I'm not bragging but ever since I was young, I have been called cute. Actually what's there to brag about, because of that, I have had an unfair amount of misfortune in my life. Primary school was pretty fun because I got along with everyone. When I moved to Junior high, I was envied by the girlsbecause from their point of view, I looked "cute" and when I moved to high school, all the problems began. At first it was the same as middle school but when their secret crushes flirted with me, they got jealous, so they all got together and began bullying me, which made the boys distance from me. In the end I was alone, suffering the harsh remarks and discrimination from the girls. At that point, I blamed and cursed the boys for flirting freely with anyone as they pleased and girls who fell for these stupid boys. I couldn't keep it up forever, so I decided to escape all this hell. I moved town and got in to a different school with a new appearance: hair braided into two plats and glasses.

Anyway, right now, I'm ready to begin my new life.

*The lively chatter and screams of pupils are heard*

"Ok, quiet down everybody" Though the teacher insisted, the noise level stood still. I was outside the classroom, controlling my breath, preparing for my entrance.

"We have someone new joining us today" The noise degraded slowly but rose again in curiosity of who the new person would be. I bet they'll be disappointed, oh well at least this will not make me stand out.

"Come in"

I entered the room of silence; the screaming and the muttering right now seemed alien to me, as if I've stepped into another dimension. I lifted my head up and smiled.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Baek Hana"

The eyes which used to stare at me with hatred were replaced with apathy.

"Che, she's plain" A boy seated in the middle shouted but still my smile didn't fade away. Gradually, the noise raised up again and my spotlight was dissapeared into thin air.

"Don't mind him, and your seat is right at the back" I slowly made my way to the back, without anyone's notice. I fell to my chair and sighed. Well it seems like I didn't make any enemies. I looked around the room and saw everyone joyly conversing with each other, I longed to be like them, but what's the chances of that?

I stared at the boy next to me, who was soundly sleeping away. It seems as though he was in a different worldthan others. At some points of the day I felt like wanted to join him. Not once did he wake up during the lessons and teachers didn't even seem to care.

*The bell rang*

"Ok, that's it for today, make sure to do your homework"

It's already lunch time, I streched and yawned. The day seemed longer yet clamer. The boy next to me woke up, his messy black hair and the book marks on his face made me laugh. He looked at me; his eyes asked me who I was.

"I'm Baek Hana"

It was obvious that he wasn't interested in me, but out of nowhere he spoke.

"You're cute"

Huh. His words froze me. What did he just say? cute? is he blind, HOW CAN I BE CUTE?! Just in a blink of an eye, he was right next to me. His hand reached and grabbed my drawing.

"Wow, this is so cute" His eyes were sparkling.

Sigh. Oh, so that's what he meant. For a moment there, I thought he meant me, phew. He gazed at me.

"Why, did you think I meant you?" His arragonce was potrayed through these words.

Ok, I know I'm not that beautiful but he didn't have to rub it in. He moved in closer to my face and took my glasses off"

"YA! what are you doing?!" I demanded as I grabbed my glasses off him. He stood staring at me. He smirked and waved his head from side to side; as if he is saying, I'm not even a tiny bit beautiful.

I watched him walk out of the classroom, then put my glassess on.

"Naah, you're still cute" I turned around and he was popping out of the window, with a massive smile. He winked at me.

"Call me cute one more time and I'll..." I threw his own book at him as I said, but he escaped.

My school days passed annoying him and watching him sleep, but thinking back now, I never really asked his name. And today, it's finally the day I'm going to watch beast alive.

*The cheerings and screaming of fangirls are heard*

Their breath takingly exotic performance ended, and I made my way to the backstage in excitement of meeting them. More than anyone, I really like Dong woon, so when I met him, my gaze was fixed on him.

"Nice to see you again, Hana" I turned around to see Kikwang greeting me. How come he knew my name?, and "nice to see you again", when did we meet the first time?

"You really are cute" He smiled. Wait, that voice, why does it feel like I've heard it before? Don't tell me?! He winked at me. I knew it.

"YOU?!, you, you're him?!" Wow, I never expected that. I wonder if anyone know, well if they did, I bet the girls wouldn't leave him alone. Who could predict it anyway, with that hairstyle and behaviour, impossible.

