Foreword
Prologue:
It is terribly windy today. Leaves are like ashes, sweeping through the ground and roofs.
I asked my nurse to help me through my walk, for I have bussiness to do.
When I entered the auction house, I am just in time.
To vases to frames, to clocks to paintings, but, those things are nothing.
Finally, the auctioneer presented something that caught my eyes.
It was a music box, an elegant ballet figurine in a silken dress. Though her half of her face was covered by a plain ugly mask which covered her lovely face.
I bid 150 francs. For no one is interested in this lovely music box.
"250 Francs." I voice said. And I saw it was a familiar face, in wrinkles and all.
'300." I quietly bellowed.
"300! Thinking once or twice. Anyone?" The stocky auctioneer asked, with eyes earnestly hungry of money.
"320 sir." She, the familiar face said. I looked at her and nodded.
"360." I said plainly. And hastily, they handed it to me. I grasped it with my shriveled hands, and I was overwhelmed.
I asked my nurse and chauffer to help inside my carriage. And as I was seated, I saw the familiar face, with eyes directly.
At once I remembered it all. It was lovely and dreadfully mad. Which brought me to silent tears.
And she disappeared like ashes in the wind, and the next thing I knew, I was there with all the memories haunting me on my way...
