Everyone watched one another. Some were more careful than the others and while some were looks of concern for the others. They all watch but no word was said aloud. They were already hanging on something so fragile.

        Lay watched as Luhan and Sehun cuddle with each other, obviously in their private worlds and more than once, he had seen the younger kissing Luhan shyly while the older blushed. Kris watched as Lay continued to hold onto Luhan even though it was hard. He saw how Lay’s eyes got glassy every time their little deer said he had planned something with Sehun. Chanyeol watched as Kris broke himself even more and he had never wished more than that moment that he could speak Mandarin and tell Kris in his mother tongue how he didn’t deserve this. He saw how the leader tried to get the dancer’s attention and how his face fell when Lay kept saying no. Lastly, Baekhyun watched as his best friend watched every single thing around him and he felt mad. He didn’t know at who or what but he did. It was something inexplicable and he didn’t know how to let it out so he doesn’t. it hurt to watch but all of them continued anyway. Things continued this way until Luhan broke the cycle.

“Yixing, why don’t you spend some time with the K members?  We’re always together so you can’t want to be with me all the time, right?”  Luhan asked in Chinese while everyone was watching tv.

  The K members including Xiumin and Chen had no idea what he had said but it was obvious by the sharp inhale of Kris and Tao that it wasn’t something pleasant. Lay opened his mouth to say something but no word came out. He couldn’t believe what Luhan had just said.

“Luhan , watch what you’re saying.” Kris reprimanded in Chinese.

Tao nodded. “Duizhang’s  right. Yixing gege just wanted to spend time with you.”

Luhan frowned. “I didn’t say anything wrong. I was just telling him a fact.”

“Rethink your words.”

“I’m still your gege, Jiaheng. Watch your tone.”   Luhan slightly raised his voice.

“Gege . . .” Tao looked back and forth between the two of them.

Kris glared at Luhan but relaxed his stance after a while. “Don’t worry about it, Zitao. Luhan gege’s right. He’s older so I shouldn’t tell him what he should do. I don’t want to watch anymore.”

       EXO M’s leader stormed out of the room before Tao could even protest and after a few incoherent Chinese words to Luhan, he left the room too and went to sulk in his room. The atmosphere was tense after that and no one knew what to say. Luhan cleared his throat and told everyone that Kris didn’t feel well that’s why he left.no one actually believed him but they all let it pass anyway.

“So, what did Luhan say?”  Chanyeol asked as he sat down on Kris’ bed.

“Well, what did he say?” Kris asked back.

“After you left? Some crap about you not feeling well. No one bought it anyway.”

Kris nodded, expecting as much. “He said something harsh to Xing.”

“And of course Prince Dragon just had to defend the helpless unicorn.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

Chanyeol sighed, lying down. “Lay hyung didn’t look mad at Luhan. They’re still the same as ever if you ask me. So bad news for you, your little act was useless.”

Kris groaned. “Yixing is too nice for his own good to be honest.”

The younger nodded, rolling to his side so he was facing Kris. “Hyung . . .”

“Yes, Yeollie?” Kris raised an eyebrow.

“I’m always going to be here for you okay? No matter how stupid everyone gets, I’ll be here.”

Kris couldn’t help but smile. “I know. How do you think I survive?”

      Chanyeol couldn’t help but feel his cheeks burn as Kris continued to look into his eyes. He wondered how the older couldn’t see all the way to his heart, to his love for him when they were so close to each other. He didn’t mind for now though. Kris needed him and that’s all he cared about.

“You know you’re going to get tired of being the selfless guy in love with his best friend and when that happens, you might just Kris hyung.” Baekhyun remarked after Chanyeol came back from the older’s room.

Chanyeol blushed at the thought. Not of Kris because he couldn’t bear to do that but the image of Kris . . . it was very . . . tempting to say the least. “Why do I have a erted best friend like you?”

The older rolled his eyes. “Don’t even to try innocent. You know you want hyung that way. Well I wouldn’t blame you. Kris hyung’s hot.”

Chanyeol threw the pillow closest to him with a grimace. “ you. Go fantasize about Tao and leave hyung alone.”

“Someone’s possessive eh?” Baekhyun smirked.

“I should tell Tao what you just said about Kris hyung.”

“Go ahead. Both Tao and I think that hyung’s very hot. It’s just one of the many things we have in common.”

“Your relationship is very weird.”

Baekhyun laughed. “Why, thank you. Going back to the original topic, I think you should let hyung finally know how you feel. It couldn’t do any harm.”

      Chanyeol shook his head. It would do a lot of harm. Kris could reject him then avoid him and for the younger rapper, it was a fate worse than death. He couldn’t take that risk. He wished he was as lucky as Baekhyun. There was no drama about him and Tao. They had gotten together like it was the most natural thing in the world. Why can’t he and Kris be like that?

Baekhyun sighed, as if reading his mind. “Chanyeol, you could fill your life with what if’s or get it over with. If someone has a chance to steal duizhang from Yixing hyung, it would be you. I suggest you do it soon before someone wakes up from his Luhan dream.”

      Chanyeol mumbled something about thinking about it but while he was asleep, it wouldn’t leave his thoughts. He had imagined him and Kris together so many times that it was almost possible. With a sharp shake of his he, he forced himself back to sleep. Maybe it wouldn’t harm to give it a try.

“We’re doing what now?!” Chanyeol exclaimed the next morning.

     The EXO K members except for Sehun were gathered in the kitchen. Baekhyun had told them that Chanyeol was in a life and death situation where he needed all of the members’ help. Even though it was very early and all of them wanted to sleep a lot more because, to be honest, how often do they get to sleep in? even though they loved their sleep very much, they wanted to help out Chanyeol as well which is why they found themselves in Baekhyun’s master plan. It was called the “Phoenix Dragon getting together mission.”

“That’s a stupid name to be honest.” Jongin remarked with a yawn.

Kyungsoo frowned at him. “Jongin . . .”

“What? Baby, come on. It’s lame.”

Baekhyun rolled his eyes.  “Okay save the couple argument for later. Chanyeol, shut up. Your Kris has sonic ears and if he finds out the plan, it will all be ruined.”

Chanyeol pouted but quieted down. “He doesn’t have sonic ears.”

Joonmyeon coughed. “So besides Kris’ ears,anything else you have to say Baekhyun?”

“The plan’s simple. Get Kris hyung away from Lay hyung and get him closer to Chanyeol.”

Jongin scoffed. “The plan’s as lame as its name.”

“Oh yeah? You have any better idea?”

Jongin smirked, making Kyungsoo chuckle. “Oh trust me, Baekhyun. My Jongin baby has one.”
