstand grabbing his phone while checking the time.
5pm, October 14, 2012..
Oh yeah! Almost forgot..
Leaning over to the bed, Hyukjae pull open the blankets which were wrapping Donghae as he couldn’t help but smile at the sight of Donghae sleeping.
My baby..is so beautiful..
Quietly, Hyukjae press his lips against Donghae’s soft ones, giving the younger a goodbye kiss before he leaves.
“Happy Birthday in advance baby, have fun with Teukie hyung and others later..I love you..I’ll be back soon..” Hyukjae whispers into Donghae’s ears while admiring Donghae’s calm face as he sleeps.
Hyukjae left not long afterwards after covering up Donghae with the blanket and scanning the room for last minute checkup. He quietly leaves the room, not wanting to wake Donghae who is still sleeping.
Upon the door closes to a click, movements can be seen from the bed as Donghae flip open the blankets, staring at the door where Hyukjae had left just seconds ago.
Hyukjae ah, what should I do on a birthday without you?

Hyukjae stare blindly at the air ticket on his hand, the word Amsterdam was printed on the ticket.
How he’d wished that his family and relatives wouldn’t have organized this huge family trip to Amsterdam as it clashes on his baby’s birthday.
Flashback
“Umma..please..” spoke Hyukjae as he tag behind his umma who is busy changing the sheets.
“For a hundred times Hyukjae, it’s a no..” spoke Hyukjae’s umma a bit sternly.
“But umma, that date is very important to me.. and also him..” spoke Hyukjae as he sat on the mattress.
“I know Hyukjae..I know..but you should also know that this is a family trip and if he go with us it will be a bit awkward consider that your grandparents doesn’t even know much about him..grab those sheets for me,” reply Hyukjae’s umma.
Hyukjae sat on his spot, as he grabs the sheets and passed it to his umma.
“Then how about changing the dates? Maybe on 16th October?” asks Hyukjae trying to figure out a win win situation there.
“You know we can’t do that isn’t it? Your uncle will start working at the 19th and not to mention you have the 7th Anniversary fanmeet?” spoke Hyukjae’s umma as she nudge Hyukjae to move from the mattress.
“Oh right, I forgot… but umma.. can’t I skip this trip this time? Just for this time umma..”
“And just like I said before.. your haraboji had especially said that no exceptions to any of the family members.. I can’t help.. sorry Hyukjae ah..”
End of Flashback
“Hyukjae… Hyukjae… yah..Lee Hyukjae are you alright?” ask Sora waving her hand in front of Hyukjae’s eyes after spotting her own younger brother spacing out.
“Ah.. neh.. I am fine..” replied Hyukjae as he scratch the back of his neck, moving a space for Sora to sit down.
“Doesn’t seem like that to me,” replied Sora as she puts her brother’s shoulder, “Wished him a happy birthday already?”
“Kinda..” replied Hyukjae remembering what happen this morning.
“Hey, cheer up, we are going for a holiday!” smiles Sora as she gives another pat for her brother.

