A Study in Contrast
Description
Black, white. Hard, soft. Hyukjae, Donghae. Suddenly "complementary" means a lot more to these artists than it ever did before.
Foreword
70% inspired by Hyukjae the elusive graffiti artist in the music video for It's You, 15% by the way Hyukjae and Donghae match up like puzzle pieces in even the way they move, and another 15% for the urge that I have to translate their dancing aesthetic to something I can actually write about.
I'm not sure if I'm good enough to get across what I'm trying to show about Hyukjae and Donghae's style, so let me give you a visual example.
Hyukjae's style is 98% inspired by Jetter Green, and the other 2% is even bolder and more geometric. I am so in love with his work.
Whereas Donghae....I know I've seen what I want for him, but I can't pinpoint it. ( One example is a Dali painting I found seven years ago and have been looking for ever since, but since I've already gone through over a thousands Dali paintings on a fruitless search.) I still haven't found something fitting, so hopefully I'll have done it justice. The closest thing I can find is this piece by Silvia Pellissero on tumblr....
I'll shut up now.