"Remember, Don't tell anyone and you know, you look better like that" He winked and all of them were running to their dressing rooms, as the paparazzi behind me flodded the narrow corridor.

"YA!, wait there" I shouted but they all disappeared, and I never got to speak to Dong woon.

Next day in school, I , screamed at him, punched him and laughed with him. It was in such a long time, that I felt like I had a friend. A person I can talk to without being scared, knowing if it's him it'll be alright. For the first time in my life, I looked forward to come to school because I knew he would be there. Even though for the the most of the time he'll be sleeping, still his prescence is enough to make me feel secure.

One day in school, he told me again that I looked better without glasses and braided hair. For one day, I wanted to show him, the real me, so I came to school without anything. Suddenly, I began getting a lot of attention and when I came into my classroom, he was awake. He smiled at me. I made my way towrads my seat and sat down, my eyes were constantly on him, but the whispers of other people, made me realise something.

"Who is she"

"Who sits there anyway?"

"oh, I know it's that girl that came to class two months ago or something"

"you mean that geeky looking one"

"Yeah her, What's her name..erm"

"Bana..Haba.."

"it can't be her right"

These people who didn't even look at me for these past two months suddenly realised my exsistence, just from only changing my appearance. They don't look at who I really am, they just decide by my look but he's different. He looked at me with open eyes.

I decided to be myself, and I never plaited my hair after that and I began wearing contacts again. I was fully prepared to face bullying from anyone, as long he's by my side, I can stand up to anyone. 1 month afterwards, I was confronted by the girls in my class.

"What do you want?" I asked.

"che, look at this girl, acting so high mighty, tsk, tsk" She began circling around me and the others formed a circle around me, blocking my way.

"Just a month ago, you were plain but why did you suddenly change?" I kept still.

"is it because of him, that sleepy boy you sit next to" I could feel my fist clenching slowly.

"I bet if I told him, that you slept with 100 boys, he would leave you just like the other boys"

"hmph, he's not like that"

"How can you be so sure? all the guys are like that you know" She stopped infront of me.

"Shut up! What do you know" I shouted at her as my anger rose up.

"You cocky b***h, how dare you?" She raised her hand up to slap me and my eyes instantly shut tightly, waiting for it to happen. I waited but I didn't feel any pain or any touch on any part of my body. I opened my eyes and he was infront of me. He held a firm grip on her arm, and she struggled to get out of the lock.

"Let GO!!" she screamed but he stood still.

"touch or bully her ever again, and I'll make sure that mouth of yours won't speak again" I never realised how strong and powerful he was. Just by a sentence, he could shut anyone up and scar them for life. It was neither the contents of his words or the way he spoke but it was the aura which he was emenating.

"che...let's go" All the girls stormed out and I stood still, trying to grasp exactly what just happened.

He smiled under the glistening sun, and I stared at his face mesmerised by his beauty. I wasn't alone, this time was I? No I had him with me. By realising that thought, tears escaped from my eyes.

"ehh, why...why am I..."  I shivered and began to cry. I finally stood up to them. I repeated that sentence in my head as I cooled down in relief and accomplishment. I fell to the floor. He knelt down, and embraced me. Embraced my true self.

"You're cute"  I couldn't see his expression but I felt as though this held a different meaning than the other times in which he said "I'm cute"

"hmm"

"You're cute"

"stop repeating" I said as my face blushed in red.

"But you're cute though" He hugged tighter.

"Call me cute one more time and I'll - He kissed me - I blinked and blinked and closed my eyes. I was drifting into an unknown land but I felt great warmth surrounding me and I was fearless but hopeful of what might come in the future.

He let go of me and smiled at me.

"So what were you were saying"

"call me cute one more time, and I'll..."

"you'll what??"

"...I'll kiss you again..." My voice quitened and my face fell to the floor in embarrassment.

He chuckled and moved in closer.

"you're cute"

We moved closer together smiling at each other...

The girls never bothered me again, and my peaceful life has just begun. Well, sweet lovely life I guess with ups and downs but no matter what, I hope you'll stay with me.