Donghae roll out of bed as he walk to the bathroom to refresh himself, the lonely atmosphere of the room send chills down his spine.
Upon freshen himself up, Donghae walk to the nightstand, grabbing his phone before checking the time again.
7.50am..
So he left already…
Donghae couldn’t help but sat on the bed, wrapping his arms around his knees while burying his face between his knees, he couldn’t help but remembered the thing that occurred just a week ago.
Flashback
“Hyukkieeee~~~” chirped Donghae upon arriving at 11th floor dorm.
Kicking off his shoes, he had dashed almost immediately into Hyukjae’s room.
However he was welcomed by an empty room of Hyukjae’s.
“Hmm.. where is Hyukkie?”
Not even asking permission to get into the room like usual, Donghae walks into the room before slumping onto the bed, inhaling the masculine scent against the bedsheets.
“Mmm..”
Rolling himself like a kid on Hyukjae’s bed, Donghae’s hand had accidentally hit the nightstand sending some papers flying down to the floor.
“Oops..” whines Donghae as he got up from the bed, sitting up and grab the papers which had fell on the floor.
“Hmm.. what are these?” mutters Donghae as he took the papers reading them.
6 days 5 nights trip to Amsterdam- Belgium (14 October 2012-19 October 2012)
“Eeh?? Amsterdam… Belgium trip?”
Number of persons: 18 (Including two elderly in Lee’s Family)
“Hyukkie… is going… to….Amsterdam?? But…how…”
“Oh baby you are here..” spoke a voice making Donghae snap up from the papers as he see Hyukjae walking in with a towel wiping his damp hair.
“H-Hyukkie… what.. is… this?” ask Donghae as he showed Hyukjae the papers which he had just found just a moment ago.
“Donghae ah… I…”
“So you are not going to..be around in Korea during my birthday?”
“Donghae ah.. I am…”
“What about our plan on driving down to Mokpo… is it still going on? Or was it… already cancelled?” ask Donghae which Hyukjae couldn’t help but feel pained seeing Donghae like that.
“Donghae.. baby.. I..”
“So you are going to Amsterdam… next week?”
“Probably.. but I am asking umma to drop me out from that since your birthday is that week too..and I promised you we’d go back to Mokpo..”
Donghae couldn’t help but feel like tearing up, one part of him wanted Hyukjae to spend his birthday with him, but another part of him wanted Hyukjae to go to that trip since it is a family trip which is very important to Hyukjae who is a person who cares about his family a lot.
“If I am not able to drop out.. maybe I shall persuade umma to let me bring you with me so we can celebrate your birthday together…just...”
“Hyukjae ah…call your umma and tell her you are going.. and you are not bringing me with you..you are to spend your week in Amsterdam with your family..” spoke Donghae trying not to sounds disappointed.
“But Donghae ah.. I can try persuade.. after all umma and appa knows we are dating.. its just that we need to inform my grandparents about that and such…”
“Hyukjae ah..you know it will be not good if I appear there out of a sudden when I am clearly not a part of your family..”
“But Donghae.. your birthday..”
“It’s okay… I will be fine… I still have Teukie hyung, Kangin hyung and Ryeowookie to accompany me, if not I could always pester Kyuhyun to play with me..”
“But Donghae ah..your birthday is once a year..”
“And family trip is also once a year.. I will be alright Hyukkie..its just a birthday isn’t it? And its not like I will get a disease or danger if you are not there with me to celebrate it..” smiles Donghae as he try to force the tears down into his eyes.
“Donghae ah..” spoke Hyukjae as he walks over, pulling the younger into his embrace, the couldn’t find any words to comfort Donghae.
End of Flashback
Donghae smile bitterly remembering that he is the one who helped Hyukjae made that decision.
Donghae wrap himself in the blanket again as he sliently cry against the bedsheets.
Hyukjae, have you realized that I had lied to you?
Sounds of weeping can be heard echoed throughout the bedroom as Donghae covers himself under the blankets, the room feels lonely just like the person who was weeping in the room, the clock slowly strikes itself to 8.15am, no one had come over to wake Donghae up.

Hyukjae had arrived in Amsterdam as the whole family had gone sightseeing over the city.
However this time, compare to all holidays he went to, this is the one of the most not pleasant one.
He couldn’t really reason out what’s with his feelings as he is normally very fond of going on holidays not to mention taking a lot of pictures and praying hard the trip will not end so soon.
This time, however, he feels like he wanted the trip to end faster, he barely even takes photos except for several group photos with his family.
Apart from that, he also found himself staring at his phone every a few seconds as if he is waiting for something.

At the same time, same thing happens to Donghae who is lying on the bed since morning.
He had been checking his phone every a few seconds while staring at the pictures Hyukjae tweeted the morning before and also after his arrival in Amsterdam.
“Hyukkie you are having fun right there, right? So do I.. I am having fun with Teukie hyung.”
Donghae glance at the message that he had typed with the intention to send it to Hyukjae.
Should I send it? Is my message that obvious that I am not having fun?
Tapping his fingers once again on his phone, Donghae erased the message that he was going to send to Hyukjae.
He doesn’t know why he can’t put his phone down but he just feel like holding it, since it is the only connection that could connect him with Hyukjae at the moment.

