Missed the Oppertunity
Violin Sonata
I walked silently to my class again. Amber wasn’t here to annoy me…wow go figure. The time on my watch clearly showed that I was early for class (weird) so I decided that maybe I should play a bit for a while as a warm up.
The garden behind the school was peaceful since most of the students were inside and some were quietly studying under the tree or on the tables.
I placed my violin case on the ground and took out my violin. What to play…ah! I placed myself in a violin position and slowly started playing. Some students lifted their heads from their books and watched me as I played. Disturbing them? I don’t think so; they actually liked it and studied again.
While playing, I let my mind wander again thinking about random stuff…Zhou Mi…Han Geng…the girl…the next note…the girl…food…the girl, mostly the girl.
“Wow you’re so good,”
CCrrriiiieeeekkkkkkkkk…
All the students who were peacefully studying looked up surprised. Woah did I make that sound with my violin again? I looked at them with an apologetic face.
I turned my head to the person to ask him/her to leave.
“I-m sorry but you—“My sentence did not complete itself, for as I turned, the girl was standing behind me smiling.
“The rumors were right, you are an amazing violinist,” she said looking at my violin with admiration in her face.
“Th-th-thanks,” Oh there great! Mumbling Henry is back!
The girl laughed melodiously covering with her hand. “Did I disturb you?”
I shook my head like a child. This made her smile again; making me smile too.
“Sorry for b-bumping into you the other d-day,” I forced the words to come out of my mouth as I placed my violin on the grassy floor and wiped my sweaty hands on my pants.
“It’s okay…I wasn’t looking where I was going myself,” she said holding her hands behind her.
We were silent for a while.
“So…what course are you taking?” Nice question Henry…nice.
“Piano,”
Oh she was a pianist? No wonder her hands were fit for piano playing.
“Oh Henry I have to go,” She looked at her watch and bowed to me. Oh right…Korean. She ran off and I stood there like a goof still having a hangover from our conversation. That was when I remembered…
“Ugh I forgot to ask her name again!”
