outcast

outcast

Jessica Jung is an outcast.

An outcast, that's what she is.

She has never gotten along with people, so she doesn't make friends.

It's true, she has NO friends.

Not even one.

No one ever dares to talk to her or even approach her until one day.

It was a very rainy day.

She got to her seat and stared out the window just like every day, not wanting to look at the people laughing and chatting. She watched as the drops of rain hit the sidewalk heavily.

She was sitting in her usual seat on the bus, at the far back.

An empty seat beside her but no one would want to sit there.

The group of friends infront of her would sit together in threes when they were only allowed to sit together in twos, but the bus driver obviously didn't care.

The bus started to move and then she felt a tap on her shoulder.

she didn't turn to it, she thought she was just imagining things.

Then she felt it again. "Excuse me..." an angel like voice spoke.

She turns to find a girl. A girl she has never seen in her whole life.

"...Are you talking to me?" she replied with shock and confusion written all over her face, this was the first time anyone had approached her like that.

The girl nods. "Can I beside you?" she asks with a smile, probably the most beautiful smile Jessica has ever seen.

"Y-Yeah, I guess.." She replied awkwardly.

The girl thanked Jessica and sat down.

Jessica glanced at the girl one last time before turning back to the rain outside.

She wanted to start a conversation with this girl, she wanted a friend.

She hesitated at first but then went for it. "...I'm Jessica Jung, what's your name?"

Jessica noticed the boy sitting on the seat opposite of hers.  He was giving Jessica weird looks. Probably because this was Jessica's first time talking to someone or talking in general.

The girl beside Jessica smiled. "I'm Tiffany, Tiffany Hwang."

"It's nice to meet you, Tiffany."

"It's nice to meet you too." she replied shyly.

Jessica noticed that Tiffany didn't have a backpack or any books. She raised a brow. "Are you a new student?"

Tiffany shook her head.

"You're a student then?" she changed her question.

Again, she shook her head, meaning 'no.'

Jessica was really confused now. "How did you get on the bus if you're not a student?"

Tiffany shrugged. "I just got on."

Jessica replied with a simple 'oh.' and turned to look the window again.

Few minutes went by and the bus had reached it's destination.

Jessica turned to find Tiffany no where to be found.

"Where'd she go..?" Jessica thought to herself.

She decided to ask the boy that was staring at her earlier.

"Hey, do you know where the girl that was beside me went?"

He furrowed his eyebrows and looked around. "Hey... you're a bit crazy, there was no one beside you."

"What?" I said in disbelief.

"You were talking to yourself the whole time..." He shrugged his shoulders and got up from his seat. "Uh.... seeya later."

Jessica sat there alone,  everyone had already left the bus.

"Hey, you going to get off this bus?" The bus driver asked.

She nodded her head and got up slowly.

"Even my first friend wasn't real."