Sora was the one who had been realizing that her younger brother isn’t having much fun as he used to whenever they were on a trip.
“Hey, you okay?” ask Sora as she approaches her younger brother.
It has been a whole day they visited Amsterdam and it’s almost dinnertime already.
“I guess..” spoke Hyukjae as he glance at his phone again.
Hmm.. guess he is having fun with Teukie hyung so he doesn’t call me like always he does when he is bored.
“Wanna talk?”
“I am fine, thanks noona..”
“But you doesn’t seems so..”
“Noona I…”
“Its all about him right?”
“Yes..” replied Hyukjae, “I feel like I am disappointing him.. I mean.. he always pester me about the importance of his birthday..”
“And you feel like you could have done better than coming over with us, such as celebrating with him?”
“Yes.. and no.. well, Donghae is the one who ask me to come..”
“You are regretting aren’t you..”
“Kinda..”
“Well.. if I were you I’d bring him along already…”
“But it will be not nice to have him with us isn’t it? Since haelmoni and haraboji hardly even know him..”
“Are you serious, Lee Hyukjae??! Your grandparents are like the biggest fans of Super Junior, not to mention those couplings in Super Junior and such…”
“What?”
“You didn’t heard that from me, I kinda overheard when appa told umma about how crazy when haraboji screamed ‘Eunhae is real’ with a Eunhae towel as he watch Super Junior Mini Drama series..”
“You are joking aren’t you?” smiles Hyukjae trying to imagine his haraboji screaming ‘Eunhae is real’.
“No… but well.. I wanted to tell you to do what you feel right in doing, I mean, its not every year that a man turns 27 isn’t it? And what’s more it’s the person you love turning 27, aren’t you suppose to do something to celebrate with him?”
“Donghae kinda did mention that but with a different theory..”
“Hey don’t cut me..”
“Sorry noona..”
“Well.. I am not saying that a family trip is not important, but I feel like at a time like this, even it’s a hard decision, you should trust your heart..”
“Noona I..”
“Ask yourself what do you want to do or where do you want to be right now.. are you happy right now? Are you regretting right now?”
“Noona..”
“Trust your instincts, Hyukjae ah..”
I really want to fly back to Korea to hug my baby right now, I am happy that I am on a vacation with family but I know I will be more happier when I see him smiling happily when I wish him a happy birthday.
“Thanks noona… I think I know what should I do now..”
“So does that means you had figured out already?”
“Yes, and I do think that I need noona to help me with something..”
“Anything except packing your things..”
“Thanks noona..”

Donghae couldn’t help but wrap himself in the blanket for the whole day.
He only came out twice just for food which Ryeowook did tried to drag him out to shop around but only to be declined by Donghae who say that he is lack of sleep and wish to sleep for the whole day.
The clock strikes 12 as it indicated its 15th October already.
Donghae’s phone has been beeping ever since as friends and family wished him a happy birthday, everyone.. except Hyukjae.

Meanwhile, Hyukjae didn’t go wasted after that talk with Sora which he had went to talk to his parents and his grandparents asking for permission.
His air tickets was booked online almost immediately and he had went around, settling things that he needs to settle before going back to Korea to celebrate with his lover.

15th October passed by very quickly as Donghae found himself locking himself in the bedroom, crying himself out and sleep after he got tired out.
None of the Super Junior members manage to get him out of the room as Donghae keep on telling the members that he needs ample of sleep.
The clock slowly strikes nearing to 12 o’clock indicating that 15th October is about to end soon, Donghae can feel like as if this is the most depressed birthday he could ever have.
11.52pm
Still no message or wishes from Hyukjae.
11.53pm
Teukie hyung asked to come out for supper.
11.54pm
Teukie hyung left.
11.55pm
Noises outside bedroom follow by some people calling my name.
11.56pm
The door was being unlocked..a figure walk in…
11.57pm…
“Donghae ah.. Happy Birthday baby,” spoke the person who walks in.
“H-Hyukkie? B-but how…”
“Shh… just let me.. get this out before times up…” spoke Hyukjae as he kneel down in front of Donghae holding a velvet book in front of Donghae.
“Donghae ah.. my dear baby Donghae.. I am sorry that I make you sad on a special day like this, during this trip, I had figured out what is important in my life. I realize that it is a hard decision for me to make when it comes between you and my family because I love you just as much as I love my family. So I am here, standing right in front of you, to ask you to accept my proposal to become a part of my family. From now onwards, Lee Donghae is not to be excluded in any of Lee’s family trip, unless Lee Hyukjae say so…”
Donghae weeps as he took over the velvet book from Hyukjae’s hand.
This certifies that
Lee Hyukjae and Lee Donghae
were united in Marriage
in the country of Amsterdam, Netherlands
as at 15 October 2012.
